As an active man in his early 30's, I believe the fantasy is better than reality. Kate is a few pounds over skinny; and she wear a bodysuit to "smooth things out". Similarly The Queen had weight strips at the hem of her skirts to avoid the appearance of wrinkles. Also instant tailoring.
I feel sorry for Kate, because no perfect spouse will be allowed to outshine King William.

The weights in the hems are to prevent the dresses blowing up. We saw a lot when she descended the plane steps. Not that many would complain.
