@@chrisestey7277 No, there was still stress. Johnny just made you forget about it until you fell asleep. I fell asleep watching Johnny Carson more times then I could possibly count.
I had the distinct honor of meeting Betty White in Hollywood in October 2013. She is pictured in my profile picture with me and my guide dog Jingles and Pauley Perrette. Jingles was the 2013 American Humane Hero Guide Dog of the Year and we traveled from New York to Hollywood to accept the Award, presented by Betty. An experience I will treasure for a lifetime! Betty showed me such kindness and was so genuine.
It’s insane to think she really was in the entertainment industry from the start of television. When she did this interview in 1977, she had already been a well known actress for more than 30 years. So much experience and wisdom, but always had a down to earth attitude the whole time. RIP Betty 😔
She was SUCH a beautiful woman all throughout her life. She was also very caring, gentle, and kind, and WHAT a sense of humor she had. A VERY special human being. Thanks Betty. Rest In Paradise Sweet Lady.❤🕯❤
Two wonderful celebrities! I watched Johnny Carson every night before I went to bed. It felt so good to go to bed with a smile on my face. Betty White is a treasure. Her love of life keeps her young at heart.
The passage of time is punctuated by the passing of its compelling talents, personalities, and characters. The passing of Betty White is a notable milestone on that timeline. She along with many of her era and generation will be missed by the generation they inspired and entertained through our television screens. RIP Ms. Betty White 🎕 🕊️ 💐
Betty White was probably the closest thing we will ever have to a Queen in this country in terms of how she was regarded and revered by so many people. She just had a regal presence about her that can't be taught.
This is why we all laid in bed in the dark every night to watch The Tonight Show. Warm, intimate moments like this. I miss the hell out of this show. Carson was the greatest.✌
And she had no idea that one of her greatest successes, The Golden Girls would be years away. She was 55 here (almost 56) and still looked great. Incredible!
Johnny Carson's as respectful to Betty White as he was to any guest - male or female - in 30 years of the Tonight Show. He understood her greatness as an actress & as a human being.
Johnny always loved having Betty on. She even guest-hosted the show more than once if I can recall. She's a real trooper. I'm glad she's still around (knock on wood).
When I was a kid growing up in the 60s I thought of Betty White only as a game show contestant and hosting New Year’s day’s Parades. But that all changed in the 70s when she got the part of Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore show. And now she is a show business legend. 99 years old and still growing strong.
Wonderful! One of our favorite ladies of all time. "Life With Elizabeth" was my family's introduction to Betty---and still funny today. Stay safe, everybody.
This is terrific. Johnny Carson was a BIG Television Star. Betty White was also a Television Star who was married to Alan Ludden, the Star of "Password, Plus, etc."
Ya gotta love Betty. I recall some TV show she was one which I liked when I was a flippin’ toddler way back in the very early 1950s. So, I’ve been a fan for verrryyyyy long time.
Just that last line….’No I have more things I want to say’ is comedy gold. Her timing and delivery always impeccable and that sly smile❤❤❤👍…Miss you and love you Betty.
great conversation.. i wouldn't call it an interview with a guest... great respect between them all... even betty mentioning her show got axed ... just shows the mutual respect they have for each other and they know the business... it's tough
That joke of having a huge celebrity visiting a character's party but you never seen them, just hear their voice in the dark as the power goes out sounds like something that would still get a great reaction nowadays.
episode 3820: The other guest was Jack Albertson and Gabriel Melgar (Chico and the Man). The musical guest was singer Donna Theodore with pianist Eubie Blake. Desk- "Sexual Signals"
Isn't that great, a talk show where people talk instead of always looking for a cheap laugh. Today's talk shows, if you can call them that, are unwatchable.
Great clip, was waiting for them to mention What's My Line? They were both great as substitute panelists. Even back then you knew they were distend for bigger things.
The 3 networks are fighting for their lives? LOL! That was when they only had each other to worry about. Now they've competition from 8,000 other channels and numerous other platforms.
Man, what a class act Betty was. Just lightning quick and delightful and charming. Doesn't get any more legendary than her. Just doesn't.
God I love her! So sorry she's gone. Had to happen eventually. What a beauty she was, inside and out!
Johnny's been gone so long it almost seems like dream that he was ever there. Did any of us realize just how good we had it?
Oh yeah!
Here here!
No , thats why it was Really good.It just was life without the stress. The only type worth living.

I love Betty White. Highly intelligent, composed & graceful. A charming lady. She mocks herself which shows her secure personality. Bless her.
I never fully appreciated how smooth and humble Johnny was til I started watching all these years later.
She is 99 as of March 2021 and born January 17, 1922. A true star.

Pretty cool to realize that, at 55, Betty was hardly halfway through her life ❤ the world has been so blessed all these years!
Cannot help but like her.
I love her dress. That color looks great on her
She could wear a dress made of that couch pattern fabric and look good.
I have to say she looks sexy!!!

I love johnny carson and all his funny shows there will never be this kind of humor and acting again. I'll listen to these until I die.
Absolute class no wonder Johnny was so beloved.

Man she had one of the craziest careers. He is talking to her as a legend here and Golden Girls was still 8 years away
You can tell that Johnny isn't interviewing Betty here. He's simply talking to an old friend whom he obviously greatly appreciates and admires.
Johnny always loved having Betty on. She even guest-hosted the show more than once if I can recall. She's a real trooper. I'm glad she's still around (knock on wood).
Remembering her on this night of her passing. :*( She was a special lady.

H, how I loved Eubie Blake. (And f course, Betty.)
She look about 15 years younger than she was. #legends
Two legends.

She was so with it and on top of her game until her 90's. I hope I'm half that mentally quick when I'm that old.
Happy birthday Betty White
The Mary Tyler Moore show was amazing!
This woman was beautiful and charming. And wickedly funny.
All hail Betty.
Betty White is a delight
I remember that episode of MTM........super funny.
I didn’t ever see that ep on MTM. Shoot.
I didn’t know there was a Betty White Show. A few years later the Golden Girls. I first saw her on the Carol Burnett Show in the family sketches.
The actors and actresses who got their chops on stage or live TV were very talented people.
I shouldn't be looking at Betty this way. Really nice looking woman.
Johnny's tonight show was like watching a good baseball game...not the manic late night shows we have now.
imagine if she continued the betty white show, the golden girls might of never happened, wow 😳
Most sitcoms back then didn't go don't go past 7 years... so, she still could have done Golden Girls.
