I am a lucky owner of both, the Seamaster in white, and the 42 Pelagos, I love them both, but in terms of build quality, history, movement, etc. Omega wins hands down. Tudor for me is entry Luxury, Omega is Luxury. Cheers.
And omega stay strong in the price. Wow Rolex right now is fluctuating and it’s dropping. You can even find them cheaper than Rolex because everybody went crazy. Leave the high in for the ones I can really afford it not the ones I would just want to jump in the game to act like the Rolex dealers but you already know everybody already fell off the train now just trying to figure out how to get most of their money back and a lot of them are losing APs, the same thing Richard Mille, the same thing, but Omega stay strong in the price
As a watchmaker working for one of the largest retailers in Europe, just a few points. The Omega is far better built than the Rolex with a much better movement, it also costs more to make than the Submariner. There is no such thing as a Rolex waiting list, its the dealer that creates the wait. If you're told that you're on a waiting list, its because they have other customers that they want to sell to before they sell to you. And last but not least, the Tudor's movement is full of Chinese parts. Only a percentage of a watch's production value must be of Swiss origin in order for it to be called a Swiss made watch.
I’ve always suspected this. Kenissi movements do seem to be very “cost effective” which enables Tudor “on the surface” to be good value. Do you know which parts are made in China specifically?
I am glad that you replied as a watch builder and maker they don’t omega is it always been but people here go for the RUclips they fall for the Facebook and all that stupidity is funny on your comment after the craziness with the watches everybody’s dumping the Rolexes I haven’t seen nobody dump and omega is the opposite. They’re buying them. How fun
This has to be a “wind up” yea 😂. Omega/Tudor… not in the same league. Omega quality and overall build is first class. I have the ‘57 (auto 9300) and the Planet Ocean Master Co Axial… and just added the 50th anniversary Silver Snoopy. All 3 of those are lifetime watches. The Tudor on the other hand will be a nice novelty but the itch for a real watch will always be there.
Mark is correct. Buy an omega keep it. Don’t be a Manchurian candidate and fool yourself into the Rolex con that they are superior, astute watchmakers know the real truth. A fool and his money are easily parted. Thank mark later🤔
Tudor seem to lack in refinement and craftsmanship compared to Omega. Tudors feel like a slab of ice. Omega feels like that slab of ice has been chiseled and sculpted
owned many Rolexes in my life never had a omega until these new models came out I have the omega, Seamaster wave dial and blue ceramic ceramic and I also have the aqua terra 41.5 with the gray and blue dail watches, great deals. I think they’re worth every penny my opinion.
Nice job. I'd rather have the Omega than the Tudor. If you are going to buy used the price is similar. I like everything about the Omega except for the steel bracelet.
The Tudor Pelagos 39 is a wait list piece atm generally but I would hope in a few months they’ll be readily available. The ‘standard’ Pelagos in 42mm plus the Blackbay range are mostly all in shop windows in UK. The Submariner is not a walk-in watch of course, but being a nice, genuine person & having patience with your AD should see you with one in circa 12months. Good things come to those who wait after all…😊
The Omega Seamaster Chronometer is indeed a remarkable timepiece, appreciated for its aesthetic appeal. However, it is true that its power reserve may not match that of certain Tudor models, particularly the ones introduced in 2024. The Tudor watches boast an extended power reserve and an impressive bezel design, making them formidable competitors in the watchmaking industry.
Interesting piece. I can’t speak to the Pelagos 39mm but I have the SMP300 and Pelagos 42mm both in blue and they are completely different watches in look and feel. The Pelagos is amazing but very much a functional tool watch and feels it on the wrist, the SMP300 is far dressier and on the Omega Milanese steel strap I just bought, extremely comfortable and can be worn for any occasion. I do agree that Omega are trying to push their brand status too much with their price increases and now they do seem to be far too expensive despite the quality. The Speedmaster now in Sapphire Sandwich form is £7k which seems crazy when it was half that 5 years ago, so I do agree that Omega are treading a dangerous path by trying to charge far too premium prices for their watches… good video, thanks
Thanks for this comment! Im glad you agree, ive uploaded a video today expaning on this very point about omega! If you could check it out id appreciate it :) ruclips.net/video/-M-_rA-2QZk/видео.html
Omega all the way. Please, don’t compare Omega with Tudor, best closest comparison is Breitling!! Omega better value from money than Rolex! Even the MSRP for a Rolex is inflated!! The only thing Rolex has an “advantage” over Omega is their Stainless Steele, and not!! Ball watches have 904L Stainless Steele and are sell under $4000 (by the way outstanding watches). It is not expensive to produce an they use using it as a marketing tool for their sale!! In addition they certify their own watches, SUPERLATIVE in not the same as METAS CERTIFICATION. SUPERLATIVE Certification is like a dog licking its own testicle, is like giving yourself a like from something you had post in Facebook . Rolex is status and a not well informed buy, Omega is achievement and bang for your money!! By the way, Great video!!
Give it another 6 months you will get the pelagos 39 without the wait list . It's a little unfair to compare an old design seamaster versus a brand new much awaited model
I really don't like the Pelagos, esthetically (or the Blackbays for that matter). I love the SMP, wear it every day. I would like the Submariner of they ditched the chunky maxicase and went back to previous case designs (while keeping the other modern improvements).
All watch brands are going up in price. But OMEGA man its the best in my opinion, i have the omega seamaster300 m pro sedna gold this november ill buy OMEGA planet ocean 39mm sedna gold brown ceramic Zodioxide.
I wouldn’t have your head turned by Tudor. It’s significantly lesser of a watch when compared to the Omega. If you’ve got Tudor money, buy a secondhand Omega seamaster like you say. Don’t let the Rolex/Tudor marketting sway you into buying an inferior watch. I own the seamaster chrono. Current line. Cost me £5751 new in 2021. Now retailing for £7,900. Omega still is in my opinion under selling their watches.
I have a Pelagos 39 I love it. I would really like a submariner but I refuse to pay over the odds on the grey market for one plus I refuse to beg a AD for one. The omega is a lovely looking watch with impressive specs however I just can't get over that helium escape valve.
Mate Omega is a much better watch then any of these. Omega Seamaster is the best value for money and it has a ceramic dial and bezel with 300M Water Resistant. Pelagus is no where near, even the Tudor GMT is better then the Pelagus.
Omega is much better than the Tudor but as I said is also a lot more expensive. If you stay until the end of the video you will see I recommend the omega on the second hand market or buying one now if your going to buy new. Before they go up even more.
Tudors do get easier to get the longer into a watches production. Got the Harrods edition after 9 months. Everything else became easier to get within the year. Depends on the AD really.
Great information and commentary. I agree with you in purchasing the Omega now if you want brand new. It's an amazing watch, but watching continue to go up in price is frustrating and stutters its place in the market. It seems like less of a value Thank you for sharing
I just acquired the green dial SMP which is my first Omega. Being a Rolex/Tudor collector I've been fortunate to hold many. I have to say Omega finishing is far superior to Rolex. Whilst it may never hold the same desire as a Rolex the value for money is in the Omega. Tudor are also to be taken seriously imho if you want a tool watch feel
This video is stupid, why are you comparing the Pelagos 39 to a Seamaster when the original Pelagos is the comparable watch its roughly the same size it has a date and is available in stores for the retail price of $4500 usd, the 39mm variant just came out so it is currently in short supply, that is the only reason it costs more on the second hand market.
The problem with buying Omega is that you'll end up spending every minute of your waking life in watch forums, trying to convince everybody (including yourself) that Omegas are superior to Rolex. You don't want that to happen to you now, do you.
and if you buy a rolex you will need to walk around and pretend you're imaginary rich bec most modern rolex owners imagine rolex is for the rich hahaha.

Also Omega is an anti magnetic up to 1.5 Tesla, which Rolex and Tudor isn't.
Tudor is using a silicone hairspring which is by nature anti-magnetic. Also, the titanium cage offers very high anti-magnetic properties.
a watch with no date sucks period Omega all day
