Nice! That's why I don't mind spending a little extra for Motiv. They are made in the USA, and I know that doesn't matter to most people but I like supporting the home team when I can. In my part of Florida its mostly SPI incentivized pro-shops so Motiv stuff is overpriced.
I've been only throwing Motiv over the last 3 years. Venom Shock was my first Motiv and I've been hooked since. That Venom Shock now has around 300 games on it and still my go to in the transition games in League and Tournaments.
As somebody who throws primarily Motiv equipment, it was nice to see this review from you guys. The Venom Shock is what made me fall in love with the brand years ago, alongside the Primal Rage. The Black Venom is my favorite ball to date with how nice it rolls and hits like a truck.
I've been bowling for twenty five years and I've never thrown a Motiv ball. I've been looking for a slight step down off of my Proton and I was considering the Black Venom. I had it punched up and this thing is the real deal. Ball just blends out everything so nicely and has great continuation. I've used it on both house and sport no problem. Very impressed with this piece.

For anyone thinking about trying Motiv, I highly recommend starting with either a Venom Shock or a Jackal Ghost. Those are my 2 favorites. I bought a Fatal Venom 2 months ago. When my Physix and Phaze II aren’t quite right, I can always count on the Venom to give me that reliable shape. And it also makes a really cool spare ball too.

I don't bowl anymore but when I did Motiv became the brand I used primarily. I've had favorites from the Cruel Intent to the Villian Scorn, Venom Shock, Trident, Covert Revolt, United Revolt, Tank Blitz, Supra, Jackal Rising and Ghost. When you can find the right layout for your release as with any ball you will become successful and accomplish all you've set out to do. Great brand and equipment.
I've only drilled 1 Motiv ball, the Jackal Flash. My first 3 games with it were a 702. I have no idea why, but I haven't drilled a motiv ball since. If I was going to, it would be a Venom Shock because I don't have a sym solid, but I'm also thinking about one of the Trident's.
Glad to see you guys doing some Motiv reviews. Hopefully you keep them coming. My favorite ball of all time is the Venom Shock, it’s my benchmark ball for sure. For almost anyone thinking of trying Motiv I would recommend this as their first ball. It’s versatile enough where I can work for a wide range of players and conditions. Great league ball. I recently bought the Black Venom and Primal Shock. Both seem like great balls too, but haven’t thrown them much yet. I would actually like to see you guys do a three ball comparison of the Primal, Venom Shock, and Black Venom just to try and confirm my initial thoughts.
The Jackal Ghost, the Venom Shock and the Forge Flare for the heavier longer patterns. Actually I love all my MOTIV pieces. It's all I throw. Get MOTIVated!!! I'm glad you like them.
I've thrown the Jackal Legacy and Mythic Jackal. The Mythic is definitely my favorite of the two, I'll probably drill more up in the future. I like my big7 and motiv
I got a venom shock over a year ago used from a pro shop for £50 after seeing how ej throws it and its in my top 2 favourite ball (other is purple hammer)
I never gave Motiv products a thought until my dad won a Primal Rage in a ball raffle way back. My 1st perfect game came from that ball & I never looked back. Thank you Motiv
i have been wanting a motiv ball, im thinking the venom shock. like jungo said its a low rg low diff ball which is something i need and it actually can fill up the bottom of my bag.
I'd have to say its the venom shock for best ball ever by them, followed by for me the jackal ghost, forge fire. The new Primal Shock is a must to throw in short term its quickly earning a yes to on list of best ever as well and do a review!!! Its a great continuation of the venom shock coverstock formula. The other two ej has been using is the primal shock and the blue coral venom after all! Awesome to see you finally show off the brand!

So glad to finally see a Motiv review. The venom shock is an amazing ball. The Supra Enzo is a total house shot killer, and the Ripcord launch is my favorite pearl ball, behind the dark Code. I'm very sold on Motiv equipment and would buy em all if i could.

I'm having a dilemma if I should get a ball from the Venom line/Primal Shock/Jackal line. I say out of the three, the jackal is the strongest, the BV is in the middle, and the Primal is the weakest. You got the Ambush, so u don't need the Jackal, so I would go with the Black
Having four motiv line balls I’m definitely a fan of their products. It’s a close tie between my fatal venom and my Supra rally but the, fatal venom is a little more versatile for me.
The Primal Shock is currently my primary ball. My average is in the mid-170s (two-handed bowler) but with the Primal Shock I've been scoring in the 220s a lot the last few weeks. I keep thinking to buy another and put it away for some future date when I want a fresh ball.
These balls are so good! Black Venom I throw a lot and drilled 2 Venom shocks as well. It seems I can throw these balls on any pattern. You hit them with surface and they pick up even better on tough patterns with more oil and blend them really well. JIMOO you saw the Black Venom first hand with me at the Edmonton Open LOL. We had a good time! PRIMAL is really good as well to do a review on, as well as the Blue Coral Venom. Great vid!
I have a black venom. I used to use a Brunswick rhino blue teal green. This ball here is truly a game changer for me rolled my next high games with it after my high game with the rhino being a 214. My new high score with the black venom is 278. Looking to try an Evoke for my senior season!
Been waiting on this one. Currently throwing the Shock. Every year I'm worried it will be pulled from motivs lineup. Can't wait to get the new black and throw them both with my Primal shock
I know that feeling. Mine is getting old and has a lot of games on it, but its still rolling like a champ. I might buy a new one just in case. I would think its one of, if not their best selling ball even today. So I don't see them stopping production, but you never know. The world is crazy today LOL.
@@cbrdealer That's exactly how I feel. I keep toying with the idea of buying at least one more to hang on to just in case. Over the past couple years if I've learned anything it's that it doesn't have to make sense for a company to do something crazy.
I started throwing Motiv in early 2020 when they closed the hopkinsville KY plant.. (threw primarily ebonite stuff for 20+ years) honestly I dug the original microcell covert tank but the last year they've been releasing consistent fire
I have thrown nothing but Brunswick brands since I started bowling 5 yrs ago. I recently bought the Venom Shock and Primal Shock. These balls are different. Better. Much better than any of the countless other balls I've had.
I used to have the forge fire and it was my favorite ball until it got stolen. But it did get me to love motiv balls like crazy! But the venom shock and the blue tank are great balls.
Great review!!! Kids both have Primal Shock and Blue Coral and oldest has the Venom Shock as well.. Lookin for some Sniper spare balls to add to their bags.

Truthfully I have tried a number of Motiv in the past, but they just didn't keep what my eyes wanted to see, they either started up too early or too late; that is until I tried the OG Venom Shock, not only did I like it... I loved it, and still do. And I am a Storm guy.
Really liked the Forza GT and Tank Blitz, but the Venom Shock is the clear winner. It's just a great ball. Works for any bowler on any lanes and/or pattern as long as it has the right surface prep.
I've been a 900 Global guy for a long time, and I don't have a Motiv ball yet. If I get one first, I would go with the Vemom Shock first because it was out first.

Great review - I like seeing Motiv get some love from the YT bowling reviewers. Long time roto/storm/brunswick bowler here(20+ years bowling off and on). I went from 16 to 15 back in November and someone recommended Motiv so I got the Venom Shock. Great benchmark ball - I now bowl with only Motiv stuff. My full arsenal is the Ambush, Ghost, SkyRaptor, Primal Shock(I just punched it out), Venom Shock, Ripcord Velocity, and Blue Tank. I was going to get the Black Venom but might get the Supra instead because I need something for shorter patterns.
Just started bowling again after taking about 10 years off and I got the motiv blue coral and the primal shock, love them both. But that primal is something special
My favorite is between the Blue Tank and the Carbide Tank. It just depends on the pattern. These balls have a very high carry percentage when they hit the pocket. Get one of each of these, and you'll be even more in love with Motiv bowling balls. They are very predictable, and they respond to speed, hand, and oil just like they should.
I have the Venom Shock and I really like it, but my favorite Motiv ball is the Venom Recoil. The Recoil, like the Black Venom has an asym core and is a great compliment to the Shock.
I gotta say my favorite was the covert tank and now my favorite is the desert tank. These balls were when they introduced MCP and gave us another option between urethane and reactive
Im a 2 handed bowler and I have the motiv primal shock in 15LBS which is the baby of the primal rage and venom shock. BALL IS CRAZY. i got it drilled as a benchmark with 2LS layout. its for heavy oil and is a hook monster!

Please make sure they don’t discontinue the Motiv Carbide Tank. That ball is a beast.

Since you work for motiv. Get them to put the cover from the evoke on the primal core . Love the primal shock but it lane shines absurdly fast.

The Black Venom is a perfect example of when a coverstock and a core line up perfectly.
I've been more of a Storm guy, but bought a Blue Coral Venom last year. It is probably the ball I goto most. Very versatile. I love it.
I'm tempted to have my first Motiv ball be a Primal Shock. That ball looks insane.
You won't be disappointed by its versatility.

I was into motive before motive was known. My favorite (and I still have it) is the cruel C51 LE. The first 50/50 hybrid on the market !!

Sigma Sting and Graffiti Tag were my favorite Motiv Balls.
The Venom Shock is awesome. I'm a big fan of the Carbide Tank, that's probably my favorite right now.

I love my Jackal Ghost!!! I can play anywhere on the lane and always get a great response off the friction.
Currently I still throw a fatal venom and a jackel legacy from motiv years ago I absolutely loved the purple trident.

Blue tank is an awesome ball. Unfortunately it's been discontinued
Won a county tournament in 2020 with the Venom Cobra, Black Venom is heading my way in a few days. Shock is next on the list.

Carbide is amazing, Legacy was also very good and Blue Tank great when lanes get jumpy

Great review - I like seeing Motiv get some love from the YT bowling reviewers. Long time roto/storm/brunswick bowler here(20+ years bowling off and on). I went from 16 to 15 back in November and someone recommended Motiv so I got the Venom Shock. Great benchmark ball - I now bowl with only Motiv stuff. My full arsenal is the Ambush, Ghost, SkyRaptor, Primal Shock(I just punched it out), Venom Shock, Ripcord Velocity, and Blue Tank. I was going to get the Black Venom but might get the Supra instead because I need something for shorter patterns.
Only thrown two the ghost and the alpha and the ghost is one of my favorite balls of all time.
Just started bowling again after taking about 10 years off and I got the motiv blue coral and the primal shock, love them both. But that primal is something special
My favorite is between the Blue Tank and the Carbide Tank. It just depends on the pattern. These balls have a very high carry percentage when they hit the pocket. Get one of each of these, and you'll be even more in love with Motiv bowling balls. They are very predictable, and they respond to speed, hand, and oil just like they should.
Mine is the venom recoil. Always wanted to try the venom fatal or shock
I have around 12 Motiv bowling balls, I would say it’s the Jackal Ghost followed closely by the Primal Rage Remix and Chronic Paranoia
You should try the Motiv Carbide Tank, the ball is a beast! I hope they don’t discontinue making it.
I have the Venom Shock and I really like it, but my favorite Motiv ball is the Venom Recoil. The Recoil, like the Black Venom has an asym core and is a great compliment to the Shock.
I'm thinking of trying a Motiv ball and will try a Supra Rally for drier lane conditions

Im a 2 handed bowler and I have the motiv primal shock in 15LBS which is the baby of the primal rage and venom shock. BALL IS CRAZY. i got it drilled as a benchmark with 2LS layout. its for heavy oil and is a hook monster!
Thanks guys for this video! I am looking for an asymm ball for the bottom of the bag. Probably going to get "MotivAted" with this Black Venom. This would be my first.
