Important things from the book that didn't make it into the movie, James Potter (Harry's father), Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew used to be best mates at school and due to Lupin's werewolf condition the others decided to become animagus to be able to stay with him during the full moons. Thus, they gave each other nicknames according to their animal forms, James being Prongs (transformed to a stag), Sirius Padfoot, Peter Wormtail and Remus Moony. So actually they are the ones who created the marauders' map during their school years, the marauders being the name of they friend's group
And why Harry's patronus was a stag--just like his father. If I recall correctly, book Dumbledore says to him later that James was there that night (metaphorically). Also, the Whomping Willow was planted when they were kids, to protect the entrance to the tunnel to the Shrieking Shack, created especially for Lupin as a child. It was said to be haunted because people would hear his howls when he would go there during the full moons.
The fact they became Animagus basically protected them from being bitten, since a werewolf's bite is only dangerous to humans (since they are the werewolf's prey) and, by being Animagi, they were able to stay with Remus. Peter's rat form allowed him to immobilize the Whomping Willow so he, James and Sirius could meet Remus at the Shrieking Shack, while James and Sirius' respective stag and dog forms allowed them to better control Remus' rampages.
1:20:25 It's nice to see a grown man get emotional, and be brought to tears by a movie - a family-friendly fantasy movie. And not just a grown man... a straight, grown man at that. That's just not something one sees very often, but it's very endearing.
I LOVE how you watch this films so philosophically and how you find these hidden meanings to it. I know you said that you didnt want to upload this reactions just to make it a job but pleaase dont leave us hanging this long for the next video! Love you guys, sending love from Mexico.
@@chrisantony6218 Nope. All she did was spreading propaganda with the textbook. If we're talking about good teacher, I give a kudos to Barty Crouch jr. He taught the kids how to fight off Imperius and te reason Harry is immune to it.
@@krantikumarg4532 I think since they were entering hogwarts territory there were dementors in the area, as Dumbledore said. They were probably lured in by Harry's sad past
3:46:50 the girl is absolutely RIGHT! The map (Marauders map) was created by mooney, padfoot, prongs and wormtail as it says on the map Mooney :- lupin Padfoot :- sirius Prongs :- james potter Wormtail :- peter perttigrew (Rat) They made it when they were in hogwarts as kids and were all friends This explanation is left out in the movies…. But i can’t believe you guys caught it lol
I must admit you two are quickly becoming my favorite reactors! You’re very observant and you spend a lot of time going over the nice and small details. Well done ya’ll! I understand why it’s draining but the effort is clear and it’s greatly appreciated!!
Im so glad you picked up on the depth behind Hermione saying "no one is coming" to Harry. I always cry at that scene because Harry looked so happy and full of hope waiting there believing his dad was coming to save him and you briefly see his expression turn to one of sadness just before he runs to the edge of the lake where it quickly turns into one of bravery. The concept of dementors and patronums is beautiful. Dementors are depression and the patronum spell is an excellent way of reminding us that we can "save" ourselves, if not through self love, then through the memories of love that others have for you. The light pulsating almost looks like hes exhaling it. Not to mention the gorgeous roaring of the music.
That scene is so emotional and pivotal. Breathtaking to watch. It really does highlight themes of mental health and depression, and how sometimes we stand by and watch ourselves suffer, waiting for someone to save us because we haven’t yet realized our own potential in saving ourselves. We can only see ourselves suffering, the same way Harry only saw himself dying as the dementors were sucking the soul from him. But with a little perspective, an awakening, we understand that we are not only the self that’s experiencing the pain, but the self that is observing the entire thing unravel as well. I love to think that although his father didn’t quite literally step in and cast the Patronus charm; in those last moments when Harry finally steps forward compelled to save himself, part of it could be because a piece of his father’s spirit resides within him. The urge to save him, the Patronus being a Stag (his father’s animagus), could show that indirectly/through Harry, his father does save him, but Harry has to be the one to channel it. I believe that it’s exactly like you said, that through the memories of love that others have for you, light can take form. It’s the love that Harry’s mother has that saved him from Voldemort, and the love his father has that contributes to saving him from the dementors. And it’s so filled with grief, and beauty. It’s why this franchise and these movies are very impactful. My eyes also well up for Harry every time he is forced to face pain and with every loss he’s had to undergo. Thank you for your comment, it was so beautifully written and added some perspective that we’ll talk more about in our last reaction! ✨ - Gabi
My favorite things about Prisoner Of Azkaban: 1. The song "Double Trouble". 2. Hermione punching Malfoy right in his smug face. 3. The introduction of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black and David Thewlis as Remus Lupin. 4. Harry flying on Buckbeak's back over Hogwarts (SPECTACULAR scenery).
@@mentallygonereacts Malfoy fully deserved it. Side note: Richard Harris played Professor Albus Dumbledore from Sorcerer's Stone to Chamber Of Secrets (he died after the second movie wrapped). Michael Gambon took over the role from Prisoner Of Azkaban to Deathly Hallows part 2. Richard Harris died of Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2002, Michael Gambon died of pneumonia last September.
A small clarification: when Lupin transforms into a werewolf, Sirius asks him: "You didn't take your potion tonight?" This is explained in the book: avoiding the transformation is impossible, but the potion helps Lupin keep his mind in the wolf form, so he wouldn't hurt anyone or worse. And it has to be taken every evening for two weeks before the transformation: even if one day is skipped, it won't work. (There's a little inconsistency here as well: in the book, Lupin mentions that this potion was a recent invention, and Sirius probably didn't know about its existence)
I am beyond impressed that you figured out who the Marauders were. Most people don't figure that out until they read the books.Yes, you are correct. Mooney is Lupin, Padfoot is Sirius, Wormtail is Peter Pettigrew and Prongs is James Potter. They were all best friends when they went to school together and created that map.
The depth to which you go with your analysis is what makes your channel stand out. Amazing amount of dedication and many great insights. You two are really sharp.
You guys picked up on so many clues about Lupin (the full moon, the facial scratches), I thought for sure you would figure it out before the reveal! I totally thought Gabriella had it at one point.
While in college, it rained every day for the month of March. It rains because of the Dementors. They played against Hufflepuff because Draco faked his injury after he was better. The Chocolate it the actual treatment for an encounter with a dementor. And they get darker the rest of the series.
I personally love rain (Caley), I lived in Brazil for 6-7 years and tropical storms were very frequent where I lived. Some months it would rain almost everyday too. Those afterschool naps to the sound of rain were hands down some of the best sleep I've ever had lol
Patronus's and animagus are usually the same animal. However your patronus can change if you are deeply affected by an emotion. This happens to Draco's cousin (not in the films). It is a particularly difficult magic to become an animagus. Prongs (James Potter) is the 4th Marauder and is a stag! The whomping willow was deliberately planted when Lupin was a pupil. This was to protect students from entering the passageway and the haunted shrieking shack rumour was spread by Dumbledore (the sounds were Lupin as a werewolf). Lupin was using the map so knew where Harry was (and Pettigrew) but left it open when he went to the shack, so Snape saw it too. Hermione is bad at Trawleney's class because she can't learn it in books. She gives up that class and muggle studies, so doesn't need the time turner from now on. Don't worry about Harry being the 3rd wheel: all progresses next film!
In retrospect, that's Cedrick Diggory (soon to be Robert Pattinson) getting zapped during the Quidditch match. In the novel, he captured the snitch and won the match, something his father boasts at the start of the next novel, Goblet of Fire.
We definitely felt the shift, first movie felt like a warm hug, this one not so much... lol. Excited to grow with Harry as he progresses on his journey! This one is our favorite out of the three so far
@@mentallygonereacts Yeah, the third movie is actually a fan favorite precisely because it's the perfect balance of the previous movies' lighthearted atmosphere with the next ones' darker and more mature story. It serves to tell us that, from that point on, there's only sadness, pain and grief... and a big deal of depression... and I am not talking about just the characters...
Quite a lot of the cast have died: Richard Harris (Dumbledore in first two films), Michael Gambon (Dumbledore in the rest of the films), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Alan Rickman (Snape), Sir John Hurt (Ollivander the wandmaker), Robert Hardy (Minister Cornelius Fudge) and Richard Griffiths (Vernon Dursely) have all died, as well as some other supporting actors who you haven't encountered yet and a lot of minor-role actors too. So you very much are watching a film series of ghosts.
No, Lupin didn't slash the Fat Lady's portrait. Sirius did that when he tried to look for Wormtail in the Gryffindor common room. No, Lupin didn't get his scars from Buckbeak attacking him. He got those from years of transformation every month. He also bit and scratched himself several times, as he says in the book.
Yeah, he would lock himself up when he would transformed and since werewolves lose control whenever they transform and they don't do well in captivity, Lupin would always harm himself as a result.
Just watching a bit more of your discussion, and Gabriella thinking of Lupus instead of Lupin is perfect. Lupus is Latin for wolf, and Lupin is from Latin Lupinus, "of the wolf." Lupin's first name, Remus, is a reference to Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of Rome, who were nursed by a she-wolf. Also, I can totally see the rabbit and black panther! You're right that the patronus manifests as a sort of spirit animal. Everyone has a patronus if they're able to cast the spell. Harry's patronus is the same as his father's--a stag. I think when a wizard becomes an animagus (an extremely advanced form of magic), they don't choose the animal. They take the form of the animal that best represents them, so it's like their spirit animal, as well. I do hope you both read the books. The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Deathly Hallows (#7) rival each other as my favorite. #3 is so good because for the first time you start getting a strong sense of who Harry's parents were, and how it all contributed to events in Harry's life. Each succeeding book reveals more of the mystery of the past.
You guys are the best! You are in for a treat with the rest of the Harry Potter movies! As the characters age, the story matures. Definitely read the books and tell us what you think of them! I'm at the deep end, watch as I dive in... :D

These are the types of talks I want haha :) The mind body soul analysis especially with hermione being like a projection of Harry's mum was excellent! all of it was :)
Just discovered you guys, and loved your really fantastic reaction. I guess it's fair to say we watch reactions to relive the first time we saw something we love, so the best is when someone lives the film, and you certainly did. Plus some of the things you said - Wow! - you don't know why yet, but just Wow.

Im from Brazil and when I discovered the channel I had no idea that you were Brazilian, please speak more Portuguese! / cara é tão satisfatório escutar você falando português! sou do brasil e quando conheci o canal não fazia ideia que você era brasileiro, por favor fala mais em português!
Caley, until this very moment I didn't know that you grew up in Brazil (i'm brazilian). That's so cool. And yes, i remember America very well: "boi bandido" was almost a mythic creature, and novela was a PHENOMENON in terms of storytelling gender on brazilian TV - specially in the 90s and the 2000s. Great reaction, guys! This movie is probably my favorite as well - the tone keeps getting darker and darker in each movie. Um abraço do Brasil, amigos!
The Author said the Dementors represent Depression. The dementors suck the happiness out of the prisoners until they completley lose any sense of self living with only their darkest thoughts. However sirius says he knew he was innocent but that wasnt a happy thought so the Dementors couldnt take it from him
This is the first movie WB tried different director in this universe he set the tone literally for the entire series coming forth chris colombus who directed 1 and 2 didn't want to spend his time directing entire series so they dont have chance and decided to look for new director..they found Alphonso and it went very well in this universe
You guys are one of the few people who really appreciate the scene at 1:19:54. You can tell it impacted you, the sound, the imagery, it was beautiful. I hardly see reactors get emotionally invested when that scene comes up. It is one of the top scenes from the series! Years later, I still get chills when i watch it.
The Original Dumbledore of the 1s2 2 movies (Richard Harris) died shortly after filming for the 2nd movie finished. He never saw the completed 2nd film. Actor Michael Gambon who plays Dumbledore from HP3 through HP8 died in late 2022 or early 2023. His death was recent. We lost Snape (Alan Rickman) to cancer in 2016. Hagrid’s actor died in 2023 within a month or so of Michael Gambon (2nd Dumbledore). The Harry Potter movies spanned 2001-2011. (Many of the adult HP actors have passed on). Dame Maggie Smith (McGonagal) is the exception She is 89 and still alive in 2024. One of the Slytherin boys from HP6, called “Belby” and shown in the dinner party scene of HP6, was tragically murdered while attempting to break up an altercation in reel life, before the cast reunited to film HP7. He was 17 The Actress who plays Draco’s Mom passed from cancer 3 years ago. I think the number of cast deaths is in the mid twenties to low thirties currently. Thankfully, these great actors live on in these great movies they provided to the world.

The way you two are zoomed out to be able to see the bigger picture and all of the details shows how much inner work both of you have done. I don't know if somebody else already answered this or not, but you are correct to assume that a dark wizard cannot usually produce a patronus. A particularly famous dark wizard from history famously met his end as a result of attempting to produce a patronus.
A Griffin is a mythical creature with the wings and head of an eagle, and the body of a lion. A Hippogriff is a griffin crossed with a horse (Hippo- Latin/Greek for Horse).

58:05 Here are the the differences between crows & ravens. Ravens differ from crows in appearance by their larger bill, tail shape, flight pattern and by their large size. Ravens are as big as Red-tailed Hawks, and crows are about the size of pigeons.
Ravens are definitely larger than crows and comparable to Hawks (aka Buzzards if not in America) in size, yes, but Crows vary a good bit in size and a number of them are still notably bigger than pigeons.
2:55:14 That was really interesting what you have said about shirnking shack But it has been explained like this in books: when lupin was a little boy he didn't want to come to hogwash because of his horrible transformations... and back then there there wasn't a potion for people of his condition ( later on a potion was invented )but dumbldore personaly arranged his present in hogwarts and every month he went to shirking shak and transformed there but it was a very painful process so lupin would screem alot and after that villagers who heard that sound start to spreading this rumour that this place is haunted and because dombeldor wanted to protect lupin he actually spread this rumour more and more...but it was never actually haunted
One of the things that was left out of the movie but was in The Prisoner of Azkaban novel is that James Potter (Harry's father), Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew were the original inventors of The Marauders Map. That is the reason why Professor Lupin knew how to use it. When the original Marauders were students in Hogwarts they were all best friends. When James, Sirius and Peter found out that Remus is a werewolf they decided to become Animagus (wizards that can willfully magically turn into an animal just like Professor McGonagall can turn into a cat) because werewolves don't attack other animals and Remus' friends didn't want him to be alone during the full moon period. This is why the map reveals the weird names when you use the "I solemnly swear I am up to no good" spell. They were the nicknames of the Marauders. Mooney is Remus Lupin because he is a werewolf. Padfoot is Sirius Black because his animagus form is a dog. Wormtail is Peter Pettigrew because his animagus form is a rat. And James Potter is Prongs because his animagus form is a stag. Dumbledore knew about Remus' condition and how Remus became a werewolf when he was only a very small child. So he had the Womping Willow tree planted and had a tunnel put in so that Remus can hide in the Shrieking Shack during the full moon cycle. 🌜🌕🌛🐺🐶🦌🐀🪄🌳🏚
I saw this comment online, regarding why Sirius growled at Harry in the park. Sirius Black first growled at Harry at the park because he was trying to scare him into accidentally summoning the Knight Bus. This was done to ensure Harry’s safety from the dementors that were following him.
This film unfortunately fails to mention the Marauders were James (Harry's dad), Remus (Professor Lupin), Sirius and Peter Pettigrew. They were best friends growing up and they created the map. James, Sirius and Peter made themselves animagus so that Remus wouldn't be or feel alone as a werewolf. The director, Alfonso Cuaron, is a world renowned director and his sauce really shows in this film. However book fans feel about the left-out information from the books and the tonal shift from the first two movies, this film definitely had style. As a faithful adaptation, the first two are much better. As a standalone film, this one definitely outshines the rest imo. It just has so much style.

Tech tip for the camera recording timer. You could record your footage directly to the computer without relying on the internal recording of the camera. Here's how: Get a CamLink (or a similar capture card/ converter) and a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable. Use these to connect your Sony a7iii to your PC. Then you can simply use OBS to record your session, which will both get your footage directly to your PC hard drive, AND bypass the camera's internal limit when recording to SD-cards.
Your guys are spot on with the patronus speculation that a person's patronus can match their animagus. James' animagus and patronus are both the Stag and Lily's was the Doe. Ya'll have seen the movies now so I'm sure your caught up and possibly caught up to finding out that Snape was in love with Lily and voweled to protect Harry because his love for her but when Lily died it affected Snape so emotionally that his patronus that had once been a Bat had transformed into a Doe. Dumbledore asks him about his patronus transformation and questions Snape if he had always felt affection for Lily and that is when he tells Dumbledore "Always". Harry's patronus is the Stag because his happiest memory is of seeing his parents. He carried over his father patronus as his own.
I like your emotions, when you are trying so hard not to break down. This put tears in my eyes, cause this was THE moment of the movie. So beautiful, that this kid has so much hope, so much love in his to be happy to live with his uncle. That was his power. This is epic.
The actress who plays aunt Marge plays Ms trenchbull in Matilda Edit: 30:08 I like it when dirty jokes slip through the pg rating Edit 2: 30:57 this scene settles it, hermione and Ron like each other, there’s no denying it now Edit 3: 46:10 yes they sure have, and they’ll spend quite a bit of time with each other in the later films.
Thank you for the support Howard! We're already itching to react to the next ones, feels like it's getting better and better with each installment at this point
@@mentallygonereacts It's a hell of a ride bro, this one in particular felt like it acted as the archetypal bridge between the youthful innocence of the first films and the darkness becoming reflected in the progression of the story and ending, but the third installment still retains that element of playfulness as it is being transmuted onwards
There should have been more emphasis on animagus. I'm glad you noticed that in Professor McGonagall. There's a whole rule about animagus, it's an advanced magic, not everyone can do it, you need to register to be an animagus, and there are only countable numbers of animagus out there- "legally". Sirius is not.
1:57:27 "One must die in order to be reborn" -- that's exactly the meaning of the Death card in tarot! I'm mentioning this because of how you talked about the Fool earlier in your commentary, and your line about something needing to die in order to undergo transformation and rebirth is really the true meaning of the Death card. It's the most misunderstood card in the whole deck (78 cards in all) because movies and shows often use it to create drama ("OH NO SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE!") when in reality, it's more like a caterpillar-to-chrysallis-to-butterfly situation. Some examples of how the Death card can show up on a smaller, more mundane level: decluttering and spring cleaning your home, letting go of a bad habit to bring in a healthier lifestyle, breaking up with a toxic partner, trimming back the dead branches of a houseplant to let new buds and new growth come in, getting a haircut, shedding an identity or coping mechanism that helped you survive something traumatic, but is no longer serving you (like being a perfectionist; it was the only way you would receive love and approval as a child, but now as an adult it's creating burnout or even isolation because it pushes other people away). Just leaving this here in case someone is afraid of Tarot because of the Death card. Believe me; every Tarot reader I know thinks of it as a good thing, because it means a transformation/rebirth/breath of fresh air is right around the corner (:
This is my simple analogy: Dementor characteristics: Everything frrezes on contact - season of death - Winter ❄️ Sucking souls - Depression, PTSD, and Anxiety Black cloak - veil between the Living and the Dead. When the body dies, the body gets COLD, icy cold. Capabilities: Takes away your Light - Power of oneself. Removes your conforming zone completely like a blanket removed from you in a situation that is cold and being alone.
Yeah, I'm Brazilian, I remember the novela america and boi bandido, I even remember people saying that he was very agressivo in real life and remembered people talking when he also died in real life too 😅
I think Alfonso Cuarón did a wonderful job with this movie. I would have loved for him to direct a couple more, but oh well. There's one thing I completely agree with: laughter can weaken fear. To me, that's pretty normal, but I only realized it after watching this movie multiple times. We Mexicans tend to make a joke out of everything-we even have this phrase: "nos reímos hasta de la muerte" (we laugh even in the face of death) or "me río para no llorar" (I laugh so I don’t cry). That way, heavy things feel a lot easier to handle. ♥ 1:52:42 i'm not sure about it but considering a Boggart shows our fear... i think it can hurt you...idk lol
Midway through your discussion, but could not contain the urge to say THIS is perhaps the greatest post-movie discussion you've had so far. Better even than the one after LOTR "Return of the King", which had to encompass a huge universe created by one of the most intelligent and inventive writers in recent history... seems like "Harry Potter" brings the best in you (AND in many others), since it talks about the same key, deep concepts in a way that makes them relatable... Admittedly, this is one of the most amazing films in the series, with regard to plot twists and empowering message, though others are not short of those, and arguably more beautiful / epic / emotional. And while it does not explain every important detail like the book does (others will have commented on those omissions), it DOES capture the spirit and the tapestry of occult meanings that forms the background. I don't know how, but this talk, and the connections you keep coming to (not "coming up with", because one looks, and they are there!) are amazing. Like the one about needing to clean one's mind and become a fool to really SEE - an ages-old theme, running through the philosophical treatises and folk tales of many nations. See the Germanic myth of Parcifal (which approximates, in old language, to "pure but fool"), as the one to become worthy of the Holy Grail, i. e. Divinity. The whole discussion of hipogriffs was also very pertinent, I could only add that a "griff" (or griffin, or griphon) is also a mythical and heraldic impersonation of a mighty bird - usually with lions legs, but changed here all for the good - that represents the noble family lines, a sense of higher good, of virtue. And, of course, who did not LOL at "hipogriffs attack hypocrites"?!? :D On the other hand, I pointed both fingers and shouted "Yes", when you came up with the ideas such as the Patronus being representative of the human's soul and / or their spirit animal. OR the genius psychological insight into Hermione, and her likeness to Harry's mother! (P. S.: Plus, the "Holy Trinity" of our Golden Trio enhancing each other like alchemical elements... and YES, Hermione develops increasingly more "soul", or should we say, empathy as the story goes - already seen in this movie, but even more onward.) Sometimes I wonder if J. K. Rowling herself had all those things in mind while composing the story - but all the same, this web of ideas has much truth in it, since she obviously was using sources in philosophy and history of the human mind that were right! We are, most of us, part of the same tradition, leaning of same myths of creation, similar religious symbols, and experiences... The last I will say (without spoiling): just you watch and remember, "when the time comes", how many of your thoughts and observations uttered today (plus the discussion of previous films) will ring true, in glorious light even, in the next installments of this saga. No kidding, halfway through your talk I thought at least thrice, "Wow, this appears almost verbatim in the movie 5... or 7... or..."! Knowledge connected to intuition works miracles! (P. P. S.: Gabriela's insight into Moonie, Padfoot, Wormtail - and PRONGS :) - without the whole 4 friends' storyline even being really mentioned in the movie, piecing that together form secondary details... well that WAS a "no way, this is crazy" moment! Pure example of the intuition that part of humanity is blessed with, put to best informed use I have seen from reactors lately.)

The Dementors cause the rain, Mist and Fog according to one of the books its what they use to Breed. Lupin said it would be much worse with a acctual Dementor because they feed on Emotions and the school full of kids is is full of wmotions hence why Dumbledore made sure to keep them outside the castle grounds. Great reaction,, Cannot wait to see your reactions moving forward.. If you think this is dark now,,, prepare for more.
I adore this movie, but I don't love that they skimmed over the fact that Lupin wasn't helping Sirius into the castle the whole time. He also believed Sirius was guilty at the time, up until Harry says he saw Peter Pettigrew on the map.
In many interviews JK Rowling has explained that what inspired her creation of Dementors for her Harry Potter books was her own severely deep depression that she had suffered for a while after she divorced her abusive husband and became a single mother on welfare. It just so happened that it was during this difficult period she began to write Harry Potter.📝 📚
I love you guys. You're so profound with your analogies and realizations. I've been watching y'all for sometime with so many movies starting with Interstellar. I can't wait for y'all to finish up the HP series.
As you mentioned, that it means a lot to you to know, that Dumbledore's Actor has passed: The actor of Hagrid has unfortunately also passed away. Not just because of that, but in general I would suggest to watch the "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" where you can see all the actors coming together again, after 20 years. Greetings from Germany!♥
The voice of the knightbus shrunken head is British comic Lenny Henry. He is a great comic. And the Fat Lady in the painting screaming is another British Comic Dawn French who was married to Lenny.
Sorry for my English in advance, here is some anwers I haven't found in a recent comment section: - Boggart can kill you with the fear you feel when you meet it. - As you already know who Maradeurs were another thing that good to point out is how Sirius managed to get into the castle - by that exact reason that he was the creator of the Map so he knew all the secret roads in the castle, twins advised Harry to use one of it in order to get to Hogsmeade. - It's fascinating how, after rewatching Harry Potter uncountable times starting from their releases dates, I just recently discovered the true psychological reason why Harry was able to summon a phisical Patronus the second time. Remember what kind of memories he uses for casting non-phisical Patronus - his parents, family that he's never had. But after the whole events with Sirius, after finding out that he is a good person, the enormous happieness of finaly having his godfather, someone who has deep connection with his parents and with whom he can have a proper family from now, - and now been dying right infront of him on the lake - I think that this is the only one true reason why now he is able to summon a phisical Patronus. - Btw, Hagrid's motorbike from the first movie was originaly belong to Sirius.
don't know if it's already in here somewhere: the dementors are inspired by Tolkins wraiths and are Rowlings personification of depression. they make you forget (dementia -> dementor) all your happy memories and make you relieve your worst ones. everything turns cold and when you can't fight them anymore and surrender to the depression you just become and empty shell of a body that does not really live anymore but is still not dead (in HP you lose your soul). and that is also why you must think of your happiest memory to cast a patronus. also it is very interesting that boggarts and dementors seem to share some traits/themes. i think of them as related but obviously not the same. like for example in our world dogs, bears and seals are all related but still different
The place that Harry went to in the beginning is the Leaky cauldron the same place Hagrid took him in the first film to get to Diagon Alley. The guy with the Hunchback is Tom he's the owner and he's actually the same character that you see in the first film that asks if Hagrid would like his usual. It is portrayed by a different actor for some reason in this movie they decided to change the character slightly with the hunchback. The reason for the actors for being switched if I'm not mistaken as the original one passed away.
Let’s gooooo
Hands down our favorite Harry Potter film so far!
And that's how Lupin knew to say "Mischief managed!"
@guitarfreak342
I farted while reading about your fart.... Fartception
@@melanie62954 It surprises me that more reviewers don’t ask themselves how he knows that.
Lupin was the BEST teacher they had
The stag patronus is called a corporeal patronus, a full body patronus which reveals an animal
A patronus can be any animal
Damn right
Umbridge was really good though
@@chrisantony6218 Nope. All she did was spreading propaganda with the textbook. If we're talking about good teacher, I give a kudos to Barty Crouch jr. He taught the kids how to fight off Imperius and te reason Harry is immune to it.
Knowing that james potter was able to turn into a stag makes that scene even more emotional

The map (Marauders map) was created by mooney, padfoot, prongs and wormtail as it says on the map
Mooney :- lupin
Padfoot :- sirius
Prongs :- james potter
Wormtail :- peter perttigrew (Rat)
They made it when they were in hogwarts as kids and were all friends

Alfonso Cuarón made such a unique mark on the series with this film. Definitely my favorite in the series.

Nice video!!👏🏻👏🏻
✨ - Gabi
My favorite things about Prisoner Of Azkaban:
That Harry and Buckbeak scene felt like an out of body experience and Hermione punching Malfoy felt incredibly cathartic lol!
@@mentallygonereacts
Malfoy fully deserved it.
And 5: the lake scene with dementers and patronus spell...what an excellent and powerful scene .
@@Ioanna-tk1ss That was spectacular

55:52 not going to give any spoilers but this comment about “cat lady vibes” struck me as funny knowing something that comes in a later movie.
I was thinking the exact same thing! Made me laugh.
Professor snape is the one to brew the potion every month for Lupin.
Oooh I didn't remember this from the books, that's cool, thx for the info
he is reading the books so I wouln't give him more info since he is going to read it
I am beyond impressed that you figured out who the Marauders were.
@@mentallygonereacts morou em que parte do Brasil?
From this movie on everything turns dark, scary and mature! 😮💨
We definitely felt the shift, first movie felt like a warm hug, this one not so much... lol. Excited to grow with Harry as he progresses on his journey! This one is our favorite out of the three so far
The series ages up with its viewers, just like the books.
@@rafaelmatos5851however it's the lowest grossing of all HP movies. sad considering it's the most critically acclaimed.
@@laramiaizz Really? Wow, I didn’t know that. I wonder why. It’s probably my favorite.
Guys... I just finished your reaction (the film part). Did you seriously talk for 3 more hours????? This is love...
In my language he is called Remus Lupus.
You guys are the best! You are in for a treat with the rest of the Harry Potter movies! As the characters age, the story matures. Definitely read the books and tell us what you think of them!

The Author said the Dementors represent Depression.
The dementors suck the happiness out of the prisoners until they completley lose any sense of self living with only their darkest thoughts.
However sirius says he knew he was innocent but that wasnt a happy thought so the Dementors couldnt take it from him

I don't know if somebody else already answered this or not, but you are correct to assume that a dark wizard cannot usually produce a patronus. A particularly famous dark wizard from history famously met his end as a result of attempting to produce a patronus.

That was really interesting what you have said about shirnking shack
But it has been explained like this in books: when lupin was a little boy he didn't want to come to hogwash because of his horrible transformations... and back then there there wasn't a potion for people of his condition ( later on a potion was invented )but dumbldore personaly arranged his present in hogwarts and every month he went to shirking shak and transformed there but it was a very painful process so lupin would screem alot and after that villagers who heard that sound start to spreading this rumour that this place is haunted and because dombeldor wanted to protect lupin he actually spread this rumour more and more...but it was never actually haunted

Here's how:
Get a CamLink (or a similar capture card/ converter) and a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable.

This is my simple analogy:
Dementor characteristics:
Everything frrezes on contact - season of death - Winter ❄️
Sucking souls - Depression, PTSD, and Anxiety
Black cloak - veil between the Living and the Dead. When the body dies, the body gets COLD, icy cold.
Capabilities: Takes away your Light - Power of oneself.
Removes your conforming zone completely like a blanket removed from you in a situation that is cold and being alone.

"Knowledge is power" I kind of the slogan of Ravenclaws and celebrating strong spirits is a very grifindor thing
On a separate note, when you question whether or not you can choose your animagus animal or your patronus. You can not.
Yeah, I'm Brazilian, I remember the novela america and boi bandido, I even remember people saying that he was very agressivo in real life and remembered people talking when he also died in real life too 😅
Can't wait for the next.😍 im always waiting for ur reactions guys. What took so long.haha
1:52:42 i'm not sure about it but considering a Boggart shows our fear... i think it can hurt you...idk lol
Can't wait for you guys to see the next one !!.it's my favorite next to the last 2 parter movie
On the other hand, I pointed both fingers and shouted "Yes", when you came up with the ideas such as the Patronus being representative of the human's soul and / or their spirit animal.
I was shocked when u said "cinto" and immediately thought you sounded brazilian 😂 then i read your channel description and understood. Amazing reaction, i love how detailed and immersed you guys can get. Btw i have tbe same last name as Gabriella, and thats also my sisters first and last name, pretty cool 😂 You guys are doing a great job, boa sorte na jornada!
Nobody is coming to save you, you save yourself (from depression)
"I used to do that with my DS", all of a sudden I grow a big white beard as I remember doing that with my green screened Game Boy. Learning that you're from Brazil is amazing, cheers from your homeland!
I can't wait for y'all to finish up the HP series.
they keep getting better hope you like the darker tone
As you mentioned, that it means a lot to you to know, that Dumbledore's Actor has passed:
The actor of Hagrid has unfortunately also passed away. Not just because of that, but in general I would suggest to watch the "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts" where you can see all the actors coming together again, after 20 years.
Greetings from Germany!♥
Crows travel in flocks, Ravens travel in pairs. 58:09
Girl! 😂😂😂😂my poor ears can’t take much more of those blood curdling screams😂😂😂😂
The voice of the knightbus shrunken head is British comic Lenny Henry. He is a great comic.
And the Fat Lady in the painting screaming is another British Comic Dawn French who was married to Lenny.
Sorry for my English in advance, here is some anwers I haven't found in a recent comment section:
- Boggart can kill you with the fear you feel when you meet it.
- Btw, Hagrid's motorbike from the first movie was originaly belong to Sirius.
hats off to the girl for finding out about the map before reading the books 🤩
ive watched tens of reactions and you are by far on top guys , enjoyed watching
Ótima reação de vcs!! Estou ansioso para os próximos filmes! 🇧🇷
It is always raining because Hogwarts is in the Scottish Highlands, so it rains a lot!
1:19:05 no, that was from the last moon, when he skip the class 💀
1:22:29 the word is “on the run” xd
1:24:56 this movie is a fan favourite as well
I thought the reaction was of the whole movie without cuts lol
43:30 "Merry Chrysler" OMG I thought I was the only one who said that! 😂😂 Who remembers that meme?
don't know if it's already in here somewhere: the dementors are inspired by Tolkins wraiths and are Rowlings personification of depression. they make you forget (dementia -> dementor) all your happy memories and make you relieve your worst ones. everything turns cold and when you can't fight them anymore and surrender to the depression you just become and empty shell of a body that does not really live anymore but is still not dead (in HP you lose your soul). and that is also why you must think of your happiest memory to cast a patronus. also it is very interesting that boggarts and dementors seem to share some traits/themes. i think of them as related but obviously not the same. like for example in our world dogs, bears and seals are all related but still different
1:20:25 No worries. I always cry when this scene is on screen 😄🥹❤️ It's so freaking beautiful and powerful.
1:20:15 yes, I know😭 it makes me so emotional seeing Harry saving himself
