What I love about the show is how unbelievably believable it is. If you have ever lived in Norway, you know it's not totally fiction. The characters from Lilyhammer totally exist!
The real Lillyhammer town is called “Lillehammer”
This was such a good show. I hate that it was cancelled. I started watching during a very difficult time in my life, I was going through horrible withdrawal symptoms from opioids and benzos and this show somehow made it more bearable. I have been clean for 10 years now thankfully, but I still take it one day at a time!

@@5urg3xfuck. It happens man, most people in recovery relapse sooner or later. I quit benzos & opiates 3 months ago and relapsed twice. I’m almost a month clean now (again) and it’s tough as shit but I know life will be much brighter on the other side. As addicts, escapism is in our nature, so replacing escapism through drugs with escapism in the form of TV shows, movies, music etc. is one of the best things you can do. Rewatching Lilyhammer rn and I love it
How you holding up now bro? Those benzos are a butch to get off of along with the opiates I got off the same shit I couldn’t sleep for what felt like weeks after getting off the benzos but being put on suboxone saved my life truly, if you haven’t tried it you should brother I’m rooting for you
Man this hate on opiates really sucks. They help me so much with my chronic pain. Id have killed myself years ago if opiates didn't exist.

Watching it for the 4th time now, done so every couple of years. It’s just the perfect combination of British, Scandinavian and US humor, with great writing and amazing characters - a pinch larger than life. The soundtrack just immediately puts me at ease.
That first (train) scene just really sets the tone, doesn’t it. Even though I’d always love to see more, I think the story finishes out pretty good.

I really enjoyed Lilyhammer. Watched it in 3 days. Lillhammer deserves definitely another season!!! Love it! Original script, original actours, humor, suspension, beautifull scenery. One more season!

I always thought the reason it only lasted three seasons was because most people don't have the attention span to read subtitles. It was a great show but impossible to find all seasons on region 1 dvd. They need to release a new box set for US.

That series was an absolute masterpiece.... Just brilliant.
I absolutely love this Show! I think they messed up when the female agent destroyed the back room poker games. They should have kept it, and made more scenes in jt. Nonetheless Season 1 and 2 are GREAT!

Lilyhammer aired on international TV before it hit Netflix in the US. House of Cards is Netflix's first original series...but shhhh, we can't talk about that show anymore.
It was aired in Norway by NRK the producer 10 days before it was released in North America. Then later in the year after it had been released in a lot of Europe it was released on Netflix in the Nordics.

I liked the first season of Lillyhammer. They got a little too ambitious in season 2 and they continued on that path in season 3.. Seems like they tried to match the epicness of The Sopranos without succeeding. They tried to be more than they had any right to be. Could be the reason why we never got a fourth season

Yes, the European originals are absolutely watchable. Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) lay completely naked in bed in the Danish original film for Nightwatch, - unfortunately Ewan McGregor did not.....
