Looks like a great product. One thing I am sure people would have to avoid and that is to use any pressure washer, or even a fairly powerful hose pipe on the headlight as water is very likely to get through the foam gasket. I know that would bug me if I kept forgetting and had to get the tools out to clean out the inside of the lens.
Just ordered one, along with a spare clear lens, for my just purchased 2023 1250GS. A very elegant solution, and so easy to install. Brilliant. Thanks for such a great product.

I love the mirror but really need to be sure it doesn't reduce the light output at all, I live in the sticks so need all the light I can get,
I've always preferred the look of the GS without a light protector on, however I wouldn't dare ride without one.
This could be the perfect solution.
Hope the waterproofing is effective and RRP is reasonable.

It’s really a pain in the #$” to clean the headlight with the Lone Rider or the Touratech or other protector and so I think this products is just superb

What I also like, is that every bit of kit, should to have TWO uses (as Sam Manicom keeps saying!).
And this, with the Mirrored cover, means I have a 'Shaving Mirror' when I'm out camping :-)

Headlight guards are a must for these bikes especially if off-roading or even light gravel roads, 1 stone in the wrong place and that's 2 grand down the pan, those led headlights at the moment cant be replaced easily because of manufacturing problems, was at a bmw shop the other day and noticed all new gs1250 bikes was fitted with the old bulb type.
I know, we’re getting them in here having Denali lights fitted. It’s important to know the ammo guard is not compatible with the new temporary halogen bulb configuration.

Simply! The best headlight protection.
Looks great! One thing I thought about was that sealing of the front of the headlight might lead to the headlight not being able to cool down enough since there is no way for the warm/hot air to get out. It might reduce lifespan of the headlight.
Its worth alone for the fact you don't have to take the front of your bike to fit it! That and it looks so much cleaner.
You just sold me on replacing my Lone Rider guard.
As soon as the mirrored lense is available I am buying it. My bike is a triple black 21 very similar to yours because I’m using mostly your parts. So you’ve got me hooked!

Looks great. However, I think it needs additional screws top and bottom of the narrow end. When you tapped the protector at 18:24 you can hear it rattling against the headlight.
Well spotted. This is because the side screws are too long when the coloured filter is not fitted. Remember this is still a prototype. The release version will have shorter screws or bushes to deal with application without the coloured filter.

very very nice new product. Finally without spacers and difficulties with cleaning. However, it is not approved for road traffic in Germany, so everything must be removable/foldable to switch from off-road to on-road. That's why I also have a clear protective pane to fold
Did I hear right, this is a cross-fit for a 1200 LC as well? Have a '14 1200LC GSA so if it fits I'm replacing my lone rider knockoff I M M E D I A T E L Y. The cheap part "does the job" but I don't love the mesh guard look as much as I expected, and bluntly speaking the budget price tag on the Ali part is really indicative of its fit and finish. I'd been looking to replace it with something almost from the moment I installed it, but didn't want to go without protection. Absolutely cannot wait -- almost certainly a day-one purchase for me :)
The mirrored lens Looks Great. Love the all-black GSA - I'll have to trade my blue GSA for a black one.
And I just received my Touratech light protector today ... but yours looks excellent. Something I'll definitely keep in mind.

Looks great. I’ll have one! I do think it will fog up in damp conditions though. You may have to add a couple of breather holes in the bezel out of sight. Think classic car or kit car. They always get moisture in eventually.

Steve, this is great however my concern goes back to a main issue-Protection...a stone hits the perspect or mirrored lens and boom, I will need to buy a perspect or lens replacement and that doesn't sound very practical to me hence Lonerider still offers better protection. Granted, this is aesthetically better looking than LR however, offers way less protection in my opinion. Be that as it may, I did put in my pre order to be shipped to South Africa. ill use it for fancy town rides but out of town, will revert to LR
But isn’t this why we buy a protector? To pay £15 to £20 to replace a Perspex protection screen as opposed to the headlight? LR offers more protection but also hides the headlight even more. End of the day it’s all about personal taste, balance between form and function and what’s right for you

Hello there, I was wondering what if you are driving in night with low beam. You have a turn in front of you. As far as I know this GS have a rotatable low beam module (kind of cornering function). Do you will be able to see yellowish pattern?
Welll I’ve been riding this gs with the adaptive light for nearly 2 years with a lone rider guard . The oem light is not all that good and that’s mainly due to the guard sitting in front of the headlight. I don’t personally notice an amber glow in front of the bike but then again I have Denali lights lighting up my way.

HI Steve love the mirrored look not sure why you would want the Amber filter its a bit bling for me.
The thing I don’t like is, based on your feedback. If you have a set of amber D4’s that your using for DRLs, unless you have a set of D7’s or other white lights, you’re compromised at night. Maybe I misunderstood? My focus is daytime, but I do t want to compromise some sketchy nighttime ride because I try to ride during the daytime.
Any headlight guard will compromise the light being projected down the road. You can’t get away from this. Without any coloured filter in the ammo guard and because our clear lens is much closer to the headlight glass, I believe the headlight beam reduction will not be as bad as the rest of the competition.
@@ABIKETHING The reason yours is worse is that when you’re riding at night you can just flip the LoneRider amber bits down out of the way and you’re left with the aluminum mesh bit, which I can’t tell the difference in lighting because the mesh is so fine. That goes for the Touratech mesh cover too. Unless I’ve misunderstood, it seems like you’re doesn’t have that capability, and even if it did, without a secondary mesh guard, you’d be riding totally naked. Hence, it seems like a very slightly better solution if you’re only riding during the day, which I do, but a greater compromise at night when you really need it, especially if you have the amber D4’s. Maybe I’ve completely missed the point. Does that make sense?

Looks great but what are the chances dust and small debris will collect between the sealed factory headlight lens and the backside of aftermarket protective cover? Will be a bit of a hassle to remove and replace four screws each time you have to clean. I think a pop-on and off cover utilizing rubber vibration damping connectors would be a better option.

This is something we’re testing right now. However, you have just described the lone rider guard so I think maybe the lone rider guard is more suited to you.

R1250gs from 2019 has a G light. In 2021 they upgraded the head light to be adaptive and the key sign is instead of a G shape DRL is now has an X shape DRL.
