  • Here is video of fixing my WEP 968DB+ soldering hotair station with fume extractor that lost air pressure by clog caused by flux fumes.
    I also show common places that clog while my couple years of use this station.

    HI! i appreciate much the video. Even though my problem was something else , you video at least got me to move in the right direction. My lack of air flow was due to a ruptured diaphragm. I will order a diaphragm as soon as I can find where I can purchase one online. In the mean time, I am using a piece of flashing tape used on new home construction. It's rubber and has the best and most durable adhesive I have ever come across. I have an hour on it so far, but still holding. I will order several of them and have spares on hang. I'm sure that I will need them in the future. Thanks again

    Thanks for this video, my YIHUA 968DB+ lost suction recently and it blockage was fixed by replacing the small carbon filter at the fume suction end. Also some flux had blocked up the hose a little bit. Now that air level ball it back on top! :)
    Without proper airflow, the hot air gun will literately burn! Mine was producing smoke and is now no longer silver. Looks like yours is also looking a bit burnt.
    Cheers!

    to anyone who might come across this video in the future - I was able to completely snake out the intake hose of my rework station with some PLA 3D printer filament after detaching the hose, which brought suction back to factory levels!

    I have the 852A++pro. My the ball bearing in my air gauge meter fluctuates erratically. Once it gets to the top, it drops to the bottom over and over again do you know what this could be?

    Anyone know where I can find the wiring electrical diagram for this model?
    My air flow adjustment is not adjusting and would like to know if internal components are correct

      Maybe check out the video "Aoyue 968A+ Repair" by grtyvr he shows how lots of the through hole solder joints are garbage on these units. I suspect that might be your problem as my aoyou 968a+ has the same problem as his and they share similar PCB's and design....

    I had the same loss pressure problem, I made all this steps without lucky... in the last moment before reassembly and close, I saw a little scratch in the plastic of the air barrel (the last part of the pump where the air hose go to the air pressure meter), in fact, wasn´t an scratch, was a split loosing a lot of pressure, I used a hot plastic to close the split and the pump start to work at 100% again. Maybe this can help someone.

    Great video, thanks for making it.
    I do have a question, how long do you have the 968db+ before the issues started?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  3 года назад +1

      Very long - but it's wrong question as it will very wary - how much do You solder, how much flux You use (that will make smoke) - so maybe for everyday service center will be every month - for me it was years.

    Are you recommending this stations?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  4 года назад +1

      For me most important feature was fumes extractor - if that's Your goal - then yes i recommend.
      If this is not the case, then look for soldering iron that have temperature sensor in tip (like Hakko T12) not like this in heating element You will get much better control. This technology is obsolete - but as i said i'm not replacing mine (still primary use) because i can't see anything better with fume extractor and good price range.

      @@auron19888 About 6-8 years ago, in 2015 I was replacing heating element:

      Not often, couple times per week - i'm not a pro - just hobbyist.

    Hi electronic! Thanks for your photo of videos and blogs. I need help with my soldering station. I hope you can help me. This soldering station is super. There is a problem though. After a few years the switches can be damaged internally and cause a fire. As in my case. Nothing serious. Except for the fact that in my case two components are burned. Two capacitors. One electrolytic and one second in polyester. I can't find the specs on the web. I leave below the link of your photo with the components that I have damaged. I hope in you. Thank you. Jonny.

      Sure,
      Electrolytic one is 16V 47uF
      film one is 400V104 ( 0.1UF 100NF 400V )

      @@ElectronicNoobBlog Really 1000 thanks for your help! Really! There is nothing on the web about this machine. Not even a service scheme. You have been very kind. The problem was caused by the hot air gun switch. And a 4-pin switch. I changed it to a better one of better quality. And several years now that I use this machine. But a similar problem is really annoying because of a switch. Thank you so much for your help. I subscribe to your channel. If you like, I offer you a coffee willingly for your help.

      @@ElectronicNoobBlog Certainly certainly. I am always ready to help those who ask me.! So we definitely don't have a wiring diagram for this model from what I understand. There are various schemes around but I don't see this machine. Then I noticed that several manufacturers make this model. Yours is a w.p. and mine is a Yihua. But they are the same internally.
