Final days of the 2022 lawn care season!
It's been a busy few months since I've last posted a video but I was able to film some content a few weeks back I closed out the 2022 lawn care season. In this video I'll take you through my final days out in the lawn for this season. I started by cleaning out my landscape beds and making sure they were nice and tidy heading into the winter months. Next, I moved out into the lawn and gave it one last cut to shave off some top growth and suck up all the leaves before the ground freezes over. Finally, I gave the lawn one last sugar rush by applying a winterizer fertilizer to go ahead and seal off the 2022 lawn care season!
Thank you all for making this 2022 lawn care season an amazing one! ...

Mid Summer Lawn Update- Dealing with Fungus in the Lawn!

It's been a while since you've seen my lawn, I've been quite busy recently. In this video I provide you with a Lawn Update in the middle of the summer. Overall, the weather hasn't been super extreme this year so my lawn has stayed somewhat green without too much water. However, I did get hit with some disease problems that I am addressing in today's video. My lawn developed a mild infestation o...
Late Spring Project Lawn Update- How is the Project Lawn Holding up?

We recapped all the treatments that were done this past spring and went ahead and put down the next round of fertilizer and disease control. We had a lit...
Late Spring Lawn Update- What I've Done to my Lawn this season so far!

It's been a while since you've seen me or my lawn for that matter. In today's video I provide with a Lawn update. I recap everything I've done since you've seen the lawn last in the early spring. The project lawn has returned for year 2!! First project lawn update and application of 2022

Many of you from last year might remember the project lawn I worked on. Well, it's back for another season!! In today's video I went back out to the project lawn to kick off this year's round of applications. Hi Andy, great video. I'm looking for a little help. I just bought a used 2450 and can't find the oil drain plug or oil fill location. What the heck is the secret? Thank you!

    • @andyslawncareandoutdooradv
      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv 5 месяцев назад

      The 2450 is a 2 cycle engine, meaning the oil and gas are mixed together, that's why there is no drain plug for the oil because the gas and oil are mixed together. Hope this helps!

    I have the same unit but yours throws snow much farther. What are some maintenance items i should check? I put a new carb on it and it does not seem down on power, just not throwing snow as much. Do the blades require maintenance?

    • @andyslawncareandoutdooradv
      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv 6 месяцев назад

      Yes the rubber paddles do wear down and require replacing overtime. There is a wear indicator hole on the corner of the paddles, if they've worn down to that point or past then it's time to replace the paddles. If the paddles need replacing, then you should also replace the scraper at the same time. Also check the belt if that's really stretched and worn it could contribute to lack of throw distance. Hope this helps!

      For a single stage it does great in the heavy stuff! Since this video (filmed 3 winters ago) I bought a used dual stage with some of the money i earned to have for the deep stuff since I usually help out 4-8 of my neighbors. Still kept the CCR and i use it for all the small to medium snows and honestly even though I have the dual stage I still use the CCR a lot just because it's so nice and light and packs a lot of punch for its small size, lot easier to maneuver in between cars too!

    • @andyslawncareandoutdooradv
      @andyslawncareandoutdooradv Год назад

      @Junior Haske I've only had the chance to use it on 3" of slushy snow one time. The machine did pretty well, I did spray the chute down with DuPoint snow and ice repellent (non-stick spray I bought at Ace hardware) before I used it. It doesn't throw the snow as far as it does light snow like I showed in this video. But it still has more than enough power to throw the wet stuff far enough for what i need. It only clogged one time on the 8 driveways I used it on and that was because I ran into a slush puddle on a sidewalk and that mix of mostly water and a bit of slush did clog it. But other than that one time it clogged it has done a pretty darn good with slushy snow, much better than a shovel that's for sure.

      The 2450 calls for 3800rpm, and the 3650 calls for 4000rpm (plus or minus 250 on either). I'm pretty sure a 3650 is simply a 2450 with rpm's bumped up, as they have the same 141cc engine. I have a 3650, and I can't say enough how bad ass it is for a single stage. That being said, I've found that both two stage and single stage blowers have their own realm. I use an 11hp two stage to quickly move deep stuff, and the 3650 to quickly move anything 10 inches or under. Took me a while to figure out that combo by experience here in southwest Michigan.

    I agree. I gave my daughter one about five years ago and they have had no problems with it. I blow off their deck, walks and driveway with it when I am over there. I have gone through two Husqvarna 25B blowers in the same time frame. When my second 25B failed I said no more and went to my local Stihl dealer and bought a new BG 56C this morning. It cost me a little under $200. They filled it up with Moto Mix. I brought it home and put a cap full of Stihl Ultra two cycle oil in the tank, for break-in and topped off the tank with my two cycle tank with 50:1 Stihl ultra and premium, non ethanol gas. I have about a full tank through it, today, and I can tell the rings are beginning to seat, because it yanked back at me the last time I started it. When it stops moving around when I set it down I will know they have seated. Until then, it will get an extra cap full of oil with each fill up.

      I believe you can buy a vacuum attachment for this unit so it can suck and shred. I'll have to look into that but I know some of the stihl blowers are compatible with that attachment

      @@andyslawncareandoutdooradv I just did and you are correct. But it's a bit of a pain in the butt because you have to remove the current attachments and put the other ones for the sucking ability.

      @@georgem2456 it is a pain, but from what I hear the vacuum attachment is worth the money even though it takes a few minutes to install

    Dollar Spot and some Brown Patch going on here too. Hit it with curative rate for propiconazole and azoxystrobin last week. Also some fert this week. Summer is burning up some lawns here. I'm doing ok with irrigation and no water restrictions thus far. Bee good!

      Disease seems to be a problem for many this year. Thankfully it wasn't too bad as far as heat goes in Chicago this year, only a few hot bursts and then otherwise seasonable for summer weather

    Hope you are having a great Summer Andy. Your lawn is looking good considering the time of year. Front held up great and back responded well to the fert and fungus control apps. Rain always helps too.

      Certainly does! We had rain last night and on and off today and the lawn is perking up more. Hoping to give it a dethatching next weekend and some fall fertilizer
