      Hey Jazza, I'm noticing a lot of unstable lines still (Especially when you zoom in on your digital work). I have to say that that is one of my biggest turn offs when it comes to drawing digitally. I pretty much always draw traditionally now. Is there a program (for mac.. so can't use SAI) that gets rid of that shaky line structure?

      Should also probably check out the xp artist 12 if your interested in a cheap drawing monitor, it's the size of a standard sheet of copier paper but it has a screen that you can draw on. "No more juggling between drawing and looking at the computer screen. :) "

    This video makes me proud of my mom. Here's the story:
    So for Christmas I got an animation tablet. I was happy, and we finally got around to setting it up and using it. Turns out it didn't work and I was disappointed because we had trouble setting it up. She went out of her way to buy me a new one and I got this tablet. I didn't know it at first that Wacom was great, and when I found out that Wacom was great, I was proud of her. And when I found this video, I was even prouder that she picked a tablet, Jazza approved. I really like it and I have gotten pretty used to it. I also didn't know you were supposed to only look at the screen, lol.

      A mark of a true artist is to not need an Undo.

    • @sleep_me_now
      @sleep_me_now 7 лет назад +122

      That is bullshit, that is like saying the mark of a true mathematician is to not need a calculator. Undo is a shortcut, not a crutch.

    • @jebbush8491
      @jebbush8491 7 лет назад +6

      +MayaWolvesWM No, don't give me that post-modernist bullshit. Art is subjective, sure but to be art it must be a meme - I don't mean this in the internet sense but the historical sense. You cannot 'imagine' things and it be art it has to be physical, observable to people and can be shared. You cannot make a painting using ultraviolet paint and call it art. You can, if you allow a way to see it like some special monitor.
      Good luck trying to do watercolor or any substractive medium. What I meant was skill level not literally a 'true artist.' It takes confidence and know how to be able to create something that has no undo. Mastering that skill puts that artist well above that of a Undo spammer. I draw in pen, use markers and when in digital paint additively like you would do in acrylic. Try it out sometime.

    I bought this cute little guy cause I’ve done strictly traditional art my whole life. The idea of starting doing digital art with some semblance of the style I’ve master makes this whole transition all the more manageable. I can't wait to get it in the mail! 💙💙🥰

    • @AminaOwO
      @AminaOwO 3 года назад

      Congrats!! Could you please give an update after getting it? ^^ I wanna get the intuos pro but I don't know if getting the paper edition is worth it or if I should get the regular one (this is gonna be my first drawing tablet, I only do traditional art and sometimes draw on my phone)

    • @Luenysgo
      @Luenysgo 3 года назад

      Amina heyy! Of course!
      So I absolutely love it and I wouldn’t change it until I get to a more professional level for something like a Cintiq. The digital pen is amazing with all of the pressure sensitivities and the wacom pair perfectly with my (hp/windows) laptop and even with GIMP.
      The paper feature is okay and actually pretty fun and useful at times, but for medium tablet the space for the paper is smaller than I’d like. Also, it is true, the nib wears down easily. After only six hours of use I found myself having to replace it because it was too sharp. I fixed it by putting a clear plastic (the kind grandparents have in their couches) over it in leu of the actual smooth screen they sell and so far I haven’t needed to change the nib.
      All that being said, I think that you don’t really need it to transition. What I’ve learned is that despite their differences, digital and traditional art are pretty similar. So maybe you’ll be better off getting either a cheaper tablet or a more expensive display tablet. I actually think the wacom one is the same price and it is a display tablet. Maybe look into that one too. There are plenty of options. Get whichever you think will help you best for the ART you want to create. You’ll transition either way! Hope this helped! 💙

      I felt the same way when I first got my Cintiq and I preferred paper. But you just have to experiment with different brushes and practice a lot to get used to it. Now I prefer sketching digitally over paper! But if you still want to use paper, you don't need a fancy tablet like the one on this video to get that paper feel. Just draw on regular paper, then use a scanner to import it into Photoshop.

    The major advantage I can see for this over a cintiq is portability. I have never been a fan of the cintiq because I prefer to lounge back on a couch to draw. This would let me do that. Seriously considering getting one.

    Jazza, Thank you so much. I recently got a Wacom Intuos Pro, I got it a best buy for about $230-ish. I never knew that the pen holder doubled as a tip holder. I never knew the little prongs were tips. I have the bad habbit of pressing down hard on my pens, which causes the tip to wear down. You saved my pen, and quality of my art. Thank you very much Jazza. ❤❤❤

    What I don't understand is how they sponsored you for this. But they marketed the Cintiq Pro 13" and 16" almost zero percent. People don't even know they exist or the release dates, and it got announced BEFORE the Intuos Pro. I'm frustrated with Wacom right now.

      I'm super frustrated by the lack of information and promotion for the new Cintiq Pros also. Wacom has great products and technology, but they're really dropping the ball with the Cintiq Pros. I was planning on buying one, but I'm now leaning toward the next iPad pro instead, since it's rumored to be releasing in March.

      why did it die ?!

    • @deaathblade666
      @deaathblade666 5 лет назад +1

      @@Rocinate Years of abuse and daily useage. The charging port was pretty bust up, and it's been repaired in the past. This time it was a mix of the port being bust, at the software itself just noping on me. Every time I plugged it in I got a message saying the device had malfunctioned, and failed to be recognised. Usually that happens when the port nopes on me, so I tried every fix I've done in the past, resetting, reinstalling, updating and so on. But yeah, just didn't want to work or charge at all. So in the end I decided it'd be easier to just buy a new tablet, rather than pay to get my old one fixed, just for it to break again in the future. That and an upgrade to a smaller, lighter tablet is a nice bonus.

    I really wish i could like pad-style drawing tablets, but I have used a Bamboo Create for years and I can confidently say that I hate them. As good as some might be, I just can't handle the disjointed feeling of drawing on the table, while looking up at the screen. This tablet does intrigue me though.
    I'm about to buy my first cintiq, and I'm very excited about it! The Cintiq Pro 13" looks fantastic, and I'm very excited to test out the Pro pen 2.

    I have the large version, only just got it recently. I was disappointed in how soddy the digital version looked, so hard and thin and nothing like the organic original... I even bought extra nibs and the other pen + extra nibs, thinking I'll use it a lot, but I probably wont use it much at all =/
    I might use it when sketching, just cause I can, but I'll probably re-do the entire lines (though I like to color in such a way that the lines are removed anyway, guess I can still use it for that style) Is there any way to change the output settings to a softer brush instead of the hard pencil?

    This is a stupid question, but if you wanted to draw in portrait instead of landscape, you would essentially turn the tablet and draw, right?

    • @MaZEEZaM
      @MaZEEZaM 7 лет назад

      I wouldn't think so as I don't think it recognises orientation like an IPAD, you could however draw as you like then once the image is imported to the computer you can simple change the orientation using Paint or PS.

    great review and I want a blooper real of you saying "way-com" instead of "wah-com" and getting angry at yourself!!
    anyways pretty impressed with the product until you zoomed in at 14:16.
    it's a great feature to have to transfer and sketch art, but the lines look very bumpy and shaky.
    It would bother me enough to then still having to go and "ink" the art digitally with a smoother brush to create smoother lines, maybe defeating the purpose a tiny bit??

      Nessi-Music the active area is very rough but you can (this was clearly a marketing ploy by Wacom) replace the actual active area with a $30/40 (depending on if you have medium or large) "texture sheet" which can make it smoother or rougher

      Don’t try and get a new tablet just yet I have the same one you do and I’m trying to tape a piece of paper with a drawing on to the tablet.Then to make it digital just draw over your inking while the paper is on the drawing pad. I don’t know how well this is going to work out but you are welcome to do it as well.
      I hope this works for your and my sake cause that thing is really expensive.

    • @seabb
      @seabb 6 лет назад +9

      This is late, but I also have an intuos draw and I’m planning to get this intuos pro medium regular edition, not with the paper feature.
      My intuos draw has started to show a few signs of wear after heavy use for almost a year, and the cord where it connects to the tablet is starting to rip. For the holiday season, I decided to upgrade, and I think the intuos pros are really good for what you get. Personally, I would suggest an intuos pro small or medium regular, as the whole paper thing costs an extra $50 and it’s just not worth it in my opinion. And the tablets with the built-in screens are super expensive, like in the thousands of dollars.
      The Wacom Intuos pro small, while it is an older version, is $199 compared to $299 for the medium version. I think the added tilt sensitivity and buttons are worth the extra cost to go from an intuos draw to an intuos pro. I went back to this video to see whether the paper edition would be worth it, and I honestly don’t really think so. Unless you are a traditional artist who really dislikes using a scanner to scan in traditional drawings, or just have a bunch of money to splurge on extra features, the paper edition kinda just seems like a gimmick. I don’t draw traditionally very often, so that’s just my opinion though.
      I decided to order an intuos medium, regular. I haven’t gotten my first look at it yet, so I will update with my experience with it when I do. Good luck if you’re deciding which tablet to get! 👍
