Doug is a killer guitar player. He did a monster cover of im the one on a van Halen tribute CD. Great guitar work in Whitesnake & Dio too

Doug is one of the best guitar players on the planet and a really nice guy I briefly met him in Plymouth in 2004 when he was with whitesnake.

Mr Aldrich is a ridiculously skilled rock guitarist and has such a unique and haunting a style but he can cover other great player’s work convincingly, as well. With Whitesnake he truly honored the work of the talented men, Coverdale had shared his stage with before. His work with Dio was exceptional and supported the eerie feel of Ronnie James’ dramatic performance perfectly. Listen especially to his work on Throw Away the Children, on Killing the Dragon. Ohhhh Man- it’s such a crazy, dark, haunting sound. In that extended solo, we get a glimpse into the mood that he weaves so effectively through his contributions to Dead Dasies , Holy Ground and Radiance. The man is totally a golden soul, in that although he is dripping with chops, technique and tone that the gods envy, he remains the most humble man, frequently complimenting and drawing attention to the talent of others.

Doug is a real inspiration as a guitar player. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Doug and Dimebag have the same very vertical fretting hand position when they solo, it's uncanny. Watch Dime and Doug, there is no diagonal placement of fretting fingers etc. Loved Doug in Dio & Whitesnake too. Keep Rockin Doug🤘🤘.

I say that all the time: I'm inspired by my guitar heroes, but never really wanted to be or copy them, really. Doug's just a great dude!

Doug Aldrich, the owner of the best hair in rock history. I have never seen a picture or video where his hair isn't absolutely perfect. hehe. I laugh, but I am dead serious. His hair is incredible, consistent..and I am extremely envious of it! Awesome player, too! He should get way more attention than he does. His peers and fellow players know how good he is..but he should be more of a household name amongst the 'casuals'.
