There's SO many great songs from the sans-Tom 80's period. Would love to see the slower, bluesy version of "Borderline" they did at Trickfest one year. And there's a huge rocking version of "I Want Be Man" from One on One out there somewhere from that tour...thanks for this, incredible!!!!
I haven't seen Cheap Trick play this song since 1983 when "Next Position Please" came out and they were touring in support of that record. It different to see Tom Petersson playing a 4-string Fender Bass and not one of his custom 12-string basses. Thanks for the post.
@@jamesshort8385 Yes in a few couple of videos when he first joined the band after Pete left, he played a short scale Hamer 12 string bass. I think it's in the video "It's only love"
This is stellar. I've said it before and I will say it a zillion times, Robin Zander is the best singer in rock. And the sad thing is, not only is Cheap Trick not in the Rock Hall of Fame, but neither is Todd Rundgren and he produced EVERYBODY at one time or another.
why they are not in the rock n roll hall of fame is such a joke!!!! Cheap Trick is Rock n Roll and Robin has the greatest voice,,,thanks for posting this song...
Absolutely amazing performance. Zander is the greatest singer since Steve Marriott in my opinion and Trick has the greatest rhythm section in rock. (With Bun E. sorry Daxx)
One thing that's sets this band apart from the rest is that they will anything from their catalog. Most will never play deep tracks. Now that I've said that I'm sure alot of the last few albums we wont here live. I would love to hear floating down and how are you live. Anyone know if they ever played these?
Not sure about floating down but How are you is on live album, Music For Hangovers, Chicago, 1998. Wouldn't be surprised if they do play Floating Down in some of their performances...
Next Position Please is probably one of my top 5 CD's by the one and only Cheap Trick.
One of the most criminality underrated tracks of their catalogue!
I've said it a million times, but IMO they are the best American band period. Wonderful performance from a pretty darned good album.
Best American hard rock band is Van Halen world's greatest rock and roll band Cheap Trick
It's always great to watch a video of Cheap Tricking playing a song that you don't tend to hear that often. They do a great job live with this one.
Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Is there any song Robin Zander can't sing? 🤗

I dont think Jon Brandt ever did play a 12 string bass, did he?

Super live version of this killer NPP song. It's super cool to listen to the album version while talking to 420.
Very great, simply astounding!
Awesome Version. Would love to hear it live!
