Have a team mate who struggles in game three due to lanes drying out. He is a high rev player would this be a good piece for him?
Yes it would! I have had a chance now to throw this along with my Venom Shock. The Hyper Venom has more length but sure does snap on the backend!
Just a suggestion, maybe have him move-I can play Shock all day by just with moving. Getting new bowling ball is always fun but it does not fix most issues. Timing and moving is all you need for your average league player. Technology is over hyped and marketing in bowling industry is Strong.

I'm a low speed bowler. I can only speed up to 11 mp or less 😒 do you think this ball would work for me? I took a risk and ordered already 😁

I bowled with you in Greenville, I’m a two finger one handed bowler, would you recommend this ball? Also you should come bowl a few games at striketown, it’s a challenge up here lol love the vid man!
Hey there! For sure I’d definitely recommend this ball for you. Being a 2 finger no thumber this will use plenty of bite for you on the backend. Definitely be sure to get your updated PAP and specs before you drill it and work with your pro shop guy for the best drilling layout! Striketown? I’ll have to check it out! I’m out near Grand Rapids area!
Nice Video, if you only can choose one out of the Venom series, which one would you get?
Well, this Hyper Venom is really impressive. Overall if I was building my bag, the Venom Shock is a must have for the venom ball in the bag. I’d then build off that one, the Hyper Venom being the transition ball, and maybe a Black Venom or Coral for a bit more read in the mid lane and more backend.
How would this pair with a black venom? i have a mid rev rate with a higher ball speed the black venom does well for me. how would this be as a ball for the more dry lanes?
Black venom would be more overall as it’s a solid and it’s asymmetrical. I would say this would work great on transition and dry conditions if the right layout and surface are used. I’d say this is definitely a step up from the Supra Rally and fits right under than Ripcord Launch! I was surprised how well the Hyper Venom read the midlane. Definitely a keeper!

Thrown exclusively SPI for 2 decades, considering making this my first Motiv ball. How would you equate or compare this to Storm's lineup, and in your opinion what are the built in differences of the company I could expect to see?
Since switching to 2 handed, Storm equipment has just been too strong downlane for me to reliably control, and I'm considering other brands to try and find less overall reaction at the end of the pattern, to allow some straighter angles for league play.
Currently, as a right hander, I can not seem to find a way to play the lanes anywhere right of 35 with my right foot.
Hey there! We would say the Hyper Venom would be a comparable ball to a Storm Hyroad Pearl. The Venom Shock series again, relatable to Hyroad series etc. Each company has their own unique perks and everyone has their favorites!
I’d say, if you are new to 2 handed and having too much motion, try experimenting with the short pin 2LS layout. I’d go 2 x 6 x 5 2LS. You’d be surprised what this can do and how much stuff still hooks. Have to consider modern day technology and cover/core performance. Also, modifying the cover and changing surfaces can do wonders as well. We have an Evoke video where Theo throws a 2 x 6 x 5 on that, which is a big ball, and it allows him to close up his angles. A much “weaker” layout. Check out that video to see how much you like that. Hope this helps! Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions!
The Hy-Road pearl is probably weaker than 90% of the reactive balls on the market right now, are you sure the Hyper Venom is in that territory? I know the diff is not that high and it's a symmetrical ball but I would assume the coverstock technology is much more aggressive than it was on the Hy-Road... which came out 11 years ago. I'm wondering where this ball is going to be in terms of strength, say relative to a blue coral venom or the black widow 2.0 hybrid@@RealExperienceReviews
I was thinking more on the lines of what bowling balls do you think of when you think “benchmark” from their side of the line. Yes it came out 11 years ago but coverstock technology has evolved. Hyroad will be much cleaner and go farther down lane for sure. I’d say this Hyper Venom would be closer to a stronger pearl symmetrical cover ball from Storm, but again not going too giant. Comparing it to a Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid is not a good one to compare because it’s asymmetrical and will be more ball overall in nature. I’d say Xponent Pearl is closest pearl in core numbers that has that bite on the backend. The blue coral venom will be more overall, but will provide a much different shape due to coverstock and it being asym. Regardless, a great choice for anyone’s bag!
