Route 1- Kolkata - Kharagpur - Balasore - Bhadrak - Puri : This route is approximately 500 km long and takes around 10-12 hours to cover. The road conditions are generally good, and there are plenty of food and fuel options along the way.
Route 2- Kolkata - Bhubaneswar - Puri : This route is approximately 440 km long and takes around 9-10 hours to cover. The road conditions are good, and the route passes through several towns and cities, making it convenient for food and fuel stops.
Places to Visit Along the Route:
Chandaneswar: A temple town located approximately 60 km from Balasore, known for the famous Chandaneswar Temple.
Konark: A UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the Sun Temple, approximately 35 km from Puri.
Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Odisha, famous for its temples and historical monuments, approximately 60 km from Puri.
Chilika Lake: A brackish water lagoon located approximately 50 km from Puri, known for its rich biodiversity and migratory birds.
Places to Eat Along the Route:
Khandagiri Restaurant, Bhubaneswar: A popular restaurant serving authentic Odia cuisine.
Dhaba-style restaurants: There are several dhabas and roadside eateries along the way serving delicious local food such as parathas, samosas, and chai.
Khaja Mohan, Puri: A famous sweet shop in Puri known for its Khaja, a popular sweet in Odisha.
