I guess the thing that impressed me the most was the fact that there were no fireballs, flames everywhere, in spite of all those sparks flying around. No fuel leaks? Impressive. 70 years ago, several of those drivers would have been burned alive til death...
Nowadays the fuel is inside a strong light metal and inside that is a really compact rubber tank and the fuel is in that rubber tank
Yep last driver who died from a fuel explosion was fireball Roberts
pretty sure most of the radioactive is gona be “yep, we’re in it”
Hey bro where are ur replies at?
Thumbs up, if this is the only coverage of the Daytona 500 you watched.
What's that?
Only part worth waking up for.
Too bad kyle busch wasnt in it.
apart from the Febuary 18th 2001 Daytona 500......F.
The wrecks are the best part of any Nasscar race... Just too bad it didn't wipe out all the rice burners....
0:11 I still can’t get over how close that was with Matt Dibbenideto and Joey logano 😳
LOL cant beat em...take out half the field!
Dang, this has got to be exciting if you were watching this live. This gives me flashbacks to 1979 daytona finish
lol
Poor Diburrito. Had one of the best cars and had a great shot to win.
What In Carnation? Yeah. I feel bad for him.
Diburrito? Is that the new item at Taco Bell?
No its just a nickname
JTH yea totally get you should go there
I feel terrible for him
Sad. Most of those guys were having great days...
Sad. Ok there trump
Yeah, until Hamlin decided to block and cause a wreck.
@@noopsj74 it was not Hamlins fault, Menard Was pushing the 95 and got turned
Yeah
@@noopsj74 Hamlin was waaaaaay ahead of diburrito, it was menard
I feel sorry for Jamie McMurray, not the best way to end his career… great race, and congrats to Denny Hamlin
Yeah, at least he lead about 5 laps i think, even though he finished 22nd
Yeah. He did a pretty good job, especially with half of his front end being tape.
McMurray didn't deserve this for sure, but things happen. Sometimes life doesn't give us the lemon.
In 60fps, the crashes look even more impressive.
0:08 "Dinoco is all mine!"
Formula 1:*4 cars are out into a little pile up*
Officers:OMG WE NEED TO RED FLAG THAT RED FLAG RED FLAG!!!!
Nascar:*ALMOST ALL THE GRID ARE GONE INTO A MASSIVE PILE UP AND CARNAGE*
Officers:Nah just disable overtake
That's because f1s are very weak compared to nascar. Debris can fall out of cars easily from a crash, and those debris can blow up another driver's machine. If a single wheel is broken, it can mess up the other wheel and can break up the whole chassis. However for nascar, a flat tire doesnt mess up the whole chassis.
F1 is way more dangerous and they go much faster and the lanes are small a small pile up can take up a whole lane o
@@dio44 but they have sharp turns and go slow around them. NASCAR is wide open in the redline of the highest gear for 4 hours straight. They aren't going any faster. NASCAR is literally cars at top speed for 4 hours straight.
So where was the "snoozefest" everyone said was happening today?
Lol i know right, this was one of the best races that ive seen
crystaljon best racing I’ve seen at Daytona in a while
Yea hell ya! I thought it was gonna be disappointing but holy crap what a race so intense but hey my heart said this was gonna be a great race but my brain said it’s gonna be boring boi was my brain wrong. Good thing almirola was ok
I'm here. I don't mind being wrong.
@@crispykiddo70 same
Wow! That's the first time that I've watched the in-car camera footage of an accident.... I couldn't imagine being in anything so chaotic. --Smoke, everywhere... Sparks, everywhere... Getting struck, from every direction as the other autos pile up around you... I just know I don't have what it takes to be a racer. :-(
DW is somehow surprised by the big one at every restrictor plate race as if he's never seen one before.
Ore like he’s never been in one
I wasn’t surprised, Hamlin blocking like he was will most always cause a wreck!
STOP BLOCKING, it’s not racing.
Roscoe Loffel Hamlin had approximately 0% to do with that wreck, what are you talking about
@@noopsj74What the hell you talking aboit?
@@MotorsportsNation or never caused one.
Isn’t this like literally the point of watching nascar? Lmao
Yes
Just like hockey back in the days when they fought, ha.
No. People started watching NASCAR because of the finish in ‘79. Yeah, they did wreck at the end but they had really rough racing before Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison went into the wall. After they got out of their cars they started to fight. You should watch it. Best 500 finish imo
@@brotzmannsax they still fight
NO. I can't believe you think accidents are a cool thing.
Jeff Gordon’s expressions tell the story on how bad this crash was
Couldn't tell if this was NASCAR or iRacing.
IRacing is usually worse. Especially against other players
Tyler Fugate Friday’s truck race was way worse than any iracing race I’ve been in tbh. I was screaming at the TV literally every 10 minutes
@@Maverick33 i can proudly say my 500 split had a grand total of 3 yellows... WHERE IS MY CONTRACT!!!!!!!!
Best Daytona 500 I’ve watched in a LOOOOOONNNG time
me too
Great camera work. Fascinating to see it unfold from all those different angles
Idk how but Joey logano (#22) is right we’re these crashes happen and somehow he always slips through and gets no damage to his car it’s incredible
Ikr
Great safety equipment, no explosions
You know the announcers are terrible when they manage to make a 20+car pile up at 200mph seem so boring!
They seen and been in these wrecks for the past 25+ years.
It’s hella frustrating to watch bro especially that close to the end of the race. Drivers are starting to hunker down, make plays, get aggressive, and find holes. ALL of that is stopped and restarted when there’s a crash that big, and it takes the intensity out of potentially amazing last laps
@@TVNDRA I rather have majority of the field taken out at the end of the race than having over half the field out of contention like the last 2 500s.
When that one kid screws it up for the whole class
Erik Jones finishing 3rd should be the story of the day . He was down a lap two different times and scraped through 2 wrecks !!! Unbelievable finish .
I was pulling for Byron after he missed this and the other wreck with Stenhouse, then Clint Bowyer misjudged his move
Was pulling for Ryan Blaney and then yea that happened...
Not the first time Bowyer has ruined the 24's day. Or the second or the third or the fourth....
@@rayzie8599 Martinsville and Phoenix 2012
@@oscarjimenezsr.716 then Auto Club 2014 when he spun and brought out the caution. And Bowyer is also who brought out the caution at Texas in 2014 which kept Gordon from a win AND getting locked into his best chance at a championship since 2007
I’ve always been a Gordon fan, and I remember those run ins with bowyer
Waltrips reaction is beyond priceless
hahahahaha
Excellent coverage, it almost looks like it's in 3D✌
Menard after the clash: *jimmie atleast causes 1 wreck on restrictor plates*
Menard during the 500: *wrecks matt dibenedetto who everyone wanted to probably win and other drivers*
facepalm
Incredible that no one was hurt, 20 years ago such a crash would have killed someone.
This was ana awesome race! I actually enjoyed watching the entire thing
This was a parking lot moving at almost 200MPH with 10 laps left, beginnings of the shootout phase. Perfect example of why there are so many, (not saying the majority), of the fans of the sport go in hopes of seeing a spectacular crash and want their favorite driver to show off fantastic skills to avoid it. Fortunately the relative difference in speed between the cars colliding is not big. The hits between each other is probably not greater than 40MPH. All of the drivers go into this knowing there is a good chance of being,,, collected. I salute the technology that keeps the drivers safe and the faith the driver's have in the Tech.

NASCAR makes all these rules so that the cars are all the same and then they end up running in a large pack and this is the result. Why don't they just call it the IROC series?
Well, that is NASCAR.
It is almost entirely about drafting these days, that's why I don't really care.
Old school was fun to watch. Road races are fun, NASCAR is just identical cars drafting waiting for someone to make a mistake.
Maybe the format needs to be taken remixed from NHRA? Two cars run at a time hot laps and one wins.
The winners climb the pairing tree until the last car wins it all?
Heck basketball does it with March Madness.
@@glenwaldrop8166 NASCAR has always been about drafting at the high-speed tracks. Guess you weren't around back in the '70's and '80's.
Yeah, road races are fun, but I think it's also entertaining to watch cars going 190 mph with a gap between them of maybe 4 inches.
I still believe it should be NASCAR of yore go in the dealership take it home, install roll cage ,all safety features are put on by the owner go to tech inspection and they assign you a pit crew that would make it fun again ,also people get to see the car they bought and drive is the same one go in around a race track,......... ya!
I totally agree rules and restrictions have ruined this sport.
Lightning McQueen has really lost it
I KNEW SOMEONE WOULD SAY IT!
amazing footage, nice shots guys
I saw this when it was live, so that makes it even more crazy!
21 vehicle crash because of a 21 car
Coincedence i think Yes
HMMM...🤔🤔🤔
"Well that ruined everything"...lol those nascar nerds.
That was the most awesome Photography of #nascar crashes I've ever seen. Thanks #foxsports
"I... I-I mean... sometimes I'm... sometimes I'm speechless- I'm speechless."
Testament to all the advancements in NASCAR safety technology that everyone walked away from this.
Yikes! Than is frikken terrifying!
Looks crazy in normal playing mode but looks lovely in slow motion
That was brutal for the 38
You find more interesting commentators at a high school soccer game.
race cars DO need headlights
because the track isn't always LIT
LOL Comment of the year
insene ;))) Glad to hear, that no-one is hurt
💥🔥🏆🇺🇸
Welcome Back NASCAR !
Almirola going into the air was very reminiscent to his Kansas wreck...
It honestly worried me a bit. That looked horrifyingly similar.
I always get worried everytime he wrecks
Even he said it was similar to it.
when you know defeat is near so you take others with you
Truly amazing nothing burst into flames.
I was there. Excellent sporting event. Compared to what I'm used to, e.g. championship team sports, this was more visceral. Has to be seen/heard at the racetrack, to appreciate.
My heart snapped for DiBenedetto when this happened. Ugh. What a drive though, very very awesome to see.
0:09 "Ohhhhh Binabenuhdetto!!!"
0:10 OH BIG DIBENEDETTO
Matt Was So Good In The 500
Man, those guys must have been drinkin that monster energy sauce
Great camera work.
I remember seeing it on tv live and I was like omg that was ssoooooooo crazy
FYI before this race started, Cory Lajoe tweeted that the cup series races normally go the opposite of the Xfinity races
Did anybody else atmeadiatly think of Brian Scott's near flip at Daytona in 2016 when Aric Almirola was on David Regan's Hood/Roof
If I’m not mistaken Brian Scott had a similar accident to Almirola in 2016 right?
I've watched NASCAR for years and have seen plenty of wreck's I don't ever remember seeing so many sparks fly like in this one no even close to this many
That's because the cars have never run as low to the ground as they do now.....not hard to create a ton of sparks when your car is already on the ground
When did they add the spark emitters? Nice touch.
DeBenedetto: dinoco's all mine 0:10
good racing. nothing to snooze about!
Is this the i30/i40 split in Little Rock on Friday at 5 o’clock? Haha
When Almirola went in the air, i had flashbacks to Kansas and almost fainted.
Same yo
Good thing I was watching F1 when this happened. F1, you know real racing.
What do you expect when you put that many cars on a track the width of a dual carriageway!? 😂
Straight up Cars scene
paul menard : DINOCOS ALL MINE
Thank god everyone was safe...
From 2013 at Kansas with joey logano and aric almirola and danica patrica DW: HOLY SMOLY
That saved me the time of watching the entire race.
Some pretty cool slow mo footage.
How did you react to this?
0:13-0:16
@@WweJth yup
i was screaming "no" to matt dibenedetto once he got turned
Menard on the giving end of this pile up
Shocked.
WOW!!!!
OMG. Massive crash. So glad all those drivers involved in the crash were ok. Holy s***. The big one at Daytona does eventually happen each time and it struck late with 10 laps to go
"That ruined everything". ahh, that was pretty exciting stuff, Mike! This is Daytona and why people watch NASCAR.
I watch it for other reasons, not crashing.
I was there when that happened. Crazy
And the crazy thing is, as chaotic as that was, it proves a nascar is safer to drive(speed aside) because of the built-in legit safety measures, then your car or grandmas wagon going to the grocery store.
Not a Hamlin fan but what a great race today!
love daytona === awesome !!!
Not every year you see a crash like that.
Crazy
Oh yeah remember pocono 2010 Sadler and the Armco barrier elbow
Now THIS is a car wreck.
Where do all the sparks come from ? Tires ?
Can you believe they through a caution for this? Lol
You know, If this was Cars 3, next gens would do this!
I know some racers that should replace them, 12 of them memorized
Tim Tredless: Ryan Newman
Ryan Laney: Ryan Blaney
Chris Roman': Denny Hamlin
Austin Dillon: Carstin "Ace" Dillon
Joey Logano: Gogo: Logano
Aric Almirola: Aric Almirolling
William Byron: William Byrev
Kyle Busch: Kyle Buschtire
Chase Racelott: Chase Elliot
Bubba Wheelhouse: Bubba Wallace
Danny Swervez: Daniel Swarez
Aaron Clocker: Chris Buscher
Zooming Around The Track Going About 200 Mph Things Are Bound To Happen....Thank The LORD Nobody Got Seriously Hurt 👍👍👍
Getting into racing in recent years, Nascar seems to always be the lowest IQ 10/10 times.
I have a feeling 1.5 mile tracks will be this way with new package big ones
“This is big wow!”
that’s what she said
Dam. DiBurrito just went around and around....
Did anyone notice that the bottom line was completely fine except for Elliot? Besides he back, of course.
That’s the big one in Daytona 500 in 2019,21 cars 😱😱😨😟
2:04 guy in #38 probably grayer // мужик в №38 наверное поседел
One big wreck can ruin things but u have to get up and start over
