After going through the past ten months of battling lymphoma and my chemo journey I am presently in remission and to me that is the best contentment to me. Thankful and blessed. You are such an inspiration and my favorite channel. Have a wonderful weekend and blessed week ahead ❤
Honestly, the older I get, I am so content to know I can spend the evenings in the safety and quiet of my own home. I do love people, but some days I can get “peopled out” 😂. Emmy, just yesterday another lady and myself made and served apple crisp for a ladies’ church meeting, with cool whip on the top…..everyone loved it!
After a day of work, I am content to come home to my cozy apartment and watch this channel or put a puzzle together or bake Apple cobbler 😂. Some days it just seems too peopley😂😂.
Yes, after Hurricane Helene, that affected my state, but not my area, it makes you thankful for your home, car, water, electricity, cell, friends, family, town, church, etc. All the things we take for granted and expect to always be there could be taken away in a short time. Please pray for North Carolina and the other affected states. Rebuilding will take a long time. Be grateful for what you have.
We decluttered, painted, pared down furniture, and new flooring last year. We only brought in things we really enjoy. Everywhere I look is calm and things I really like. I love being home.❤❤
I find contentment in nature. I love going for walks in all the seasons. I am very lucky to have beautiful walks near where I live. I get to see the wildlife as I walk by the canal and in Bradgate Park. Just not in all the snow and icy weather. 😂 I find contentment in being at home in the warm reading a book or crafting. ❤ Hugs and blessings from Leicester England 😊 xx
Always love visiting with you and Paul. Wish I lived more frugally when I was young but I’m very good with my money now. Programs like yours serve to encourage people live a more frugal lifestyle. I used to eat out a lot. At first it was hard to resist , but after a while I have become content with cooking at home. Love your little spoiled doggie.
You never know what you'll find at the dollar store. Cute pillow covers! I find contentment in the home by looking around at what I have whether it be an heirloom or something that reminds me of the places I've been , but I'm m most content feeding my family.😊😊😊
I’m from Lancaster and I have bought snowball flowers like yours at a stand. The girl lightly spray painted them red and I tucked them in my Christmas tree here and there. It was pretty.
We make apple crisp frequently.I have also used those dried flowers from the snowball bushes. I visited a friend yesterday and she is updating her already beautiful home. I felt a bit envious for a moment. I remembered then that it’s better to be happy with what you have and be joyful for how others find joy. This friend is a skilled decorator, my skills are in other things.
Every day I read Scriptures about contentment - my favorite is "Keep your life free from the love of money, and be CONTENT with what you have, for He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5). Every time I look at something that I think I need (but it's only a want), I try to remember that verse.
The dollar tree pillows would look cute in a child's room. Watching you cook with your very pretty dishes I thought they would make home cooking even more enjoyable and we know it is frugal. Pretty dishware doesn't have to be expensive. They can be found in thrift stores.
It's Friday night all My friends are out having fun, needed to see this I'm very frugal and happy but Yes sometimes I do compare myself to others, thank you for showing me I can be happy with what I have
I have used placemats from Dollar Tree to make decorative pillows. Sewing 2 together and stuffing them with fiberfill. I have them and gave some as gifts😊 I find contentment on an outside walk with my headset Christian music playing. I tell my family and friends it's just God and me out there seeing the beauty He created😊
We went to the apple orchards and picked up Golden Delicious and Cortlands. I have made two apple crisps so far. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Just be content with what you have and spread the love in your heart to others. All year round. Like the song goes..what the world needs now is love sweet love. God bless ❤
Yes, don’t be envious of what you”think” others have…..be happy and content with what God has blessed you with. Family, friends, financial stability and good health. Thank you for the Trader Joe shelf stable whip cream. I’m going to look for it and stock a few in my pantry. Loved that you found those cute pillowcases. I don’t need any but if I did I’d be looking….. I have to share that I resisted buying a book $20+ and was lucky enough to reserve and get it at the library…. I had put on my bucket list, NOT to buy any books unless they are less than one dollar. Lol
I adore reading books about people who are good at living a contented life. My particular favourite is Winter Solstice by Rosamund Pilcher and is a must reread every December. Live well my friends!
Love watching & getting new tips to help get through this difficult time, I tried coupons before box stores, but the lost leaders has been more beneficial than them all, I thank you & watching wanting to be a farm girl, help me take it a step further, by purchasing things on sale enough to come home and can for the future, i’m buying rock-bottom price at the freshest time to preserve it, it feels so good to know if electricity I can have a meal in minutes and the taste is over the top
I'm smelling that cinnamon apple crisp all the way over here in Idaho. You are so right - we will be happier, more content, and more thankful by stopping and looking for the beauty God has surrounded us with. And those pillows are beyond cute. I'll be looking for those at our Dollar Tree - haha.
Your dried snowball flowers are lovely! In late spring I pick gallons(& gallons)of blueberries from our little orchard. Sort, wash, dry, measure out & package to freeze what we don’t eat fresh. Come November I start canning them for holiday gifts
The dried flower bouquet is lovel, so simple. In the past l've gone done to the woods by my house and gathered many dried/dead flowers, cattails, and milk weed pods. I arrange them in an antique Red Wing crock. It's always very pretty and when they get dusty and drier l replace them! I've even found dried sunflowers to add another texture and color. Ppl that come to my home are interested where l've gotten these from. Not a store, in the woods and l get some excercise hiking around🚶🏻♂️🏃🏽♀️
Wow!! Emmy & Paul, another excellent video. I love the dried flower arrangement, apple crisp pie, and those pillow covers are so adorable. Oh and Dixie looks so cute on that sofa. I find contentment in helping someone that might be in need while being frugal. Also trying to not watch too many videos where they sponsor and tempt me to buy. I have the will power to say “NO thank you.” 😊❤
Emmy, I find contentment every day! You just have to watch the news around the world to appreciate how lucky we are here! What a treat it is to watch your videos, I love the care that you put in making things beautiful and delicious! Thank you for connecting with all of your followers every week :) Apple crisp is probably the favorite dessert in our home.
Having an attitude of Gratitude!!! This week had kitchen floor regrouted. Looks wonderful. Thought I needed a new floor but grout was dirty. Glad we tried that and it did the trick. So happy with it!! Thx for your great videos!!!
I bought 12 lbs of apples from Aldi when they were on sale for $1.99 a 3 lb bag. I used 6 lbs of apples to make apple butter and the other 6 lb to make applesauce. I cooked the appples in my crockpot. So easy! (I used my apple-peeler-corer gadget to effortlessly prep the apples. Mine is just like yours but red.) The house smelled fabulous! So yummy and way better than store bought! Blessings!
Your dessert looks delicious! Here in the UK we call this apple crumble and serve it with custard - it's a dessert that's served in most cafes and restaurants , and many homes . An absolute British staple, particularly to use up apples that have fallen!
Yummy recipe! Always a pleasure to see Dixie ❤️. Your pillows look great! I’m able to find more contentment with practice of deciding to be content. Our consumer driven world sows the discontent seeds. We need to not let them grow to find contentment and true happiness Thank you for another excellent video
Such a great video Emmy & Paul! My ears perk up as soon as there's anything positive being said about living contentedly. It's the best way to live and I loved everything you said about it. We do have so much, you're absolutely right. There's no need to look at what others have. We just need to enjoy what we've been blessed with and make the most of what we have. I stay contented by remembering that there are so many people out there with not even a home. They're living on the streets and life must be so hard and they must feel so hopeless. Focusing on helping those in need is definitely a way to be content with what you have. It's a joyful way to live. I love your positivity and your creativity! That bouquet you made from those dried flowers was so clever!😊 I also loved what you did with those cushion covers. They looked perfect in your home. Also loved your apple bake. It looked delicious! It was also wonderful to catch a glimpse of Dixie too. She's such a gorgeous little dog! Thanks again for this highly inspiring and fantastic video. I hope you both have a great week and may God really bless you.❤😊
This year I am spending money.Son wants white Christmas tree with blue ornaments. Also having ham. We are often had a lasagna for a thrifty holiday meal.❤ Glad you do your channel.
I have made your Apple 🍎 🍏 crisp quite a few times, I always go back and find your recipe! I make it with 2-3 large leftover apple, whatever I have! Just for me and my husband! Great video! My husband and I are So grateful and content!!
Loved the apple demonstration. So true, Emmy! Apple crisp is a favorite. I haven't made it in a long time and it's so easy to make. 🤔 Have a great weekend!
If you want a perfect pie crust I make a big batch of pie crust and freeze each crust with plastic wrap and foil they last up to a year. 1-5 lb bag of flour,3lbs lard,1lb. Real butter,1/3 cup sugar,1-1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 quart of ice water and yes I mix by hand in and extra large bowl. It makes close too 22-8" pie crusts and I got so many good comments on how good my pies were. I changed the recipe from 4lbs lard too the 3lbs lard and 1 lb butter because would always forget too put 2 tablespoons of inside the pie now I did have too worry anymore they turn out perfect every time. Thawl the crust 45 minutes before rolling out . And the plastic helps too carry the crust too the pie tin.lol
I just made this apple crisp recipe last week for a dinner with friends! Absolutely delicious! We served it with vanilla ice cream on top! Scrumptious!!!
Grew up eating apple crisp often. Sometimes my mom would give us ‘dessert first’ when she needed extra time to make dinner after work but had super hungry kids 😂
Love your simple finds and your pretty floral arrangement! ❤️ You might Google pool noodle centerpiece!! Such a neat way to make a table centerpiece for a holiday.
Abundance & contentment are a state of mind that I remind myself with through a daily gratitude practice, it's a good thing! I'm so grateful for you and Paul ✨❤ blessed be! ❤✨
Ooohhh I can almost smell and taste that apple crisp! That is so sweet you help make your son’s friends feel special by celebrating their birthdays with your delicious treats. Your bouquet is very autumnal and perfect for the season. That snowball bush must have been stunning in full bloom. Next summer please show it in all its glory. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thankyou sincerely for the care you take in making these uplifting, dull day busting, homely videos. A breath of fresh air - I pray God gives you all you need to continue to create and share this precious content. Have a lovely week. God loves you. Xx❤
Sitting at the kitchen table, early morning, good coffee at hand, enjoying your video. I looked over at a lovely dried flower arrangement I made with flowers that I received fresh and dried rather than throw out. A friend/flower farmer brought them when my husband died recently and each time I look at them I am thankful for my husband and for caring friends. No money can exceed those blessings.
Dixie is always a welcome sight…..you guys are great at making me hungry…Paul would be a great QVC host! The flower arrangement was lovely…..I’m very content and grateful with what I have…..thanks for sharing….
I just remembered you saying but your meats when they're on sale and I did buy a 16lb. Turkey at aldi's $1.07 lb. Canned up 6 pints of Turkey in broth and 4 quarts of bone broth. And will buy another one for making turkey spread too can and more bone broth for winter meals. The change saved me over $30.00 on my monthly meats budget. And will do the same when ham goes on sale. Can half and can bone broth and soup beans too can.
We love apple crisp. I had some apples that I needed to do something with so for the first time I assembled an apple crisp and put it in the freezer. I'll bake when we're ready for a dessert so hopefully it will come out ok
Having been through tough times in various ways, I find solace in being in our home and enjoying what we have on our homestead. Family, good food, peace, safety.....it's a lot. The last several years have been really tough ones and I just want a simple life of peace and our needs met. God bless!
For the dried hydrangeas, hit them with a bit of spray paint (gold, or any pretty color) They really are beautiful. You can also spray paint twigs or small branches
Awesome video. I know what I will make for Thanksgiving Treat. Already decided not doing the Crazy Busy Expensive dinner. Cozy soups and crusty bread and Vegetables Tray. 😊
We are retired, and I find contentment in my crafts, cooking, and reading. I love Cozy Mysteries, which I find at my library...so free. This week, I purchased a small frozen turkey at Aldi for $.77/lb! We enjoy taking rides on back roads to enjoy the changing scenery, and we usually find a Dollar Tree or other discount store to find inexpensive decorations for the current season. With fall finally here, I am enjoying cooking in my crockpot and also making hearty soups. Hubby enjoys restoring his 1950 Ford and taking care of our 3 acre property.
I’m a nurse, it’s easy to be very content when you see daily the difficulties other people face.
Same!
Absolute truth! Thank you for caring for others!
Our granddaughter arrived safely after 60 hours of labor!!!!
Congratulations.

That is so sweet you help make your son’s friends feel special by celebrating their birthdays with your delicious treats.
Your bouquet is very autumnal and perfect for the season. That snowball bush must have been stunning in full bloom. Next summer please show it in all its glory. Have a wonderful weekend!
We do have videos from our garden! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Paul & Emmy!
Good morning!
Being frugal helps us to become more creative and resourceful, and that challenge can be fun!!
Absolutely Rhonda! When you think of it like that, it almost becomes effortless.
Thankyou sincerely for the care you take in making these uplifting, dull day busting, homely videos. A breath of fresh air - I pray God gives you all you need to continue to create and share this precious content. Have a lovely week. God loves you. Xx❤
Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement!
Could also frame those pillow covers and hang on wall. Gonna look for those.
What a great idea!
Thanks for sharing this video
Thanks for watching!
So well said! I agree 100%!
I found a wonderful sale on apples last week and may have gone a bit overboard. I'll be making that apple crisp on Sunday for my husband and I.
Oh, I hope you enjoy it!
Dixie is always a welcome sight…..you guys are great at making me hungry…Paul would be a great QVC host! The flower arrangement was lovely…..I’m very content and grateful with what I have…..thanks for sharing….
In Paul’s mind being a Qvc host would probably be the most horrifying job in the world🤣
Apple Crisp has always been my favourite. My apple of choice are Granny Smith. Love it!
Yes, they have such a wonderful texture too
I just remembered you saying but your meats when they're on sale and I did buy a 16lb.
Yay! That’s the way to do it! Good for you!
Living in N.Y. I believe you have to find beauty in all of the seasons .
Very true!
We love apple crisp. I had some apples that I needed to do something with so for the first time I assembled an apple crisp and put it in the freezer. I'll bake when we're ready for a dessert so hopefully it will come out ok
Let us know how it comes out. Hope you enjoy it!
Having been through tough times in various ways, I find solace in being in our home and enjoying what we have on our homestead. Family, good food, peace, safety.....it's a lot. The last several years have been really tough ones and I just want a simple life of peace and our needs met. God bless!
So sorry you had to go through so much. Wishing you God‘s peace.
For the dried hydrangeas, hit them with a bit of spray paint (gold, or any pretty color) They really are beautiful. You can also spray paint twigs or small branches
Thank you so much for the tip!

All truly wonderful ways to find contentment! Thank you so much for taking the time to share🤗

Your Apple crisp looks good. I can't eat oats but that looks yummy.
So good!
Apple crisp looks very similar to apple crumble we have in Uk - serve with custard, yummy, one of my husbands favourites
It is the same thing with just the added oats. I like crumbles too!
Oh, that sounds delicious!
