Actually, the original Captain Marvel was literally an alien called Mar-Vell. He was the original Captain Marvel

@DoomBlazer yes, she used it before Carol but changed it after she was made aware of the OG Cap Marvel, after finding out about it and since she had no connection to Mar-Vell, she didn't think it was right to keep using the name.
Carol however eventually took the name because she actually got her powers from Mar-Vell and it took some convincing from other avengers that she should be the one to carry the mantel of the OG Captain Marvel.

I feel like because they changed her origin story etc, they could give her an original, all new name and classify her as from a different universe to 616 (or should I say 199999)😂, although she might call herself Photon as Maria’s call sign was photon.

Yeah, Powerful doesn't mean interesting anyways. The Hulk is interesting not because he is the strongest, but because of the drama he carries with him. Also, he became a cursed man while saving the life of Rick Jones, which turns his drama even more heroic
She has a great personality and is OP, more so than Carol Danvers.
Ok besides that, there's a similar Indian Inhuman character called "Dinesh Deol" in the marvel comics, except he loses his arms due to terrigenesis and makes cybernetic arms. He's basically a electro-psyonic cyborn superhero; wish he was introduced in armor wars tbh
