Thanks for the review mate! It is for sure a lot of bike. I like that Propain seems to be "creative" on still delivering a bike while parts are scarse. Still undecided between Spindrift and Tyee however ;-)
Have not been anywhere near the Tyee, but that seems like a nice bike too. What I like with the Spindrift is that it can come with mixed wheels (different rear end/shorter chainstay + 27,5). It would make the bike more of a playful bike park-bike I guess. Have not tested that version though. Anyway, great bike! Just wish I could test it with a stiffer coil spring.
@@MTBs Yeah, the mullet option is one of the pros for the Spindrift. The weight is one of the cons. Though the difference is not too big between Tyee and Spindrift.
The Spindrift is definitely a more gravity oriented bike made for big hits but that also happens to pedal well up fireroads. We will use it as a trail bike too, but the Tyee is probably a better option for trail riding. Since Wilmer will use this for competing (Enduro), this is the better choice for him.
Great review; I am waiting for my Spindrift - Propain is now 3 months late; even no chance to get it earlier by changing components ... I really like your review - you should do more!
Thank you! 😀 There will be more reviews and other MTB videos shortly. The Spindrift is worth the wait! Changing the configuration will most likely delay things, but if you get the question from Propain to go for a different component than ordered maybe it is a way to speed things up. Cheer!
Nice review, thanks for posting it. You mentioned that the suspension is a level up from the enduro ( if I heard that correctly ?) - how is the bike with continuous hits, like parts of the red trail in your video, with lots of rocks, roots and ruts for a continuous 50 metres for example ?
Thanks! 😀 Yes, I mean it's a level up component wise and in travel. The Zeb is definitely stiffer than the Lyric and the coil is more plush. The Enduro felt livlier on the other hand, it's a very fast bike. The Spindrift fairs very well on red and black trails, mostly thanks to the stiffer fork that does not get get stuck between obstacles as easily. The bike feels smooth over roots and rocks.
Great review wanted to get it for Christmas as a gift for myself but few days ago propain made it over 450€ more expensive for the same spec now i won't buy it and i need to see what bike too get😕
Thank you! Yes, Propain is increasingly raising the prices on all of their bikes unfortunately. It is not that good value for money as it was only a year ago. Still nice bikes though!
@@MTBs yes i really love the looks and all of it but unfortunately over 4000€ is too much. It did cost 3500€ before which is good value but i don't want to pay so much more or go down in spec crazy. Probably will buy a trek slash or something else.
Well, it is a bit on the heavy side but at the same time it is a long travel freeride bike so I am not too concerned. It is a gravity focused bike after all that can be pedalled on trails too. Go for it!
It's a gravity focused bike with no lockout, so unless you are not doing a lot of trail riding I would save some money and get the AL. But in the case of Fox or RS, I wouldn't pay more money for Fox. Fox and RS are in the same ballpark in my eyes. PS. This is just my opinion, I have not tested a carbon Spindrift.
nice i got my spindrift just a couple of days ago unfortunately i crashed in flottsbro right after grävet droppet right into a tree bike is fine tho so im glad
Seems like a good starting point, but it is impossible for me to say unfortunately. I know that many riders running coils have at least 2 springs, trial and error sort of. I think the coil that was on the bike in the video was 400 and that was too soft for my +90 kg of total weight (including clothes+camera bag).
Sprindex is an interesting suggestion. That would make it possible to dial in the spring rate with a better precision. It costs about 3-4 times the price of a regular spring, though...
Hi! That's so difficult to advice. I am 185 cm and for me L was fine. It is my nephew's Spindrift and he is 15 yo and is just under 180 cm, he was fine too but at the same time he is still growing. 450 in reach, isn't that a little bit too short for being 180 cm? Honestly, I don't know what to advice here, best is to test someone's Spindrift for yourself if you can find someone. Cheers!
Any issues since? I know headsets can get loose in the headtube on some bikes after few rides, I guess you did not get that issue, but I saw a German guy had the same issue with two Propain Rage frames, few runs and jumps and it was horrible play so he gave up. But nice you did not have the same experience. In this video his friends test the replacement frame, with few trails and few jumps, until the headset wiggles horribly. ruclips.net/video/f743blfFyro/видео.html In this video he tells he gave up, asked for refund. ruclips.net/video/WvbK9JwvPW0/видео.html So I am concerned about quality control, manufacturing.

Sorry, I forgot to ask, what way are the brakes set up - left side of handle bar controls the rear brake ?
No, they're setup the proper way. 🤣
Right lever=rear brake. Don't know if that can be specified when ordering.
i feel like the bike looks a little bit blue with the venomblack paint? does anyone else see that?
Great review!
Thank you for that!
btw where was this filmed looked like great trails
Isaberg Bike Park (Sweden, of course)

I am looking to buying the al version since its cheaper but it seems to be very heavy. Any Opinions?

@@MTBs If I have the money for the cf version with some small upgrades or for a al version with fox suspension and some extras wich should i get?

Why only 200 mm brake rotors for racing?
I think 200 mm is fine with Codes. The races we participaded in are very short, like 3 min runs so overheating wasn't an issue.

Ouch! Hope you're fine!
How do you like the rear suspension of the bike? The coil spring was too soft for me so I couln't really tell.
@@MTBs i have a air damper so its not to soft but i have not set the damper up yet so i cant really say buy in renting a shockwiz to set it up
@@MTBs maybe i could get back to you about the damper when i s set it up
Please do so! 😀
@@MTBs i set it up and it feels great on the jumps and technical stuff ive been trying it out at kisa mtb park such a good place def recommend
Will the 350lb spring be good for me if I ride lots of big jumps and weight 63kg? Its the same configuration.

When u way 63 perfect, check if u can afford a sprindex
That would give u so much Space to change spring rate
Sprindex is an interesting suggestion. That would make it possible to dial in the spring rate with a better precision. It costs about 3-4 times the price of a regular spring, though...
