Yes the real Charlotte is back, happy, smiling and being funny. Abbey is doing well by the looks of it. Great to see the belt is working now. Hopefully it will make things easier for both of you.
Morning Miss Was the point of moving the pallet to shave time off bedding up lol 😆 Scraping out was a good job well dung That's a belta of a feed system, going to hopefully speed up the feeding process for ya Take care all Geoff
Glad to see the happy Charlotte back again I loved your new Feed. Star what a great idea Roy your getting a really top class Farm together it’s very modern full off Super ideas and that’s what life’s. All about making it as easy as you can every credit to you all I loved watching your videos because Charlotte your so funny and don’t ever change
3 times! That’s how often I was interrupted trying to watch this video , by little monsters, truthfully they are just as terrifying without the face paint and costumes! They were horrified when I insisted that they come in and share their hauls ( don’t worry I filled up the bags before they went) oh and they all got coke just to ensure they drove their parents nuts for the rest of the evening, you got it I’m the nasty and vengeful oul da, herself says that will go over your head but I said your from Appleby and must know some of the travellers ways. I digress, delighted to see the belt working completely different operating system than I envisaged, I will be watching with great attention as to how well it works because if it’s as good as it looks we have a feed trough that it could solve a lot of problems for us. Regards from Ireland ( fyi, oul da is the travelling version of granddad)
Hi Charlotte/Roy conveyor looks good lot of things to go wrong on cold wet Sunday morning but you must of done your research so best of luck to you absolutely love your videos I just miss our dairy farm I grew up on worked on for half my life ,it's a good life but a hard one all the best for the future after this labour government budget
Great to see the feed star belt running, neat how it cleans the belt off in reverse. Really hope feed doesn’t get under the belt and gum things up further down the line. Definitely help the cows with the extra feed space, super important especially with fresh calved heifers now less prone to competition at the barrier. Abbey looks like she’ll be at little tinker.👍
In the scrap yard now but the same principle. We had a shuttle stroke barn cleaner sold in North America by Acorn. And used the drive from it and cable from it to pull the belting . The belting was from a mining operation 14 inches wide @charlotteashleyfarm
Hello there. You do suprise me at the price of that prepacked meat and from the co-op as well. There's not so much cheap even if you shop around. I only shop for myself and it's £50 every time I go.
Hi Charlotte belt looks good I hope it works well for along time also you said vet was coming but didn’t say what they thought was wrong with cow And I hope you don’t mind me asking but when I worked at bride end farm ( Kirkby thore) it was owned by Chris dent I know he is dead but I thought his son might have taken over? Also when I worked part time at metcalfes ( Bolton quarry road ) it’s the one with the big silage tower that was an automated feeding system but we were always going up tower because the screw that got silage out kept breaking down so we had to fork it Thanks for replying last time and sorry if I’m boring you cheers neil
Hello Neil, Drenched the cow and next day she was up and on her feet, wondering if she’d eaten too much blend that hadn’t been mixed properly? Colin Dent is carrying on Chris’s work at Bridge End with the help of his son and a younger generation is following him to, be a few years til they are on tractor seats mind! I had to research the next farm, Mr Metcalfes’ daughter and son in law still live on the farm but aren’t actively farming more renting bits out and maintaining the farm. Not many of the silage towers are left around here, that could be the only farm with them still up, was there 5/6 farms around here with them? A few are still used in the south where they get a summer, the 6 ton an hour seems to be what the augers enjoyed working with according to an article in FW about a system in Somerset! Best wishes, C
Good to see Abbey doing so well Charlotte, was she the first Jersey born on the farm or was Dot dot a Jersey? The feed belt looks awesome, should save you some time, and no backing the Keenan into things... 😂❤
As someone who is using local meat, fruit, and veg and is aware of the vegetable available in certain season so that i can avoid non seasonal produce and is highly interested in all matters agricultural etc. one thing I'm un aware of is what the temperature reading for a well cow should be, so when you said that the cows temperature was 34 i was unable to see how far off normal that was. So what is normal Cow temperature?
Yep Co-op is expensive. There is a reason they frequent large villages and small towns other disregarded. If I travel oop north I always use them. I rarely use it locally as for a few cups of petrol more I can reach more major supermarkets. I would like to use farm shops but they are not cheap either and stock too many ‘higher middle class’ products. I’m not being unfair but pragmatic.
Lottie need go to gravel Pit miles drive belts Rollers motors frames Go faster cheaper don't Break down lady's won't Eat it pressure wash it Going round on rollers 😂
With so much cow shit I'm not sure why you don't have an anaerobic digester for some "free" power ? Initial expenses ✓ Would it deplete field fertilising too much ?

Great video Charlotte - pleased the cow is on the mend and great to see the feed belt working!
Us too!
It’s always better to “beg forgiveness” than “ask permission”. 😁 Great video, thanks. Best wishes, Colin.
Thanks Colin 😍😍
Works until the £100 deposit is recharged
What a great idea with the belt feeder, easy to clean as well, I did wonder but all clear now.
I couldn’t help but grin at your delight over the gates…. You seemed happier about those than the feed belt😂
Yes the real Charlotte is back, happy, smiling and being funny. Abbey is doing well by the looks of it. Great to see the belt is working now. Hopefully it will make things easier for both of you.

Great video Charlotte
That feeder is so cool
We have used a feed belt system for 20 years on our farm for feeding sheep in one barn. It is home made but worked great
I would love to see that
In the scrap yard now but the same principle. We had a shuttle stroke barn cleaner sold in North America by Acorn. And used the drive from it and cable from it to pull the belting . The belting was from a mining operation 14 inches wide

Wot an Aviation update and you don´t care! I do , Now that is two of us in a bad mood, Tut!🛩
Sorry sorry I’ll do better 😍😍
Hello Charlotte, what output do you have per cow now? How much concentrated feed do you use? Best regards
Hi Charlotte belt looks good I hope it works well for along time also you said vet was coming but didn’t say what they thought was wrong with cow

Is the new feeding system a cows version of an Uber delivery...?
@@PK_Blinder no sushi bar
Hi charlotte, whats the advantage to the belt except that u dont hav to drive along
4th happy Halloween 🎃 🎉
❤ 😊
Thanks Rita x

Now that is a worry isn’t it
You could upcycle the used lely teat brushes into calf scratching brushes .....
Ha ha hair brushes, the uses could be endless
I tell you what they would love them as licking toys for enrichment
First happy Halloween
Happy All Hallows Eve by the way!

Merlo for the win x x
The belt is different than I thought it would be.

Do you know what the life expectancy is for a belt is?
Oldest ones are 30 years and still running across germany
@@timgibson8612 That is surprising!
@@timgibson8612 take that with a pinch of salt
Bit of triggers brush id say
I can't understand why the installers didn't want the concrete track polishing smooth, it must help preserve the belt if it's smoother...🤔
