Jain community choti hai lekin business class hone ke karan purchasing power tagdi hai inki. Isiliye har restaurant har item jain version me bana kar deta hai kyuke jain log uske 30-50rs jyada dene ke liye tayyar bhi hai.
Aur restaurant ko pata hai jain mota customer hai. Mahine ek baar jain dish khaagyega baaki pure time kanda lasun ke saath hi khayega. Toh inko special pampering ki jaati hai.

Most of the debate on Vegetarian Vs Non-vegetarian revolves around how people react after the meat has been served on their plates while trying to avoid the question that what happened to all those animals on mass level. Even those who call themselves lacto-vegetarian turn a blind eye toward the animal suffering- forced & continuous impregnations, lifelong confinement, male calf butchering, and at the end turning into beef. It's all about blissful ignorance towards suffering of the weak. Quite similar is the case with caste, gender and minority atrocities- the sense of otherization.
I would like to see how many 'meat lovers' would butcher an animal on regular basis and still talk about love and compassion.
so true, animal suffering isn't mentioned at all in these conversations. I get amazed by how people who speaks against injustice and oppression just turn a blind eye when it comes to the poor animal's suffering.
Industrialists/Billionaires sabse jada nuksan pahuchate hai Nature ko, aur same log vegetarianism ka dhong bhi krte hai.
And i wonder if these same Jain/brahmin etc vegan extremists practice the same veg/non-veg segregation with WHITES while living abroad or is it all just for india bcs u hold more Capital than other communities so it's easier to discriminate.

When russians wanted to convert to a major religion the king had 3 choices catholic, orthodox and islam. Catholic was rejected because it was very poor at the time. King eventually chose orthodox because islam had stipulation on alcohol
In karnatak Coorg is known for pork food. When i went to coorg for a trip after graduation with friends, i made it a point that i had pork. And i enjoyed it for the first time. Looking forward to eat it again.
And bhai you guys forgot about the " Simple sudha murthy aunty" who carries separate spoons in flight as a sign of purity. That's why Chetan Ahimsa said that Sudha Murthy has a universe of wealth but a spoonful of insight😂😂

And don't overthink it, purity culture exists all over the world in different forms. It's still bad, but it exists.

A very insightful episode for those who are curious about the non - vegetarian vs vegetarian debate.
I have an anecdote for almost every topic discussed, but I'll share a couple of them.
For instance when my child started going to school, right from kindergarten he was introduced to the concept of normal food and Jain food by the school. There is different food and a different table for the Jain kids. Imagine this being taught to an innocent child who has no concept of religion(because it's not imparted by me), let alone the cast.
I have a vegetarian marwadi friend who stays in Bangladesh. Her husband is a very loyal non vegetarian (who knows his pork well). All her house help is Muslim, which is obvious since it's a Muslim country, but she makes sure that her cook is a Hindu. So yes, in today's day and age also you'll find people who are very much concerned about the unimportant details like these.

It not unimportant. You just have no idea how disgusting is non vegetarian food for the ones who are vegetarian. We aren't cut for that. Dog eat their own poop, we can't, we can't even look at them doing that. Similarly there is tolerance towards disgust some people have others don't.
If she don't want a non vegetarian eating muslim to make her food how did she marry a all kind of non veg eating local Muslim?
Mayonnaise is not made with egg but with egg yolk only which is the fat of the egg. So vegetarians replaced that fat with plant fat like oils and likely used emulsifiers

It is just that vegetarians are natural to look at non veg food as disgusting or repelling and they have the right to do that.
Veg is not specific to pure and sanskritisation, Hinduism dont enforce ideology sanskritisation feels similar to western concept of Christianisation or islamisation.

How are christians establishing an identity with lent? Their identity is already established as christians no? Or do you mean to say the various sects are doing it in competition to each other?
Same question for Muslims.
Its only in Hindus that I see this food based self superiority discrimination.
Other food based segregation is done by people who have adopted new values: conservative, liberal, animal rights, vegans etc.

Also Do not forget to mention jokes in childhood.. "NON VEG jokes" are the lewd & sexist one and veg jokes something that doesn't have sex as a centre of the issue. Sex is also Non veg.
I think that can be interpreted in many ways though.
We as a culture were always shy about saying words like Sex, so we found ways to bypass it in movies and I am sure saying Non Veg for jokes is just that.
2ndly it could also be interpreted as Non Veg jokes being the more Mazzedar of the jokes also. Depends how you look at it. I don't think there was anything called veg jokes though, those were just Joke.

I can't live without nonveg and laugh on hypocrisy of vegetarian. In my area , puro veg means without garlic and onion but I have watched so many veg recipes with garlic and onion 😂
