Just got these LPVO in after doing a lot of research on what FFP LPVO I wanted that I could afford. I would definitely get the Razor 1-10x24 EBR-9 MRAD.. but I don’t have that kind of money right now. I got it on optics planet for a great price. Was I bit worried I made the wrong decision but so far from what I can see without having shot with it yet, it looks great. I’m happy with the quality of it and the glass and reticle is clear, eye relief is good. Especially when all the way zoomed in it’s an improvement over the cheaper Bushnell LPVO it replaced. We will see how it does at the range I think it’s a great choice for a quality optic.. just on first impressions. The OPMOD Vortex cantilever mount I’m less impressed with.. but again the real review will be after a few hundred rounds.
I understand the hash marks above the circle correspond to 18" at each of those marked distances. However, what do the width of the hash marks below the circle at 3, 4, 5 and 6 hundred yards correspond to?
I hate BDC reticles. Also, prefer MRAD over MOA. Love the Razor HD Gen III 1-10x24 with EBR-9 MRAD reticle. (Although font choice on the reticle sucks.) If you will make a scaled-down version of that, exact same scope, FFP, EBR-9 MRAD, tough as nails, smaller and lighter in1-6 or 1-8, I'd probably buy it.
I won this recently in a raffle, and know nothing about scopes. I currently own an AR 15 and a Zastava ZPAP M70, not sure which one it would be best for. Enjoying the learning process even if it's a bit overwhelming right now.
@@brendanswanevelder4774 I actually wound up going with Primary Arms GLx 1-6x FFP with the Griffin-M6 reticle because of the higher quality glass, auto off illumination, build quality, and also a major part was the reticle. I was able to take my 10.3" Ballistic Advantage 300 Blackout to 600 yards on just 6x top end magnification with factory 123gr Magtech ammo. I'll definitely be staying with primary Arms, waiting for them to drop a 1-10x24 FFP Griffin-M10 later this year to pair with a POF P415 Edge I'm gonna try to take out to 7-800 yards with 75gr Hornady Frontier BTHP
Hey David! Which model do you have? The SFP Strike Eagle 1-8x24 comes with a thread-in throw-lever. If you are missing that or if you have the new FFP version and the box for some reason is missing that, give us a call at 1-800-4VORTEX ext. 6 and we can take care of that for you!
Vortex has always been good to me and my company when it comes to parts replacement or warranty, although dealing with it costs time out of business day, which costs money.
This is part of the reason BDC reticles suck. Not only do the manufacturers tell you how high to aim, they tell you where you have to zero in order for it to work. No choice.
The Strike Eagle 1-8 FFP has 11 Settings illumination total, the Razor HD Gen III 1-10 has 11 settings total and the Viper PST Gen II 1-6 has 10 illumination settings.
I was expecting some version of the LPVO from the PST series with 1-8x or 1-10x magnification and instead there is another piece from the Strike eagle series. I'm slightly disappointed.
Europtic shows it at roughly $200 less than that, I'd imagine you can shop that around, especially on sale days. My only hope is they addressed some of the issues from the previous generation of LPVO's. I love my SE 5x25, so would make sense they upgraded everything, and if so will be an excellent scope for the $$$.
Pretty messed up how they don't come with a cantilever mount. Like...vortex knows that we are going to mount this on a rifle. And they're just like...Nah...we're just not going to include a mount. We will just give give them the option to buy separately in case they want to use duct tape instead. Like bro...
Most people like to choose their own mount. For myself, I dislike built-in stuff that can't be changed or costs money to change. Example: Daniel Defense charging handles suck, finger pinch, gloves get stuck. First thing after buying DD is spend the near $100 or whatever for Raptor charging handle.
Just got one from palmetto state armory. Can't wait to use it.
Well done, and well explained video. Quick, to the point, and easy to understand. Good job Vortex.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for tuning in!
Just picked one up today. Got it mounted on my SOCOM II and I love this optic.
I just bought one and can't wait to use it with my Geissele Super Duty.
Just bought the strike 5.25x56 for my creedmoor this is the next on my list for my ar15

I often use the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 EBR-8 on a springer airgun because I like it a lot, I hope it will hold up.
I absolutely love my Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 scope !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please: why??
Big fan! We had ours out on the range today!
Right on! Glad you're enjoying it!
Looking forward to getting my hands on one, i hope the illumination is daylight bright for fast shooting on 1x
Perfect LPVO for non ar15 aplications... if it were offered in mrad/moa reticles
MRAD.
And not BDC. Some of us don't need Vortex to tell us how high to aim.
Thank you for talking.
300wsm is awesome.

Can this be adapted for a .22 lr ? Or does Vortex make a .22 lr reticle?

will there be a mrad-version of the reticle?
At this time there is just an MOA version available but we can pass along the feedback that MRAD is wanted!
Seconded. After getting used to MRAD I don’t know why I ever used MOA based reticles for magnified optics.
MRAD reticle on this lpvo would make it perfect
Two years later, answer is still No, I guess.Too bad, as I would probably have bought one, provided that it's not Chinese or Vietnamese made.
Would you mount this on a .30-06 bolt action hunting rifle?

seeing as the scope is made for 223...
@@notsoprogaming9789😂
@@notsoprogaming9789 Maybe his AR isn't a 5.56/.223. Maybe it's 300 BO. He didn't say. Or maybe he can think and doesn't need/want a BDC reticle.
I really like this scope, but why are the 3 lines. It sure what they’re called (maybe someone can fill me in) are so thick and large?
Hell yeah 👍🏻 finally 👌🏻👌🏻
Any new iterations of the Viper Pst (gen 3) in the works?
Unfortunately we can't disclose too much information on what's in the works right now. But stay tuned!
Hi, is this scope also applicable for air rifles or do they have a fixed parallax?
Will this be recommended for the 450 Bushmaster?
When parallax adjustment for lvpo?
Very cool 😎
Between this and the Primary Arms GLx 1-8 BDC I'm having a tough time choosing lol

Is it daylight bright
Yes!
Is this a good option for my mini14?🤔
Hi, can I use that scope on an air rifle? Like the HPmax?
Is mrad comming soon?
So how well would this work for 300 blk out 16" barrel?
Where is this made? Phillipines...Japan....USA...or China...
Can this be used on an M1A with the reticle, or is there a BDC for the 7.62X51?
Is this daytime bright?
Yes it is!
Cool
I have that scope. Very good quality,I can nockout out the center of a bullseye at 100 yards. except I didn't get a throw thing with mine 😞

Where can we find this in Canada?
Cabelas is selling these already.
At what range does it need to be zeroed so that the holdover hash marks are accurate?
Says 50 holds to 100

I've got 2 Vortex Gen 3 1-10 and 3 PST 1-6. Is the illumination as bright as those scopes?
The Strike Eagle 1-8 FFP has 11 Settings illumination total, the Razor HD Gen III 1-10 has 11 settings total and the Viper PST Gen II 1-6 has 10 illumination settings.
@@VortexOpticsUSA I realize this scope is a lot less expensive than a 1-10 Gen 3. Is there anyway to compare the brightness between the two?
Hey, what does the night vision do? I got this scope 2 days ago. Tried to switch on night vision and nothing happens. (Tried when it was dark) thanks
Probably just night vision compatible friend.
It means that it's easy to read if you're looking through night vision equipment.
NEED!
Could we get a n moa and mill reticle instead of bdc
Mil.
OPMOD?
Please make this in MRAD! Would be perfect for us who can’t / don’t want to spend €1000+

We need a strike eagle 1x10.
We hear you! We'll let our product development team know!
I wasn't aware that Vortex made a lower power First Focal Plane Strike Eagle. Is this a new product?
New launch today.
Putting in my order now. I've always wondered why Vortex never made a sub $1k FFP LPVO. My prayers have been answered lol.
The strike eagle 5.25x56 is ffp

That would be pretty nice if it did work that way 😂
Pass. Recreation or Competitions won't help us when WW3 or a civil war break out!
🤣 What is your point? What do you suggest? Now is your time to shine.
@@UrbaneismI think he’s implying that he wants a military grade HARD USE optic that won’t fail unless dropped from ten stories … 😂😂😂
No, he's saying that he wants it to be as tough as the Razor HD Gen III so that it doesn't cost him his life in a gun fighter. He's absolutely right.
Will the reticle works for a .300blk build 16in barrel?
We always recommend validating your particular set up, ballistics, and environment at the range, but yes it should work for that rig!
