@@RichardMichaelOwen IDEA FOR NEXT YEAR'S VIDEO: What's in the public car park? I've never been to Goodwood. The public car park at the Beaulieu Autojumble has some star cars, but spread out.
The Brits sure know how to do a motor show. You are doing wonders for their tourist industry. Who wouldn't want to try and get there one year. Great presentation.
Sir RMO , TANKYUBÉRIMATIS 👌👏For this supercalifragilistic walk description by your most learned knowledge and top notch gentleman scholar diction .👏👏👏👏👏💯🎯
Thanks for sharing all those gorgeous cars! Hopefully the younger generation can appreciate all the hard work keeping these cars running and will take over as the present generation gets on in age. Cheers from Sidney BC
Living in Toronto in my youth during the 60s I spent my time at Mosport. The Can/Am series was a favourite and in my mind, the LolaT70 was terrific in the hands of John Surtees and Denny Hulme. Racing priceless Ferrari 250 GTOs, are you kidding me? I'm an old guy now but I still have a bucket list and the Goodwood Festival is at the top of the list.
Another wonderful continuance of your glorious walk through automotive legend. And now, all the more poignant in the respect that when you filmed this, our beautiful Queen who was also a lover of cars was still alive. I’m writing this on Monday 19th September, the day of her funeral. Thank you again for sharing this Richard, live long and prosper 🙏
Great stuff, RMO ! Good pace - love the insightful commentary and enthusiasm - hope to attend one day ! Thanks for posting - you're the perfect Goodwood docent !
Thank You Richard!! You are a great man! In a certain sense american V8s we're the British antidote To Ferrari's and Porsche power and dominance. Powering AC, TVR, Lola, Lotus Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill etc
Had a lovely time taking a walk through Goodwood ....Richard thanks for saving me cost of flight, parking, hotel, and having to convince my wife we need to go to England to see cars..... Only thing I missed was seeing what you were wearing to meet dress code.......thanks for taking the time
Nice video, gives a pretty good feel for what it's like there and silly me missed another one. Amazing cars and I love the preiod dress code. I guess jeans an Isky T shirt won't cut it?
Maserati was born in Bologna as a garage inside the stable of the 14th century Pepoli Palace where coaches and horses were before. The badge comes from the trident of a Neptune bronze statue placed on the top of a marble fountain of 17th century when the city was inside the Vatican State.
Richard Micheal Owen is in seventh heaven ! This won't be your last trip Richard that's for sure . You've been bitten by the Goodwood Bug ! The one thing you can't give us is the smell ! I think that V16 was a replica and yes ..what a sound ! Have you ever seen a rev' counter like that before ! Thanks Richard
If you get the chance to come back next year you should check out some of the other Concours events. Salon Prive, Hampton Court, London City and Heveningham or something like Silverstone Classic. All usually have spectacular cars.
Richard -Another great video. Sorry not to have met you at the show. This is my 10th year at the show and the best Show in Euope I know of. It is as much about the atmosphere as the cars. The car parks are almost better than the show. I spent over 4 hours in the pre 66 car park on one day. Where else can you walk upto 2 Aston Martin DB4 Zagarto's in a car park! The highlight was Jenson Button on the track in an E Type 5 seconds a lap quicker than any thing else until the gearbox broke. Well worth the entrance fee alone. Tell me where I need to go in the USA to top Goodwood. Thanks Richard. Hugh
Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it. That BRM V16 recreation is stunning and like you say makes the most incredible noise. Unfortunately, in period the car was incredibly unreliable, and it was unreliable at this event too. I hope Hall and Hall can take maybe a week out to do some proper testing with the car and try and iron out some of the bugs with the extremely complex and fiddly (yet glorious) design. They altered the magnetos and head sealing (cooper rings) with this car to try and make it more reliable, but I think there is a ton of more work to be done to it. It would be a massive shame to have gone to the extent of building up a new car from drawings/ copying the other Mk1 in existence to blow it with lack of preparation. By the way the blue 250gt swb you pointed out as the car stirling moss drove to win the goodwood tt is not that actual car. It looks extremely similar but the car you are thinking about has the number plate 7 SPA and is owned by Ross Brawn (The guy who bought an F1 team for £1 and sold it to Mercedes a year later for quite a bit more!!).
Love your coverage and enthusiastic running commentary. Thanks!
Brilliant commentary of this wonderful event.
I feel like I walked through the paddock with you. Thank you for granting us access to such a wonderful event.
I would have stopped to look at the Frazer Nash Sebring though (one of 3 built) .....he just walked on passed it ...oh
join me next year :)

Fantastic footage!!
Love your long-form videos! So good to see Goodwood from a walking POV. Suprised the US doesn't have an event like this.

Great video. Thanks for that. Come back in about 50 years to walk around the old electric motors and lithium batteries. 😁
great video
Richard, this video could have been two hours long and I wouldn’t mind. Thanks!
Love the engine in the 166 at 24:38 a massive Lampredi inside plug motor with 4 barrel Webers, RARE...
Thank you Richard , not many whitewall tyres there mate😉. 👌🍺🍺🇬🇧
Wow, wow!!))
Awesome! Enjoy! 🎉

Awesome video. So many cars I have never even heard of. Thank you for the interior shots as well. One question I have is why is there so few Porsches?
No 550 Spyders they usually race the madwick cup with the Masers, Tojs, C-Type and DB3S
The GT-40 at around 9:50 was most likely a Ken Miles version with the plastic bubble in the roof to accommodate his immense height. RIP Ken.

Hey thanks Hugh, I was thinking about recording the parking lot. Next Year! Also staying late on Saturday.
How'd I miss this vid? Am I mistaken or did I not hear one "Holy Moly" in over 23 minutes! Richard, you can't make these too long. Thanks!
I'm watching 👍
Este video tiene emocion porque hay conocimiento sobre el tema yo no puedo viajar a Goodwood pero siento que estube en el festival
Goodwood Revival, it's like being presented with a cake, with double lashings of cream and multiple cherries on top, and then being allowed to eat it.
I thought that I was just going to listen while working on my Lotus Seven. That did not work!
The beige/off-white car in the beginning actually ran at the indy 500 in 1952, failed to qualify
50 billion dollars worth of cars!🤯

Yes! So easy to get the Rob Walker cars confused, and it should produce 300HP!
Not long enough!
Where are the Alfa Romeos?
Not a lot this year, just the prewar 308 with the Tipo D engine, more to come on that one! Thanks for watching!
Everyone dressing like ladies and gentlemen
Don't skip affordable Jags, please !
The '58 vette must of been chopped liver.
Not quite offal but close!!
It's all "good stuff".
Good stuff mate
