    I guess the thing that impressed me the most was the fact that there were no fireballs, flames everywhere, in spite of all those sparks flying around. No fuel leaks? Impressive. 70 years ago, several of those drivers would have been burned alive til death...

      That's because f1s are very weak compared to nascar. Debris can fall out of cars easily from a crash, and those debris can blow up another driver's machine. If a single wheel is broken, it can mess up the other wheel and can break up the whole chassis. However for nascar, a flat tire doesnt mess up the whole chassis.

    This was a parking lot moving at almost 200MPH with 10 laps left, beginnings of the shootout phase. Perfect example of why there are so many, (not saying the majority), of the fans of the sport go in hopes of seeing a spectacular crash and want their favorite driver to show off fantastic skills to avoid it. Fortunately the relative difference in speed between the cars colliding is not big. The hits between each other is probably not greater than 40MPH. All of the drivers go into this knowing there is a good chance of being,,, collected. I salute the technology that keeps the drivers safe and the faith the driver's have in the Tech.

    OMG. Massive crash. So glad all those drivers involved in the crash were ok. Holy s***. The big one at Daytona does eventually happen each time and it struck late with 10 laps to go

    I was there when that happened. Crazy

  • @allanmcelroy9840
    @allanmcelroy9840 2 года назад +1

    And the crazy thing is, as chaotic as that was, it proves a nascar is safer to drive(speed aside) because of the built-in legit safety measures, then your car or grandmas wagon going to the grocery store.
