Whoever you pick for the lead, you should include the other character who shares their storyline. Duran/Angela, Charlotte/Kevin and Riesz/Hawkeye are the pairs who share a storyline.
Because there is no longer any cap to the numbers of each healing items in your inventory, having a dedicated healer is even less necessary than in the original. Playing on hard mode candies heal 200 hp which is basically to full at the start
Does this apply to Charlotte/Kevin though? In Seiken Densetsu 3, those two had no chemistry together and picking both basically gave you nothing as far a dialog is concerned.
@@rocketprime I have a question besides the boss will the pair you stated above affect the storyline significantly besides the bosses? Just bought the game and I love me some story telling.

I've played this game for 8 hours on the day I got it and I'm loving it. It's kinda like Octopath Traveler, but with real-time combat instead of turn-based.
The original Seiken Densetsu 3 (or Trials of Mana) that came out in 1995 is essentially the grandad of Octopath traveler. If you liked Octopath, you'll love Trials.

.....it’s kinda like octopath traveler? Pls u speak as if the game is base on octopath traveler. This game came out back in 1995z also another thing. There’s almost nothing the same. Except for the story (both are quite different too) and the class system.
@@phantomhearts5577 I didn't say they were the same and that one was based on the other. You are misinterpreting what I said. @@thedeterminater8757 I am loving the changes made. The ability system truly rebalanced classes and characters. ( e.g. Kevin might be a powerhouse but Charlotte gets good Spirit and luck passives )
Good video! If you don't mind, i'll add some more info: Kevin light class have pressure point, making him strong as he is on werewolf form on lightday! And dark class used to be the best raw damage of the game. Duran dark class and charlotte light class has elemental buffs(ice, thunder, earth and fire) They can buff your weapon with elemental damange, pretty strong against almost all bosses on the game. On third class they receive some unique buffs: Duran DD: Dark saber Duran DL: Leaf saber (MP steal) and moon saber (life steal) Duran LD: Saint Saber Charlotte LD: Saint saber. *Kevin LL class also have leaf Saber!
I usually start by choosing a Route, choose both of them, then put Charlotte into slot three. Not only as a healer, but also because having her in slot three gives you a full team before the first boss. When doing her and Kevin's route, I used to fill slot 2 with Hawkeye to deal with trapped chests. However, as the remake does away with that mechanic, I'll probably experiment with other team comps.
I wishlisted Trials Of Mana on Steam, so this video is a great help. I'm one of the guys simping Riesz and her team support classes, plus I'd want Hawkeye's versatility, and either Duran or Kevin tanking. Get your head outta there, please.
FireBomberBassist yea it really is the only voice clip that gets anoying is when she jumps or rolls it sounds like the word yeet if you don’t know which one i’m talking about other than that it’s perfect
Having played the SFAM version a lot of times, I'd say one of the strengths of the game is replaying. You have to play 3 times to get all the endings, you'll want to replay more to try all the classes, and find better combinations. So don't sweat it too much, experiment!
Yeah, there wasn't really any need to create a perfect combination as all groups could essentially beat the game. I'm looking forward to seeing if Necromancer is any good in the remake, as it was probably one of Carlie's worst classes in the original, iirc. In the original summons were basically just on screen effects, so I'm looking forward to seeing if they change that in the remake. That said, my predownload does not seem to be working so I'm getting rather frustrated. Kind of disappointed Kevin and Duran actually cover up way more the more they change classes. Whereas the others lose clothing for the most part. Also a little sad Kevin's wolf transformations weren't shown.
Good Video with advice. However this is a remake therefore there are could be some changed by comparaison of the orginal. But I think what you said will be true in the remake. My team will be Riesz - Star Lance Hawkeye - Master Ninja Charlotte - Necromancer
i am super indecisive with rpg parties that are highly variable and locked after a certain point, so many restarts in divinity orginal sin 2 and pillars of eternity 2,so much lost time.
@@forzakule No *new* story. The game is split into 3 paths and the path you take depends on who you choose as your main character. After you beat one path, you can go into new game plus to beat the other two paths or replay the same path.
Thanks for the video, short while informative. Angela(main) rune master + Reisz starlancer + Charlotte Warlock i guess. Through Hawkeye nightblade instead of Charlotte also fits nice.
Speaking of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud is like Duran. Barret is like Angela. Aerith is like Charlotte. Tifa is like Kevin. Cid is like Riesz. Yuffie is like Hawkeye. Speaking of Final Fantasy X, Hawkeye is a combination of Tidus and Rikku. Yuna is like Charlotte. Auron is like Duran. Kimahri is like Riesz. Angela is a combination of Wakka and Lulu. 1. Game is good. I hope they will remake Legend of Mana now. 2. Voice actors are not bad, they simply don't fit most of the characters. Shade is good. Other mana spirits sound comically. Most of female characters are good. Male characters - depends. They simply had to lower load on existing voice actors and buy hours from other voice actors. 3. Battle system is underdeveloped and lacks simple commands for companions - back off, stand still, attack, cast/dont'cast. Game gives you plenty of candies to compensate it, however this brings less satisfaction from wins.
Can't wait to play this! 😁 Been doing some research, and I think my initial party is gonna be: Kevin (protagonist): Fatal Fist (high dps) Charlotte: Necromancer (healing + debuffing) Reisz: Star Lancer (group buffing) The idea being that between Charlotte's debuff curse and Reisz's buffing, Kevin's high dps will be even more stupidly high. And Charlotte can keep the party alive with healing while not debuffing.
Solid plan. I can't speak for the remake, but in the original, buffing and debuffing were very useful. Using both together made the final boss almost too easy.
@@craigfunk3453 ToM Remake is my first time playing ToM/SD3, and my knowledge comes mostly from researching the classes and what they do without looking into the story and world (out of fear of spoilers). @@fellowmemer5693 Hmm Charlotte is the main healer of the game so her. Unless you roll with Kevin who's light classes heal as well. But personally I'd go with Charlotte if you want an absolute healer
OOOh, great video. I didnt know theres so many classes for each character. I have three demo files saved with different characters! I get to have fun playing!
I have misheard a bunch of the classes names so i'll also misspell them but Run 1 Angela Magist (?) Duran Liege Kevin Fatal Fist Run 2 Riesz Starlancer Charlotte High Cleric Hawkeye Night blade or Ninja master
TBH, all class combinations can be made to work together and I find min-maxing party builds in a lot of ways detracts from the fun of seeing and experimenting with the different combinations just to get different character interactions, or experimenting with different strategies (IE taking Buff Reisz leads to a different style of play than her debuff classes). I think a more interesting exercise would be to determine which set is best supported as the "canon" party. IMO, I think it's Duran as the Mana Knight and Angela as Companion 1: 1) Duran appears to be the most prominent character in the marketing. He's splashed front and center on the game box and title screen, was used in the demo, featured heavily in the trailer, most strongly resembles the heroes of FFA and SoM, and of the six is the only one who actually USES a sword, making him best suited as the Sword's wielder (even if you don't get to use it in the game). 2) Angela connects as his companion by default since they share a plot and main villain, with Angela having the most personal connection to the Crimson Wizard. In addition her kingdom is invading Duran's, which naturally places them together. There's also the implications that Angela is the Hero King's daughter (more on him in a moment). 3) Duran and Angela undergo the most character development of the six. While all six characters do set their personal motivations aside for the greater good, Duran and Angela experience the most personal growth and the others are more static (Reisz, Hawkeye, Kevin, and Charlotte all demonstrate more compassion and selflessness from the start, whereas for Duran and Angela they begin the game much more self-centered and selfish, and only begin to demonstrate their nobler qualities as they progress). Duran and Angela's individual story paths are also much more closely intertwined than the other story path pairs, with them even sharing an ending if both are in the party, in which Angela hints at her attraction to Duran. 4) Valsena, Duran's home, has the most plot significance of the six kingdoms. While the player must still save Laurent and their actions put Wendel at risk, these locations are only visited once by the plot. Additionally, the three aggressor kingdoms are only relevant to the player in their own branch. however Valsena is visited in all three branches, and it largely becomes the player's central base of operations in the search for the Mana Stones, being revisited many times to advance the plot. 5) King Richard himself is one of the player's main sources of advice and exposition after Faerie. However I think it's especially significant that the King himself was once bonded to a faerie during the war against the Dragon Lord. The game goes out of its way to establish the significance of faeries appearing in the world, so the fact the King had been bonded during the last battle against the Dragon Lord adds further weight to the idea that he is indeed the game's "main" Big Bad.
well ^_^ Kevin is a DPS monster by default so no troubles there. but Angela is a better DPS monster than duran. Angie+ Kevin = total annihalation :D 3rd char doesn't even matter anymore but yeah either Riesz for buffing or Charlotte for healz.
For Angela, once you figure out how to sustain MP pretty good, stack magic damage and critical chances then play as her and she becomes the most OP character in the game. You'll breeze through most fights easily.
i picked the characters i visually liked lol but i have to say im very satisfied that i went with angela as my first through main. her grand diviner class' passive is great as i can wipe out enemy groups and regain the mp i used. i had duran as my 2nd, which turns out having connecting stories to angela which is great, and hawkeye as my 3rd. both duran and hawkeye are melee dps with hawkeye also debuff enemies. i mainly play as angela and nuke enemies from a save distance while healing duran and hawkeye with items, which is quite effective for my first play through c:
I think they did the connecting stories with Angela and Duran better than any other story branch pair. They even have a special ending scene if both characters are in the party together (granted, I haven't seen Kevin/Charlotte's ending yet, but I know they didn't give a shared ending to Reisz/Hawkeye).
I've never played the older games, but I'm really excited for this. I'm thinking I'm gonna go Duran (Paladin or Knight), Kevin (maybe ascendant?), and Rieze (the one where she summons and supports)
Play the Trials of Mana release on Switch (Collection of Mana) or SNES Classic, as both are multiplayer :) Same with Secret of Mana, which is 1-3 players.
My first party is Charlotte (sage), Duran (paladin), Riesz (Fenrir Knight) This party has decent damage since all 3 class I choose are not damage dealer type and will be a bit weak as tier 2. But what they have is survivability and light attacks for end game. Charlotte multi heal + Duran paladin skill Guard, which take 30% damage for your allies, will keep your party alive all the time.
Ha, I did that party when I played through on Collections of Mana. TBH, I always want to have Angela in my party. For no other reason than she's simply a FUN character just for her interactions and personality (I don't know why Reisz is so much more popular. Her character is just so flat and boring).
@@Ambaryerno same here! i love Angie so much haha her VA did a great job reflecting her sassy and snobby nature. it is a shame Riesz's VA is so robotic...
Are there locked chests in the remake? Because there's not in the original. Also *any* character with high luck may be able to ignore traps, not just Hawkeye. So these "unique abilities" you mention are not unique at all. What's unique about Hawkeye are things we don't know yet, since we don't know equippable passives he gets beyond his first class (including abilities that any party member can equip). tl;dr- don't spread misinformation.
@@magus13131 I think they basically removed traps completely from the game. Really disappointed with that. I liked it and it gave Hawk something fairly exclusive. Sure, you could push luck with anyone, but Hawk would always be the best if you did that regardless once you maxed everyone I think. Wondering if characters will have maxed stats on the remake. Luck only seems to determine how often you get items from battles now. Made my Angela pretty busted from the get go because of all the coins and magic items you could get in the demo from it.
this game looks so like so much fun. Duran and rise for sure, as for the 3rd member I don't know. But damn, I wish they would let you have 4 active party members.
My first playthrough was Riesz Dark/Light, Kevin Dark/Dark, and Angela Light/Light(Went in blind, and quietly hoped she would get a healing spell... nope, and AI really sucked at keeping her out of harm's way instead just rushing her in middle of things and smacking enemies with wand half the time...), nonetheless only battles that gave me any trouble were the vampire guy, whom I think is exclusive to Riesz and Hawkeye storylines, and also the post-game dungeon boss. And both of those mostly due to AI idiocy getting it killed constantly and me running out of the 9 revives we have per battle... I wasn't playing on Hard though XD
My favorite characters are Kevin, Charlotte and Hawkeye. My least favorite is Angela, yes she's amazing at her magic but she sucks at everything...but at least she's funny and has some good looking costumes when she class changes
Few things that restrict me. Shared storylines. And characters that appear just to get left behind. Just pick Charlotte as the third character and see what happens after you defeat full metal hugger.
I kinda picked by necessity. Without looking at too much guides. I chose Kevin for offense, Riesz for mid to long range attack and support magic and Charlotte for healing.
Great video as always, think im gonna go with Angela(for her clones),the Werewolf(cause it sounds fun) and the Healer cause you said the magic word ''Warlock''!!!! Thanks man
Donnu about Duran, Angela ,and that healer girl, but Kevin is absolutely op in end game. All his CS moves are strong , and he has access to that insane -35% CS cost. Pair that with the cactus chain skill and you can literally just spam one CS3 (cost 200% only) to end every battle in 5 seconds without exception. (Kevin move 3 is a perfect big aoe that does insane dm to all enemies in an area) CS 2 can be used to target moving bosses during some mechanic phase (Like the super annoying ghost phase) since it literally pauses movement of boss while doing high damage. CS4 damage is absolutely insane against the secret boss too (It literally hit her like 4 times per hit due to her size, leading to some juicy OHKO with CS4 in last phase) His normal attack is insane too on top of having the highest crit rate in the game. Kevin is quite a bit lacking when he's only class 2 but becomes disgustingly op at CS3/CS4. The other 2 toons Reiz and Hawkeye can't even compare. Reiz ended up become my buffer and spell aoe distractor, while Hawkeye is just there... (negligible in most cases. He has stupid AI too)
In the original game, going full light for Charlotte gave her the Turn Undead spell, which was like Death for the undead. And the final boss for said story arc was an undead being. Get Charlotte up to Lv 51, and for 1 MP she can pull off more damage than Angela ever could, or Kevin for that matter.
Ff7R Wasnt that bad though. It was great up till the end, which admittedly could have been handled better. But if square is smart, they'll use the ending of part one to set up a more player driven experience in Part's 2 and beyond. But that's only if the whispers of fate stay dead as the end of part 1 implies
@@RaifSeverence unfortunately it just doesn't appeal to me much and there's a good chance I'll never play it, or at least not for a long time (only own a switch and no gaming PC or PS4). I can't believe they messed with the story, as if completely overhauling the gameplay wasn't enough of an insult to fans of the original
I know it's not optimal, but thanks for this, my team comp will just be summoner, necromancer, and great diviner just because filling the board will be hilarious.
Currently doing 2 side by side play throughs. Angela, Hawkeye, Charlotte Duran, Kevin, Riesz. Hopefully it’ll work out the game doesn’t seem to difficult on hard at lvl 12....
Angela's Doppelganger spell does NOT create clones that can attack on their own (not in gameplay anyways), the spell (in-game) is just her using an illusionary copy of herself as ranged weapon projectile! I was actually quite excited about the Grand Diviner class for Angela most especially because of your misleading information about the spell. However, since I checked another video, seeing what the spell actually does, I disappointed. Just thought you should know that you made an error here. You got the idea right in terms of how it would likely work in an anime of this or something, but sadly, that's not how it works in the game.
I ended up picking Duran as main and Angela + Charlotte as my companions. Duran started out pretty strong, but he's outclassed by Angela now whom is actually my favorite so far. Sucks I can't change mains until NG+. I'm probably going to pick Hawkeye + Riesz + Angela next time through then on the third one do Kevin + Charlotte + ??? dunno depends on whom I liked the best, but so far Angela seems to be a good all around character. EDIT: Also, this game is REALLY easy on normal. I'm taking it up to max level difficulty next time around.
Is importante to say if they follow the same story like the original every character has is share story with another like Kevin-carlie, duran-Ángela and hawkeye-lise
Even though Kevin’s light classes can heal, I’ve never heard him referred to as a ”support” character 🤣 He’s undeniably the highest DPS in the original game; close in the day maybe, undeniable at night. Maybe the changed mechanics of this remake will balance things out a bit and make it competitive
Well warrior monk is the best healer in the game outside of Charlotte, and has wood saber to help both himself and any heavy mp users in the party so it makes sense. He’s Beast mode either way though xD
Hawntbawt I found Warrior Monk to be the worst of his classes. Tree Saber is actually underwhelming because it’s rarely the element you need (it’s only a buff against Moon element), and those who need it do little physical damage reaping little MP back. Prefer to use MP restore items as the old game is designed for it. It also turns Kevin into more of a full time healer, and now caster for that saber, who should he doing damage. Lastly, Warrior Monk was the only 3rd job of Kevin’s to lack a fullscreen tech (class strike) unless he used the one obtained frIm his second job - Whirlwind Kick. Class strikes seem different now so maybe this isn’t the case against Warrior anymore. If Tree Saber changes and now magic damage returns a percentage as MP letting casters unload without constraints, we have a new equation that makes me value it.
So what are the other supports than Charlotte? I will never use charlotte on my team as I think the character is lame... I was thinking on using Kevin as support.
@@Softlol Riesz(Lice in the fan translation which I refer to her as) is the main "Support character". Her dark class teaches debuffs, her light class teaches buffs( these are the first class changes). Carlie, or Charlotte as the official translations call her, is the healer. Duran and Kevin can both learn her heal spell, but it can't be multi targeted with them in the original(in the original you learn single target then pump more into the stat to learn multi target for most spells, though Duran and Kevin can't multi target). Duran can also learn saber spells which imbue your weapon with elements and there's one that gives you healing on attacks, Kevin might also learn these in one class can't remember. That said, you'll be waiting MUCH LONGER if you want these guys to be healers, as Carlie learns heal light in her base class. Her story is also pretty good I'd say so she's worth trying out. Honestly Kevin annoyed me more than Carlie. It seemed like he could talk properly in some areas and that he was just delaying his speech and speaking oddly on purpose. Either way all the characters imo are worth playing at least once. Also keep in mind your character's classes will be set from the get go if you want someone to be a healer that's not Carlie.
Completed the game and just unlocked the second story today. I can say, I couldn't imagine not having one for some of the end bosses you have to fight. Without one it's absolutely going to be tough. --My team-- Duran: Paladin Riesz: Dragon Master Charlotte: High Cleric
If i pick up this game i'll most likely pick Duran(because i like sword fighters), Angela(because i like spellcasters), and Kevin(because i like werewolves and other monsters).
first pick: any of these duran, hawkeye, kevin second pick: angela third: any once angela is strong (0mp and lement beam)... can finished the enemy instant
Black Rabite buff + Magus Class = Unlimited Ancient Curse. The MP cost is literally the only thing that hkeeps Ancient Curse from being broken is the relatively stiff MP cost.
My favorite boss killing duo from the original SNES version was Hawkeye the Ninja Master and Reisz, the Star Lancer. Buffing with one and debuffing with the other pretty much meant I was able to tank the hardest final boss in the game, even with Duran as my healer. Then again, I could have used Charlotte the necromancer instead of Hawkeye as my dedicated debuffer, but that would mean waiting until late game to even be able to debuff.
Valsena (sp?) has a few, including all the elemental resistance shields. Best equipment will always come randomly from seeds of course, especially gold/rainbow seeds (recommend saving before each planting).
@@michaelmcclelland9876 been a while since I saw it spelled, I want to say it’s Valcena, don’t recall. Thanks, already doing the other 3 characters in my second playthrough. Thanks, and best wishes:)
Riesz is more of a physical attacker than a jack-of-all-trades. She has higher STR and VIT than Hawkeye. (At least she does in the SNES version.) I used to pick her instead of Duran because her slightly lower STR is more than made up for with her buffs or debuffs. My party is Keven, Riesz and Charlotte.

@@thedeterminater8757 I am loving the changes made. The ability system truly rebalanced classes and characters. ( e.g. Kevin might be a powerhouse but Charlotte gets good Spirit and luck passives )
Good video! If you don't mind, i'll add some more info:
Kevin light class have pressure point, making him strong as he is on werewolf form on lightday! And dark class used to be the best raw damage of the game.
Duran dark class and charlotte light class has elemental buffs(ice, thunder, earth and fire) They can buff your weapon with elemental damange, pretty strong against almost all bosses on the game. On third class they receive some unique buffs:
Duran DD: Dark saber
Duran DL: Leaf saber (MP steal) and moon saber (life steal)
Duran LD: Saint Saber
Charlotte LD: Saint saber.
I was so disappointed in trapped chests being removed tbh.
Charlotte and Kevin were always my go-to combo. Charlotte provides the healing and saber magic, which makes Kevin an unstoppable force of pure damage.
Went Duran as main, Angela and Riesz
When i got the game i just picked the three i liked. Glad to know they aren't too incompatible. Thanks!
Den's Gaming Den Same!
I wishlisted Trials Of Mana on Steam, so this video is a great help.
I'm one of the guys simping Riesz and her team support classes, plus I'd want Hawkeye's versatility, and either Duran or Kevin tanking.
Get your head outta there, please.
I love Angelas valleygirl voice sometimes. Its surprisingly fitting.
I ship you with Angela from now on
Jaden Quest 💕
I've been told I do a good valleygirl accent. However I'm also a perfectionist when it comes to accents so I get mad at myself if I do it wrong.
FireBomberBassist yea it really is the only voice clip that gets anoying is when she jumps or rolls it sounds like the word yeet if you don’t know which one i’m talking about other than that it’s perfect
@@Kurumithespiritnightmare now that you mention it, it does kinda sound like she's yelling out yeet when she does an evade.
Charlotte is so much fun. 💖 I liked her best as Sage and Necromancer.
Hawkeye, Kevin, and Charlotte were always my go-to team! Nightblade + Death Hand + Bishop was ridiculous
I run Kevin as main then Angela and Riesz. Pretty much a harem
My team will be
Riesz - Star Lance
Hawkeye - Master Ninja
Charlotte - Necromancer
NInja Master and Necromancer in the same team ? Black Curse and the Jutsus serve the same purpose.
I didn't expected the little girl to be a necromancer or a warlock.
i am super indecisive with rpg parties that are highly variable and locked after a certain point, so many restarts in divinity orginal sin 2 and pillars of eternity 2,so much lost time.
The game is designed around multiple playthrough especially with the added new game +
I am too. Like highly indecisive. I already restated twice because I cant decide what party I want. So far, I'm with Kevin, riesz, and Charlotte
@@zaneomega2 what does the new game + add?
@@ellimoraazul2095 You can freely choose a new set of 3 party members and get to keep all your past abilities, chain abilities, levels, and money.
@@forzakule No *new* story. The game is split into 3 paths and the path you take depends on who you choose as your main character. After you beat one path, you can go into new game plus to beat the other two paths or replay the same path.
Bro wtf. I didnt know there was a remake! This was my favorite part of the game since I was at primary. dang this brings back memories...
My team are Kevin Charlotte and Hawkeye form the demo I picked them they became my trusted team
Thanks for the video, short while informative.
Angela(main) rune master + Reisz starlancer + Charlotte Warlock i guess. Through Hawkeye nightblade instead of Charlotte also fits nice.
I like how you danced around big spoilers with the backstory. Good stuff man.
Tidus + Rikku = Hawkeye
Wakka + Lulu = Angela
Speaking of Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning is like Duran. Sazh is like Angela. Snow is like Kevin. Vanille is like Hawkeye. Hope is like Charlotte. Fang is like Riesz.
1. Game is good. I hope they will remake Legend of Mana now.
2. Voice actors are not bad, they simply don't fit most of the
characters. Shade is good. Other mana spirits sound comically. Most of
female characters are good. Male characters - depends. They simply had
to lower load on existing voice actors and buy hours from other voice
actors.
3. Battle system is underdeveloped and lacks simple commands for
companions - back off, stand still, attack, cast/dont'cast. Game gives
you plenty of candies to compensate it, however this brings less
satisfaction from wins.
Can't wait to play this! 😁
Been doing some research, and I think my initial party is gonna be:
Kevin (protagonist): Fatal Fist (high dps)
Charlotte: Necromancer (healing + debuffing)
Reisz: Star Lancer (group buffing)
The idea being that between Charlotte's debuff curse and Reisz's buffing, Kevin's high dps will be even more stupidly high. And Charlotte can keep the party alive with healing while not debuffing.
Solid plan. I can't speak for the remake, but in the original, buffing and debuffing were very useful. Using both together made the final boss almost too easy.
I prefer to use Charlotte as high cleric for her and Kevin's story because of the hordes of undead she can eliminate via turn undead
@@craigfunk3453 ToM Remake is my first time playing ToM/SD3, and my knowledge comes mostly from researching the classes and what they do without looking into the story and world (out of fear of spoilers). Luckily, I heard that there is a rare item that allows the reverting of class choices somewhere in the remake, so if I found I made a major "oopsie" I shouldn't be totally s.o.l.
@@FeatherhoofGaming you don't get those class reset items (only 6 in the game) until end game/post game
@@craigfunk3453 Still, they exist. And also being able to reclass in NG+ will give me plenty of opportunities to experiment across multiple playthroughs and party make ups 🙂
Can’t wait to play this game on Friday. Will main Angela and have Duran and Riesz as my party members. I might also go dark path for Angela and Riesz because dark path=more skin.
Gaddammit dude xD
Oh well, since you're going down the dark path, I'd recommend Dragon Master to Riesz for that sweet Jourmungand summon for great dmg and poison, or if you like AoE buffs, the Fenrir Knight is your best option.
And happy Mana Friday!
Rune Seer Angela, Liege Duran, Starlancer Riesz for me.
I will be using
Angela as main, Delvar -> Rune Master class for the level 3 spells
Kevin as Monk -> Warrior Monk for multihealing and mp recovery
Riesz as Valkyrie -> Star Lancer for buffs
Nice balance! I may go into using my og team of Kevin Angela and Hawkeye though I think I went all dark route in the SNES version. This time I may mix it up and do the same with warrior monk. Butttt dark is so tempting lol
@@Its_an_Eze who do you think is best suited for healing? Or is anyone able to be a support/good healer?
@@fellowmemer5693 Hmm Charlotte is the main healer of the game so her. Unless you roll with Kevin who's light classes heal as well. But personally I'd go with Charlotte if you want an absolute healer
Da Maverick Blast legit going to use the same team lol
@@Its_an_Eze Is having a healer that important really?
my team would be: Duran, Angela and Riesz. Tank, DPS and Support. i cannot play with a Kevin, sorry. xD
OOOh, great video. I didnt know theres so many classes for each character. I have three demo files saved with different characters! I get to have fun playing!
I have misheard a bunch of the classes names so i'll also misspell them but
Run 1
Angela Magist (?)
Duran Liege
Kevin Fatal Fist
Run 2
Riesz Starlancer
Charlotte High Cleric
Hawkeye Night blade or Ninja master
Exactly what I'm doing!!
Angela Magus*! I guess everybody forgot how to speak Chrono Trigger's broody anti hero huh XD
IMO, I think it's Duran as the Mana Knight and Angela as Companion 1:
1) Duran appears to be the most prominent character in the marketing.
In the demo, I picked Duran, Charlotte, Kevin.
I'll make Charlotte the healer and make Duran and Kevin be DPS monsters.
I usually pick Kevin, Angela and Charlotte in the original game. Because some enemies require that range.
well ^_^ Kevin is a DPS monster by default so no troubles there. but Angela is a better DPS monster than duran.
Yea, when I got ancient curse I started 1 shotting fights
Angela is the most destructive char of the game in both versions. She's like a godess!
i picked the characters i visually liked lol but i have to say im very satisfied that i went with angela as my first through main. her grand diviner class' passive is great as i can wipe out enemy groups and regain the mp i used.
i had duran as my 2nd, which turns out having connecting stories to angela which is great, and hawkeye as my 3rd. both duran and hawkeye are melee dps with hawkeye also debuff enemies. i mainly play as angela and nuke enemies from a save distance while healing duran and hawkeye with items, which is quite effective for my first play through c:
I think they did the connecting stories with Angela and Duran better than any other story branch pair. They even have a special ending scene if both characters are in the party together (granted, I haven't seen Kevin/Charlotte's ending yet, but I know they didn't give a shared ending to Reisz/Hawkeye).
I was thinking about choosing the same team!
I don’t know how I found your channel but I’m glad I did
I've never played the older games, but I'm really excited for this. I'm thinking I'm gonna go Duran (Paladin or Knight), Kevin (maybe ascendant?), and Rieze (the one where she summons and supports)
All of Riesz's classes have summons and support.
Kevin with his drain attacks and Angela with the doppelgangers. I just love drain damage and auto attacking clones.
Angela is best wife. My mind cannot be changed.
If this game had multiplayer it would have been legendary. I would had loved to play this with my wife!!
Play the Trials of Mana release on Switch (Collection of Mana) or SNES Classic, as both are multiplayer :) Same with Secret of Mana, which is 1-3 players.
My first party is Charlotte (sage), Duran (paladin), Riesz (Fenrir Knight)
This party has decent damage since all 3 class I choose are not damage dealer type and will be a bit weak as tier 2. But what they have is survivability and light attacks for end game.
Charlotte multi heal + Duran paladin skill Guard, which take 30% damage for your allies, will keep your party alive all the time.
I seen there was a 4th class unlock as well which is awesome waiting now 4 days left maining kevin 👌🏾💪🏾
Old school: Kevin Dark, Dark, Angela Light, Light, Charlette Dark, Light. Man this game was fun
was? it still is imo! :)
My first playthrough will be with Riesz. She also was my main character in the old game.
Me too! I'm thinking Riesz Hawk an Charollote DARK for summons
I love Reisz too, but sadly the game is so very much a whole string of BreakTheCutie. Seriously.
Always liked Duran - Angela - Riesz. Probably will do the same on this one too.
I'm doing the exact same team as well
Ha, I did that party when I played through on Collections of Mana.
TBH, I always want to have Angela in my party. For no other reason than she's simply a FUN character just for her interactions and personality (I don't know why Reisz is so much more popular. Her character is just so flat and boring).
swap Duran with Kevin and you'll have my starting team.
@@Ambaryerno same here! i love Angie so much haha her VA did a great job reflecting her sassy and snobby nature. it is a shame Riesz's VA is so robotic...
I think it's worth mentioning some unique abilities such as Hawkeye being able unlock chests without keys and ignoring traps
LOVE Riesz, Angela and Hawkeye
Hawkeye, Kevin, and Angela always been my fav party. The first run I always go with them
Same💙
I kinda picked by necessity. Without looking at too much guides. I chose Kevin for offense, Riesz for mid to long range attack and support magic and Charlotte for healing.
Riesz, jack of all trades, master of buffs.
Hawkeye buffs are more survivable on No Escape dificulty
Great video as always, think im gonna go with Angela(for her clones),the Werewolf(cause it sounds fun) and the Healer cause you said the magic word ''Warlock''!!!!
Thanks man
Welcome!
My party is Angela, Hawkeye, and reisz. I really think I found a little nice synergy team for myself
I went ninja but the elemental jutsu don’t say they have debuffs, as far as I remember I used them for damage.
Seeing Charlotte running around whacking rabites in the face after all this time hit me right in the feels for some reason...
In the original snes version, I had to have Kevin on my team or else clearing becomes slow.
(Kevin move 3 is a perfect big aoe that does insane dm to all enemies in an area)
CS 2 can be used to target moving bosses during some mechanic phase (Like the super annoying ghost phase) since it literally pauses movement of boss while doing high damage.
CS4 damage is absolutely insane against the secret boss too (It literally hit her like 4 times per hit due to her size, leading to some juicy OHKO with CS4 in last phase)
His normal attack is insane too on top of having the highest crit rate in the game.
To me this game is so much more exciting than the FF7 Remake. This game plays it true to the Square/Enix of old!
yeah i'm still thinking this game is much better than this bullshit of ff7 remake 😀
@@nercu743 as high of hopes as I had for the FF7 remake, wanting it to be better than the original, I ended up instead extremely disappointed :(
Ff7R Wasnt that bad though.
I'll wait for the PC release of FF7R. This will hold me over until then
I know it's not optimal, but thanks for this, my team comp will just be summoner, necromancer, and great diviner just because filling the board will be hilarious.
Fun fact is the video is almost following my favs characters ordering. I'd just swap Charlotte and Duran places
Currently doing 2 side by side play throughs. Angela, Hawkeye, Charlotte
Duran, Kevin, Riesz.
Damn. Waiting for my copy. 4 more days, just in time for my birthday B)

Dragon Master is awesome! Summons a dragon that destroys your enemies.
thank you soooo much. cant wait to play this game 😆
Enjoy!
Thank you. I can always rely on this channel for this sort of content.
Reisz , Angela and Charlotte because they are all able to Summon
@@Hawntbawt I always used God Hand personally.
I would have wanted a mention of the new Tier 3 classes for each route
My first playtrough will ether be Kevin, Duran, Char or Duran, Angela, Kevin
I believe one physically strong attacker, one strong attack magic, and one strong healer.
Duran Angela and Charlotte basically
My experience in 2 runs on the snes is, make sure you have a healer, if you don't is going to be brutal for you
Completed the game and just unlocked the second story today. I can say, I couldn't imagine not having one for some of the end bosses you have to fight. Without one it's absolutely going to be tough.

Duran: Paladin
Riesz: Dragon Master
Charlotte: High Cleric
Wasn’t really hyped for this game now I wanna play it
If i pick up this game i'll most likely pick Duran(because i like sword fighters), Angela(because i like spellcasters), and Kevin(because i like werewolves and other monsters).
I think I'll go for Hawkeye, Charlotte and Riesz.
Kevin is by and far the best and most fun to play
The two characters who share a storyline plus Charlotte. For Charlotte/Kevin, I usually go with Angela but anyone else works.
first pick: any of these duran, hawkeye, kevin
second pick: angela
third: any
once angela is strong (0mp and lement beam)... can finished the enemy instant
I switched to knight, but never EVER found a shield in shops lol.
Valsena (sp?) has a few, including all the elemental resistance shields. Best equipment will always come randomly from seeds of course, especially gold/rainbow seeds (recommend saving before each planting).

Why didn't you talk about the fourth tier classes?
I chose Duran, Angela, and Charlotte for my party because they looked so similar to Randi, Primm, and Popoi from Secret of Mana.
hawk, charllote and angela is the best team not even close

Working on the times challenges on the witch boss atm with Charlotte, Hawkeye and Riesz. I managed the first challenge but I'm finding the second very tricky.
Planning on rolling through the campaign again but with the other three characters next.
Started the full game today. Have a party of Duran (Gladiator), Angela (Sorceress) and Riesz (Rune Maiden). Very addicting.
J. Eaton how is that going so far? I have the same party but was thinking about going starlancer on Riesz
