That was pure luck after that race they installed an extra barrier in this corner forever... It was so shocking to see this live + it wouldve hit the GOAT Valentino Rossi (yellow 46 iconic)... it was so close man insane luck..

@@hauptfachhauptfach6202 that was Franco and he’s still riding now . He wasn’t as injured as you think to say he was doing 200 before he came off. I’ll have to find out exactly the injuries he got ,but he got really lucky.

Not really grosjeans car was split in half and blew up and was in fire for 22 seconds
@@MitchellC564 I think what they meant was the way the crash happened, with a driver cutting across the front of another car, and spearing off into the barrier. The only difference being is that Touring Cars have more surface area to punch the barrier with rather than a small nose to go through the barrier with, plus lower speeds and whatnot

I think to start the wall and to protect the officials behind it
Yeah, a lot of crashes could be helped with sensible barrier placement around circuits
If you slow the video down you can see there’s a Marshall’s post there so the tire wall is there to protect the marshalls from getting hit and to save the driver from smashing into a concrete barrier
2:15 my man just fully turned into him
The guy we're on board with turns into him as he runs out of track so that he doesn't get carried off to the left with the other car. He knows that as the other car hits his wheel, it'll propel it across his car and left like it did.
It definitely didn't help the situation but he was already out of room so he tried to save his own car from crashing but basically over corrected/anticipated the steering and put himself too far right and into the wall.

@@Driv3Gaming his wheel turns that hard cause his front right was hit on the back half which would force the wheel right. Driver was along for the ride
Nah, the driver of the cam-car didn't turn into him. The impact of the other car coming across and hitting his wheel is what turned the wheel, not the driver. He was just a passenger, as cbrunnem said. 👍
