This is great racing and I implore, beg and plead with anyone who REALLY likes RACING to find a way to get to Goodwood and see this live. I've gone and it is gearhead heaven. As a for instance, I was sitting at grandstand Lavant...a guy drives up in an alloy bodied Ferrrari 275GTB....gets out and walks away...it sat there all day with people taking pictures...and after the racing was over, he comes back and drives away. Oh,yeah - it WASN'T LOCKED. He just got in. As for the so-called "valuable" cars racing, these guys play for keeps, God bless them, and if that requires a bit of travel into the dirt verge - or sadly, into the wall - so be it. But watching these guys opposite-lock these cars around this fabulous track is an earthly heaven. Go see it.
I think you'll find that the E Types should have better suspensions, bigger engines (compared to the Ferraris) and better aerodynamics. But the Ferraris tend to have better handling, and even with only 3litre engines (I'm sure the Jaguars and Aston Martins got bigger engines) they certainly aren't slow...
That’s one of the greatest so far! I just love to see those cars moved properly! Those DBs are amongst the most beautiful cars ever built, especially that Zagato one!
Wonderful Videos, but i wish you would add the FINAL RESULT in your description.. It would be nice to see that with such a mixed group of wonderful cars and drivers. Your videos, unlike many Motor racing videos lack this detail... Thanks again and best wishes.
Let's take a moment to celebrate The master at work. TOM KRISTENSEN. Just amazing, they didn't stand a chance. He drove the car for the first time on the morning of the race. Wonderful.
Might be a left-hooker but that white db4 gt was my favourite car of the race, and not going down without a fight, proper racing, with proper cars. Sat there throwing flames out the exhaust as he tried to get it fired back up, battle of Britain style and then the burnout back into the thick of the racing. The sound of them things is incredible. A proper war horse carrying injuries and still pushing the enemy backwards. You can probably tell I'm a tad biased towards my favourite car. Them things just look, sounds and seem just right. Especially slithering round a high speed corner. Saw a dark red one testing at blyton a few years ago and fell in love with it.
Watching this 5 years later, you realise something has been lost from the early years, with so much development of the cars in the latest incarnation of the revival, (just look at the cooling ducts all over the Briant Jaguar among others) as well as the number of safety cars caused by the professionals and the amateurs coming together because of the enormous speed and talent difference. I’m glad I was a member in the early days of this, the spectacle has, if not gone, wandered off to reminisce about the past…….
Comrades! I hate to admit this, but i only recently discovered these vintage races, amazing! But, does anyone know why there arent any Sunbeam Tigers involved? Drive train restrictions maybe?
I'm wondering whether gravel pits, while offering these wonderful cars a better chance of coming to a stop in case they leave the track, might not cause the cars to roll over? It seems to my eye that these oldtimers are narrower than modern cars but I might be wrong. The grass runoff areas certainly fit the cars better than modern gravel pits and colourful rattle curbs.
Watching the Aston Martin hit the barrier and crunch it's from end was painful! Such beautiful pristine automobiles. You don't want to see them damaged! Ugh!
Im gonna guess the Jag blew a brake line or boiled the fluid out on track then went off without brakes then the other cars hit it so could happen also from another car not involved.. or coolant also very slippery..
my guess is because they have a rear seat, 911's are not judged as 2-seaters (if you look closely, ALL the cars on the track are 2-seaters so i suppose there MUST be a specific 'class' for sporty cars that can seat 4 people)
The GTOs tend to race at the RAC TT Celebration race, another 1 hour race at Goodwood that involves AC (Shelby) Cobras, Lightweight E Types, that kind. But more tragically, thanks to the price tags of the GTOs, most of them now ends up in the hands of what David Piper calls as "speculators", so-called collectors who buy the cars as investment... We can be extremely thankful that there's still some GTO owners who keep on racing their cars...
The glory days of historic GTO ownership (as beautifully described in David Clarke's lovely little monograph) are long gone, now that they're merely 'investments'. Difficult to believe that Clarke even describes tuning that V-12 in one's garage...

Hear hear:)
This was my two year olds bed time story tonight :D May she care enough to tune a 4 carb 1800 in the future.
Dozens of millions worth of classic cars racing hard! This is the best! I will NEVER get tired of watching Tom Kristensen race! Love that man.
I never saw a hard racing like this with so beautiful Classic cars as at Goodwood! Best Classic Event of the World!
What great racing and cars we saw at this year's Goodwood Revival. Thank you Goodwood!
This is among the most exciting races I have ever seen! I just re-watched *again*.
Great to see the entire race posted.
Love this stuff; and I'm impressed by how competitive the E types are.
They got really low center of gravity
Yes but at the end The Ferrari win

The most beautiful cars in the world, doing fabulous races !!
Certainly the most beautiful car race ever!
Finally a full race! I hope it's not the last one :)

beautiful, fast and fun! should be a movie
Now that is driving! The whole thing, but specifically 11:43 the E-Type caught my attention :-) what control....
So very satisfying, to watch these beasts being, literally, hurled around Goodwood!
From Australia, "Thank you."
Awesome stuff - thank you Goodwood

That's it, I figured it out. The 250 SWB is the best looking car ever made.
Hard to see those Astons crashing, scratches the soul...
Peter Timowreef OMG! When the green Aston hit the tires I grunted in horror! Nooo! Such a beautiful car. Oh, that was painful.

Sorry, the 250 is nice, but in my oppinion the best looking ever made are the E-Types
@@jackspeed3398 Don't be sorry you have 99 percent on your side
Superb skill, beautiful cars and melting sounds.

I love this! They look like the cars from "The Love Bug" and "Speed Racer".
Comrades! I hate to admit this, but i only recently discovered these vintage races, amazing! But, does anyone know why there arent any Sunbeam Tigers involved? Drive train restrictions maybe?
No, this is for pre-63 GT cars. That's why the grid is composed of early E Types, Aston Martin DB4 GTs, Ferrari 250 SWBs and GTOs.
Thanks for the upload! Can you also fully upload the other races? Thanks in advance!!

Best channel on RUclips
Love this Trophy. Beatiful cars
Beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful ❤️❣️❤️❣️❤️
Who sayd that racing is boring? Because just it isnt!
Thanks a lot. :)
That white DB4 is an absolute thing beauty!
1:36 That Aston was very friendly with the apex jeeesus
they are a little less than 50 million worth of cars damn still they hoon in them
syed ahsaan I
More than that. Approaching a couple of hundred million worth I recon. A pair of the Ferarri's will surpass your 50 million estimate alone!
What a great race.
No minimum pit window .
Watching the Aston Martin hit the barrier and crunch it's from end was painful! Such beautiful pristine automobiles. You don't want to see them damaged! Ugh!
For this .. I' love England .. from Frenchman
Frenchman or Frenchwoman?
I was almost as interested in the commentator battle.
I love to see these cars raced with enthusiasm rather that wasting away in stagnant collections.
The safety car looks like it would have someone riding in the back eating cucumber sandwiches
That Safety car/Pace car is even more Classy than all of the rest of the cars out there, What kind is that by chance?????
I think it's a Mk 1 Jaguar saloon.
Im gonna guess the Jag blew a brake line or boiled the fluid out on track then went off without brakes then the other cars hit it so could happen also from another car not involved.. or coolant also very slippery..
Just curious, for such classic cars, what kind of racing tires are they all pretty much using??????
Dunlop makes racing tyres for historic racing.
They are period crossply racing tyres. Likely Dunlops as mentioned above me.
I love classics but it's really scary to look at this
How is it scary?
Excellent ! :)))
Qual o nome dessa pista ?
I wonder how many times Kristensen won Le Mans?? ;-)
Safety car is beautiful
Fucking fantastic
Can some one tell me how fast do these cars get to at this track.
I've been there, and the answer is VERY. Faster than they were when they raced in period.
Thanks, but I was kind looking for a number. 180 km/h ???
Road going e types, db4gt, cobra were around the 145/150 mph mark as standard......
120 - 130MPH in these cars at this track.
What was the safety car?
Daimler 250?
Jaguar MkII.
Seems like Joe Macari is better at selling cars than racing them.
47:30 Europe vs the US :p
Forza Ferrari !!!!
Why no 911 in this round ?
my guess is because they have a rear seat, 911's are not judged as 2-seaters (if you look closely, ALL the cars on the track are 2-seaters so i suppose there MUST be a specific 'class' for sporty cars that can seat 4 people)
The race is for GT racers up until 1962. The 911 won't make it to the cut-off date. Also the motorsport career of the 911 started a bit later
5 corvette owners thumbs down?
So. Much. Money.
Only the green gto is 48 millions, imagine the price of all the cars together...
So little time
I dont see why they race 250 gtos. They are never at the front of the pack.
Cause why not? They try.

Yeah but would you dare mix it up in one of those 🤷♂️
I love watching these, but when you see a 10 million dollar plus car wreck, it makes me cringe.
no Ford Cobras. BORING.
You're looks ng at the wrong race then. This is for GT racers up until 1962 only, there were AC Cobras in the race, but they're the very early ones.
