I really love that you have been putting the completed photo next to it while you work. I find it very helpful to see how you put into each layer. Sometimes I think I am done before I really should be.
What a great video. Lisa, I hope that you are feeling better. I really like how you included an image of the final piece while you were working. It really helped me break down and keep track of why you were doing certain techniques in certain areas. Please do it more often.
I love this fox painting. Such beautiful creatures and they are definitely one of my favourite animals. I'm always amazed by how life like your acrylic paintings are. I have seen loads of artists including yourself get amazing results with oils but not many get this level of detail with acrylic. I think it's a great medium, so it's really encouraging to see what can be done with them. I'm sorry you have been having problems with your health. I hope you are feeling better than you were and on the right track now. But try not to over do it in the meantime. X
Good to see you back Lisa. Love the fox and the background is really pleasing. Thanks for explaining how to use the colours in the background to achieve a fuzzy, yet 3 dimensional effect. The result (the fox is certainly to the fore) is so subtle it's stunning, if that makes sense? Take your time to get better, but it's so nice to have you back. 😀
Lisa, It is so great to see your work again. I sure do hope you are feeling much better. Please, do not over do it. You need to take time to get much better.
Sorry you've not been well. And YES! You are missed when you don't post...but get better quick! Your quirky humor and amazing teaching skills are such a delight and you have an affirming way with your critiques- i think i speak for more than just myself when i say- we will take you however we can get you! Thanks for another fine video and -love the fox and showing how you used a less complicated pallet but went to town on the contrast of textures. I dont airbrush much but i think i can create a background similarly to bring my subjects into focus better. Thanks for all your hard work and attention to quality videos!
Lisa.. thanks for this tutorial! I love it! I strive to paint as well as you do! I hope you get well real soon.. Sending more positive, healing energy to you. Once you are all better, I hope you can do more acrylic realistic paintings like this one!
This is Fantastic! Love the colours and the effect of the blending of two things in your painting, the background/foreground being one and then the fox, of course being the main subject. There's a gentle cohesiveness that's literally pleasing to look at. Just enough highlight to make the fox a separate entity without lifting from the canvas. This would be such a soothing piece to have in a room for someone who stresses easily or if there's anxiety for another. Love this one Lisa, Bravo👏👏😊💞 ****. Your live stream ideas are perfect!! And with you being able to "just" live stream will be so much fun, and being able to share more with you will be hugely beneficial and a yaaaay day😄👍💞😊 Sooo happy to see you doing as well as you are, I pray your feeling as well as you appear😉💞💞😊😊 missed ya bunches😁😁💖
Thank you so much for posting this video! It was very helpful. A few months ago I had my own fox painting in acrylic with an airbrushed background......and it was a disaster!! I actually painted over it in the end. I can see what I did wrong by watching your painting. Now I can try again! 😊🎨
A wonderful painting Lisa! That fox is sooooo cute! 😍 This video also motivates me to keep on working on my own acrylic painting. I'm currently in one of those stages when you look at it and think "This will never look good." But like you always say "Keep layering" :)
Miss you and your vids Lisa! You continue to be a true inspiration and make videos even though it's tough right now with your health. I really hope you get well soon :}
Great video Lisa! 😁 Happy to see you recovering. The fox came out beautifully! Let me know when you decide to go live, I have made sure to keep my Wednesday evenings scheduled for you. 😉
Thanks for letting me know. I thought that might it. I remembered my camera distorting the picture of a church I was trying to capture. But again thanks for your fabulous and informative videos.
You seem to use raw sienna in a lot of your paintings. I remember you used it for a tiger specifically. Is that color more prevalent in nature, or is it more personal preference?
I like a lot this painting .. the background explanation was very useful for me i'm still starting to use the airbrush in my painting and you help me to understand better some things ... maybe in your place i would have tried to make more contrast beetween the Fox and the background with some brighter colors but your Monochromatic/Natural look is nice too . I think also that we can't see well the painting in our monitors ... I use a Calibrated one on my Pc but i think that in real life it's even better . Goodluck with your work . You gain one more like on this video and a subscriber :) Bye
The funny thing is, when I'm working on my own pieces, I almost always run into times when I think it's looking terrible, but I never think that harshly about other people's work. Also, when you edit your time-lapse videos, on average, how much do you speed up each clip? Yours always seem like the perfect speed and a lot of mine are actually too fast.
As I listen to this video and Lisa says "This is not a paint by number".... and I'm working on a paint by number. HAHA. Totally taking a break from my actual painting.
Beverly Bryce, Ooh! I'd like very much to listen to those! Where are they, please? I know this is going to sound kind of silly, but I love listening to Lisa's advice, instruction, stories, etc. @Lachri Fine Art, since you've been away, I realize how accustomed I've become to the channel, the streams and everything! I feel like I have a friend who's missing rather than simply some random person who posts their work on RUclips. (I promise, I'm not creepy!) It's amazing to think of how many lives you must touch, & in joining the streams, the number of artists of various levels who enjoy what you do. You're amazing, Lisa! Thank you for being you. I really do hope your health begins to improve. My crohn's & Judas the Spine, (yes, I named it,) haven't been cooperative lately either. We do our best, one day at a time! Don't push it too much. @Beverley Bryce, I didn't mean to hijack your thread! We all need our Lisa "fix", lol! Is this colored pencil podcast here on RUclips, or is it on a website? I did listen to one of them quite some time ago, and found it very enjoyable, especially while I was working! 🖤
Barbra Loveless go to podcast. Not on RUclips. Your podcast app. If you don't have it already on your device then download the app and search for colored pencil podcast. There are over 100 episodes to listen to. I agree with you that lisa is amazing. I love her too.
The fox is fabulous but I do have one observation. The nose on the fox's snout seems to be front straight on although the fox is facing a little to one side. Sometimes video distorts pictures a bit. Hopefully I'm not being super critical. I am just learning and find your videos most wonderful.
I really love that you have been putting the completed photo next to it while you work. I find it very helpful to see how you put into each layer. Sometimes I think I am done before I really should be.
I have so been looking forward to seeing your tutorials again, you bring sunshine to my day, I hope you feel better soon

Love your work & the way you explain details.
I really love this. I love how you add your end result while you paint it. It really adds a lot!!! Beautiful painting!

Thank you for the tutorial lesson. I love the verities of the red fur coat on the fox. everything looks natural.
This is Fantastic!

Very nice painting and tough to make
Wow, this was so beautifully done... I'm sorry you haven't been well and hope you're feeling better.
Great painting would love to be as good a artist as you,
Just beautiful, Lisa👍
Holly crap, that's a huge painting. The fox is bigger than you! It must have taken forever! Well done!
I love it! Such beautiful colors:D
yeah shes great
amazing work
You really outdid yourself with this one! My favourite painting yet ♥👌
Beautiful like always ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent video!
Wonderful work! Could you please do a tutorial on how to choose the colors in the background to compliment the subject?
great painting
Which Patreon membership is the fox on please? Love it!
Do you use stencils for your background? I noticed that you don't get paint on your fox. Love your work!
when you're varnishing your paintings what do you use and what is best, a spray or a swipe on with a brush?
Savs ss check out Lisa's recent video where she is painting a peacock. She answers your questions in that video.
Victoria Arnott thanks!☺
how can I paint a background like this without using using an airbrush?
Thanks for letting me know. I thought that might it. I remembered my camera distorting the picture of a church I was trying to capture. But again thanks for your fabulous and informative videos.

Love this Lisa! Waiting for your livestream❤️
Have you used a ruling pen to paint grass? I paint on geso board and use one for thin lines.
Nope, a liner brush can give me more control and even thinner lines than a ruling pen :)
It's all about style

I don't own an air brush. Would it be possible to get a blurry background by using a mop brush to soften it?
wow amazing
Hey Lisa my name is Nathan and your awesome!
Do you think these colors would look good with a more green background?
How do I do this wirhout glaze
As I listen to this video and Lisa says "This is not a paint by number".... and I'm working on a paint by number. HAHA. Totally taking a break from my actual painting.
Go ahead and be lazy. Get well Lisa. I've been listening to you on the colored pencil podcast to get my fix.
Thanks :D I actually just finished recording this week's podcast, maybe it's time for a nap now lol!

Take the way that is best for you. We miss you and we will be happy when you are back, but please do it on your terms.
I absolutely love these tutorials except I also have a love/hate experience also since it really encourages me to buy new awesome art equipment :) lol

It's just the angle of the video, it distorts the image as I work :D
Is there anything you want to improve on your art?
Is it REALLY taking the lazy way out, or is it actually taking the FUN way out? XD
Genial
I hope you are okay. take care.
Its called wheat.
The thumbnail doesn't do this piece justice
Thanks, this is really one of those pieces that looks SOOOOOO much better in person.
