I work in retail and personally I absolutely find it annoying when someone wants to buy stuff that comes to $13.00 (or anything under $20.00) and all they have is a big bill (like $100) and you can't break it. If there is a bank and the tellers are open, go there. Convenience stores are not banks people.

Telling a person, "get off the property" more than twice, is almost as outrageous when a stranger. This is why the public has such disrespect for police. When an unrelated person injects themselves into an investigation, they should be arrested immediately.

Even if the clerk had the capability of breaking that $100 by virtue of having enough smaller bills in his drawer, it still might be against store-policy, in which case he gets in trouble for accepting it.
I'm pretty sure that most people know that drive-through fast-food restaurants and gas-stations have a policy about 'big-bills'. Go to the Wal-Mart or other grocery store that's right up the street - they'll take it happily, and you get a 99¢ piece of gum and call it a day.
