Hey All - Isn't it about time we give Jay and Nick credit for kicking the Leafs in the jock strap. I honestly believe that they woke up the Maple Leafs as well as Leafs nation after that disaster of a game 4 performance. After Rosie did his thing, all the other TV, Radio and online guys did their thing but Jay and Nick were first. Well done guys. You are tuff but you're honest. Hopefully T.O. can keep it up and do their job with the talent they have. Even without Mathews they've realized they can get it done if they put their hearts and souls into it. The fans deserve it.
Good thing we've got Jay and Nick around. Someone has to give this team real talk.
Felix was always my favourite, I used to always pretend I was him while playing in net as a kid, still remember that save in the playoffs he dived across with his glove

Favorite Potvin moment was when he cleaned the Philadelphia Spectrum ice with Ron Hextall's face.
When I used to be in grade school. I made a collage/ scrape book out of the various Toronto sports teams, cutting out sports images& articles. Among them Potvin and other leafs during that era. Still have it today.
Felix "The Cat" Potvin started the trend of outstanding playoff goalies for the Leafs...went on with Grant Fuhr, Curtis Joseph and Ed Belfour before it dropped. Not coincidentally, so did their entries into the playoffs.
Potvin was fantastic!!! My favorite Leaf Goalie of all time

When I was a kid, I got a custom pair of pads made at Toronto Hockey Repair and I asked them to make the design like Felix with the eyes on the pads. Still have em in the garage. Was great hearing from Felix the cat!

You guys are fucking G's! you guys got Felix "The Cat" Potvin on your podcast?! This guy was my childhood fucking idol...I used to have a poster of this guy on my bedroom wall that I got from my school's book faire. I don't think I've ever seen an interview of him in his natural element like this before with his old school arm tat out, just talkin non-shallantly about the Leafs. One of my FAVORITE guests you guys have had to date. THANKS!!!
Some guy with less than 10K subs selling goalie masks (primarily) and equipment was able to get Felix to come to his house or place of business to do a podcast episode. I love Felix but we're not talking about Pope Francis , here.

Leafs should have him as part of their coaching, training, or scouting staff.
He was a great, and dedicated Leaf, and should be rewarded accordingly.
I Jay, I loved Felix growing up. He was a great member of a team that gave Leaf fans something to cheer for but do you know the reasoning why he retired for good?
Story is, he had a PT contract with the Thrashers but the new equipment mandate kicked in and he didn't have any qualified equipment and just said, screw it.. lol. I don't know how dedicated he is if that's the attitude he had about the love of the game.

Great to see Felix again!! - FWIW: I had to look up the definition of 'Dishes on' I think it means to not speak well of.
Loved the cat when I was younger but how does Jay not talk about the Hextall fight with the cat? I know it's ancient history but having the tough guy and the Felix chop that up woulda been great to hear!
I suspect because it's been done to death already. You know it would be fitting for Jay to bring it up but it is so talked about throughout the years.

Was that intentional or just not thinking when you asked him if Woll reminds him of Roy instead of him? Nice way to make him feel 2nd class in his city. Didn't you catch that he thinks Samonov should be in net right now and he isn't in there today because Keefe let him get cold sitting on the bench the last few games of the season?
This guy was my favorite, have autographed everything of his, pucks, hats, the sports illustrated issue BUT.. Sadly the saying is true about don't meet your heroes, with him at that time anyways.. He was doing autographs at my local sports shop (in Michigan) and was talking s*it and making fun of most of the people there with the guys he came with (he was speaking french so nobody knew what he was saying) but he did not know the shop owned spoke french and went the fook off on him and kicked him out of the store for being such a douchebage. He was not nice to anyone or showed any appreciation to anyone he was signing for and about the only talking he did was his french s*it talking about everyone .. I still love my stuff signed by him but seeing the kind of person he was, really let me down and hurt my soul and made me actually regret the felix the cat tattoo I got because of him..
I wasn't a big fan of his glove hand. When he played in St.John's he got beat over the glove more than a few times.
