Stumbled across your v65 guide yesterday, and then I see you're doing a v66 guide (as well as DF guides), fucking hell man, most swiftly-earned sub ever.
I've been watching you off and on for a while, and after a break i just came back. Your work was always helpful, but you have grown a lot and I find your presentation more concise, clear, and useful. Please keep it up!
Thank you so much for this guide series. I just got this game, and I was feeling quite overwhelmed (this is my first city builder/colony sim game). With the help of your guides, I feel like I have a fighting chance!
This was actually a good time for a new vrelease for all of us new buyers. Enough time to get familiar with how it handles, not enough to have sprawling saves that'd be difficult to abandon.
Thank you very much Icon. A already played the demo version for a while, now on the official V66 beta. Your explanations help me a lot to understand the mechanics of the game much better.
This will be a hard tutorial: no stone for human race is quite a feat! The fishery could have been build later, it's quite labour intensive and 10 population is not that much to do so. You should mention that it's best to store things in the warehouse rather than let it rot on the ground, the spoilage is lower. Assigning a worker to the warehouse is good now, but there's this new fetch button that has been created + 4 pull buttons identified by the "?" that appeared. Toggling the fetch button will make your deliveryman get all the items laying around or in the factories in the radius of the warehouse that have empty crates for. The 4 pull buttons will let players select another warehouse where ressources can be taken from. On the left side there's the lock drawing that will let you lock in the inventory of that warehouse to secure it, let's say for a new building. It's not clear what odd-jobbers will do, if they're going to carry stuff to the nearest warehouse or what. In previous versions, the fetch button was located beside the "+" crate sign, now it will be activated for all crate or none. I don't know if haulers are better now, that could be a better option to carry the fish into the warehouse radius and have your deliveryman pick it up after. Also, I'm amazed to see how the base fertility is on your map. There's a huge difference with v65! Can't wait to see you expend your capital.
For those who prefer GOG for purchasing the game, and confused why V66 is not running? Same concept as Steam - Right click Songs of Syx, manage installation, configure, Beta channel - Select V66. The game is a few dollars less on GOG than Steam (Least it was for me) so take that as you will. The sale also extends into May, so you have some time if you are still trying out the Demo. Also, S Rank on this video coming out in time for V66 - I was not expecting a video to show up for at least a week, or two. Crazy timing.
Just got the game, thank you for the guides. How often does it update and is each game version that drastically different to learn with you making new guides?
I think you are wrong about the seeds every time you reganerate you have a diffrent seed and you need to press the top right icon (that says generate terrain above the map) to reveal it if you then press generate again with the same seed the map would be pretty similiar to your current one ofcourse not the same some rivers adn stuf like that could be a bit different but the layout and mountains are pretty similar
what is the CLICKING noise it's driving me insane I also want to state that you should really look at your race, ic0n said you should just make wood houses, this is fine for humans. But all races have certain material they like. I'm playing as Amevias currently, (the fish dudes) and they hate wood buildings but love mud houses. If you are new, I highly recommend clicking "Plebeians", the far top left button. Click on the race your playing on the left then select the "?" and read about your race. They all have different preferences of everything.
Daily release schedule for all my series! If it's pre-uploaded, it'll be released in a daily fashion as a rule on my channel. All content free, I just give channel members early access, is all.
In long terms yes, in short terms no. At the beginning of the game having enough food is insanely important. You can later (when you can afford many pastures) use the Leather income from the pastures as well. But early on I'd rather recommend using Hunters for Leather and focus into other agricultural branches for food. Early on nothing beats Hunters in terms of income speed. They are fast to set up (Pastures take long) and yield a good income directly. Hope this helps o/
Yeah, I introduce the haulers a bit later in the series for exactly that solution. I build way more small warehouses now with v66 for a supply grid and so far it worked quite nicely with a hauler here and there.
Started a game in this version, 35 pop, couslnt get past it because people kept murdering eachother too much. I mean quite literally two people died a day. And dont gt me started on the amount of vandalism, my buildings deteriorated in seconds.
You really are gonna make a guide on every version? This is the level of commitment I can only dream about.
Well I think 1.0 will be the last one for a while ^^
@@Ic0nGaming I've always really struggled with my economy and feeding my population early game. Thank you for the guides!

Thanks a lot man!
Just watched the 65 guide and it's already obsolete, here we go again
If it's any consolation, I was very surprised about how early v66 came out myself :D
Not a bad problem to have!
That what happens when the dev rebalances the economy every major patch 😆
Same here. Non-issue though, since buying this game i've injected it straight into my veins
Thank you for this series! I have failed at two attempts trying to learn, the basics make this work so much better!

A little note about isolation from testing; Its also how much noise leaks out of buildings that make noise.
Wandered in after seeing the thumbnail.
This game looks bloody amazing.

Me está ayudando a comenzar mi partida de verdad!
Thanks I just bought the game (after playing the demo for a while) and sorely needed some guidance lol

Thanks a lot for the series, I'm a complete beginner to the game and it's great to find an updated tutorial for people like me 😊

Late to the party, but YAY new Syx videos showcasing v66! I've been spending time on Clanfolk and Manor Lords, but Syx here I come back!
Very good guide. First part covers everything that is needed.
I too just finished the 0.65 guide but now I get to watch more starter tips. 👍
Thank you for being so fast
This was a great Tutorial! thanks
Brilliant video thanks. So helpful

I am doing something wrong? Anywhere i settle I get fertility around 60% tops. With few tiny patches of 80%, and 100% 5 squares off river water
Riding that Seth hype :)
any use of the initial road we have a the start of a map ?

Do i have to watch the v66 tutorial even though I already finished the v65 tutorial series?

Isn´t the bovine pasture better for havin leather? i´m new to the game in isolated area struggling with leather shortage

i should play and learn before asking stupid questions ^^
Thank you.
Also why do my livestocl keep dieing
I am whatching the 65 beta 😂
Could drop a hauler for the fish to the warehouse as well. But I guess extra warehouses aren't a bad idea.

@Ic0nGaming are haulers in v66 still just haul 1 specific resource?
@@justgoosing9662 Yes
Is it just me or is .66 bugged on exporting. I cannot export anything. Rest of the patch seems awesome.
really good voice, you could be a talented voice actor or something, nice tutorial btw
I'm open for any job offers! :D
there are no difference which type of house you building?
Not in the current version, no. But I don't expect it to stay this way tbh. But so far v66 seems to ride it like that, yeah.
Started a game in this version, 35 pop, couslnt get past it because people kept murdering eachother too much. I mean quite literally two people died a day. And dont gt me started on the amount of vandalism, my buildings deteriorated in seconds.
Seems like an interesting game
This game has yeartitle potential.
hmm its all i need to know , thanks alot , afail 2 times in the starting LMAO 🤣😂
I found 0.66 to be much harder in the begining !!
