    The sheen on the glass you noticed is caused by the anti-reflective coating. IWC's is unique in that it gives the glass a slight blue hue.

    How does the strap and clasp fit, e.g. is the clasp under wrist or offset on side? Fyi IWC just released a green dial BP43 in steel (in addition to the ceramic green top gun, same green as BP46 steel), not on website and looks to be a boutique edition, but weird strap fit puts me off.

    Since you tend to go out and about can you take a look at the Rolex Explorer 1/2? That being said, it'd be interesting to see how that smaller 36mm of the Explorer 1 fairs on your wrist.

    I really like this watch, and was very tempted to buy it last year. Didn’t purely because I think it’s over priced. Should have been £6k. At £8k on the bracelet, it’s kind of in no man’s land. So many other watches offering more, for less. Such a shame, but a beautiful watch none the less. IWC, sort your prices out. The brand is good (although I really do hate the association with F1) but I feel they are over valuing it. Also IWC, ditch the Sellita based calibres for good and also stop calling ETA based plates, in house. Really annoys me, especially when they want so much for them. Marketting shithousery.
    Stunning location! Wow

    I think the likes of IWC and Zenith are more for the niche collector. These brands are going about doing their own thing. The problem that I see with them is unless you're a collector, per se, there are a couple of things that won't appeal to the ones seeking a more versatile piece. Some everyday conveniences like the presence of a screw-down crown, for example, is missing with this piece. Now one may say that a pilot's watch doesn't need that, and against that argument, you could say that most 'pilots' won't prefer using this as their field watch anyway. One may also say that something that costs a lot more than this, the AP Royal Oak doesn't even provide 100m of water resistance. For that, you need to consider that the brand value and weightage that AP brings to the table is much more than IWC can ever match up to.

    • @mikaj3945
      @mikaj3945 2 года назад +7

      This watch has a screw down crown, AP brand value is obviously higher hence the price, don't think they are competitors.

    Great video, great footage! But IWC is not shrinking down with the Big Pilot 43. They have been shrunk for decades already with the Mark Pilots.
