  • Today's video is a changeup from my typical videos. Today I review the Stihl BG 56 leaf blower I've been using for 3 years now. I go over things such as power, weight, and performance in this video. Overall its a solid leaf blower and I highly recommend it! Hopefully this video helps those of you who are shopping foe a new leaf blower this fall.

    I agree. I gave my daughter one about five years ago and they have had no problems with it. I blow off their deck, walks and driveway with it when I am over there. I have gone through two Husqvarna 25B blowers in the same time frame. When my second 25B failed I said no more and went to my local Stihl dealer and bought a new BG 56C this morning. It cost me a little under $200. They filled it up with Moto Mix. I brought it home and put a cap full of Stihl Ultra two cycle oil in the tank, for break-in and topped off the tank with my two cycle tank with 50:1 Stihl ultra and premium, non ethanol gas. I have about a full tank through it, today, and I can tell the rings are beginning to seat, because it yanked back at me the last time I started it. When it stops moving around when I set it down I will know they have seated. Until then, it will get an extra cap full of oil with each fill up.

      Hope you like your new blower! I've had mine now for probably about 5 seasons and it's amazing. It can even move snow in the winter (as long as it's the light powdery type of course)

    I have this blower and I totally agree with everything you said.
    One other con is that it could have a sucking capability and not just blowing, since it has a reliable and pretty powerful motor.

    • @andyslawncareandoutdooradv
      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv  Год назад

      I believe you can buy a vacuum attachment for this unit so it can suck and shred. I'll have to look into that but I know some of the stihl blowers are compatible with that attachment

    • @georgem2456
      @georgem2456 Год назад

      @@andyslawncareandoutdooradv I just did and you are correct. But it's a bit of a pain in the butt because you have to remove the current attachments and put the other ones for the sucking ability.

      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv  Год назад +1

      @@georgem2456 it is a pain, but from what I hear the vacuum attachment is worth the money even though it takes a few minutes to install

    What type of oil and fuel stabilizer do you use?

    • @andyslawncareandoutdooradv
      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv  3 года назад +1

      For 2 stroke oil I use a Stihl 2 stroke engine oil and for stabilizer I use StaBil but I have also used seafoam in the past. Both work very well and I've had no issues

      For a gas blower this one is light(just over 9lbs) I have brought this one up and down a ladder just fine, but if you need an even lighter blower, take a look into the Stihl BG50. It weighs just under 8lbs and has similar power
