Quorthon might have lost his way for a few years in the mid-1990s, but in the last several years of his life he found himself again. Granted, even when he was musically burnt out, he still made some of the greatest metal ballads in the entire genre, style be damned.
Viking era is the best by far, not only because Viking is better, but I believe he was already a more rounded musician and more capable of exploring other stuff in his viking era.
@@shangri-la-la-la Yeah, if it was Metallica fandom stuff like 90% of the metal channels on YT, it would've had much more views. Nothing against Metallica, I love the band and I'm one of the few who like the Load album but I just believe there are too many channels focused on them because they know they will easily get big number of views.
Great vid mate...I was fortunate to by each Bathory release as it was released ...still listen to them religiously. Utsotbm has been played 2 to 3 times a week since it was released...can't say that for any other band ..and ive been into metal since very early 80s.good job..great playing...luv all bathory.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That's dividing by zero! HA! I like to think Blood Fire Death is certainly black metal by sound, but Norse-ish by lyrical content. I think it is the perfect bad ass middle ground that created a masterpiece. I LOVE that record. Not one bad song.
I feel like their album “Blood Fire Death” was the beginning of their transition to Viking metal, because if that it’s a perfect blend of both styles and neither completely one nor the other which is why it’s my favourite of all their albums (also more elements of thrasher metal)
The black metal stuff probably influenced more bands but I prefer to listen to the Viking era myself. The Nordland albums don't get enough love in my opinion.
I'm a fan of Bathory, I like the two eras. But I still prefer the Viking Metal Era. Bathory, for me, isn't a simple band, but a kind of divinity! \\m//
Quorthon doesn't get the love he deserves in a lot of videos these days. People presenting "nordic black metal" usually forget about him and it's a sad thing to see because he was, clearly, the father of a lot of the black metal that came after, together with Hellhammer/Celtic Frost. Bathory forever.

Yes thats what l really love about that album.
Indeed
It was the transition
Also "A fine day to die"
And that's why is the best album by almighty bathory
As a guitar player, i prefer his Viking Era stuff. As a band, i like it all.
As a guitarist I like the early stuff. As a musician, I like the viking era 👍
As a satanist I prefer the early stuff.

Both eras are great and Quorthons guitar skills are still underappreciated even in the black era

Plus he had two more albums planned. I am still so sad that he is gone
Blood of ice is good album!

Increíble. Que dominio!! Perfecta ejecución amigo del Metal Negro.
Saludos.
The Ibanez VBT700 is a Beautiful ❤
Love the Viking era more imo! Great video man!

Your vids are criminally under viewed
This is Bathory related so of course it is criminally under viewed.

Blood Fire Death will still be considered Black Metal
Yes and it still is as it ever was.

I love the Ibanez V too.

The viking era actually sounds little more blacky to me,just not played so fast like 2nd wave ov black MTL
Bathory was very Punk sounding.
No wonder Quorthon was a GBH fan.

Dude, this is all wrong. It needs to be played on a cigar box diddly-bo, through a modded clock radio.
I think you’re a generation of black metal ahead, not that Bathory had great production, but it’s a little better than Mayhem of Burzum
Sorry, but you play the Reaper a little wrong
Thanks for the suggest, will you upload a video tutorial on how to play it correctly then?
