Suitcase throwing competition statue killed me! 💀
We REALLY appreciate that the two of you roll with the punches and don't complain when hiccups happen, and don't complain & bash the cruise line, ports or whatever. Life happens❤
My home province. I was visiting the waterfront the same day you were. I saw your cruise ship. It would have been even greater to have run into you guys. ❤❤
Loved the beaver tail place. I talked my friends into stopping based on your 2018 vlog when we went in 2022. I got the brownie one, very messy but OMG so good. Love your videos..❤
I live in the neighborhood and the waterfront is pretty much my backyard 🙂 glad you enjoyed your time here
We always love a good day in Halifax! On our first visit in 2018, we did the Harbor Hopper tour, then puttered around and snacked on the waterfront. Our second visit in 2022, we rented a car and hit the Citadel and went out to Peggy's Cove. Then this last time, we obviously just had a wandering day, ha ha. Woohoo!! :D
I really love your choice of music that you put in your videos, very relaxing.
Jay's review of the cherry pie 😂. It has to be bad since you never really complain. Just looking at it, it seems like it's more pie filling than anything else, the crust looks very thin.
Love Halifax. Museums, Fort, gardens, Dartmouth Ferry. Walk the waterfront. In our 70s and made it all in 1 day. Whew. Time for a nap
I work the shuttle system in AK......shuttles are tough. glad the bus companies all jumped in. Halifax is on the list.
HI! had to see your perspective on Halifax. I live just out side of the area... the steps to the ocean, yeah, we don't know why they are there either.
That's awesome! I think we've vlogged the Halifax area maybe three times so far... we've done the Harbor Hopper, the Citadel, and even rented a car to drive out to Peggy's Cove!! :D
@@parodeejay Fantastic.. glad you have enjoyed our province! :) I really enjoy your videos - Love the positive perspective on things..
You know you're on the East Coast when you don't see or hear sea lions at the ports. West Coast is brimming full with them.
We were in Halifax and went to Peggy’s Cove! Have you ever been there??? Loved it
We have indeed!! :D ruclips.net/video/vJENaBq_nR4/видео.html
We love Canadians too! Nicest people overall that we have ever met! Look so forward to your vlogs!
Thanks for the video - we are on RV road trip and spending a few days around Halifax so appreciated seeing the harbour walk. Look forward to your Sydney one next 😊
As a canadian, I’m so excited to see this!
Pleasant way to start my morning!
Can't get anymore Canadian than eating a beaver tail and listening to Canada's best, Rush.
Loved Halifax and Canada
Can’t wait to cruise with you guys to Greenland.
Love ya'lls vlog.
Thank you… Great video… Yay we're getting in 13,000 steps that's awesome!!!
Was looking forward to Halifax vlog as I am from Nova Scotia .
Loved Halifax when we were there in 2017. For military history buffs like m husband the Naval Museum of Halifax, Shearwater Aviation. Museum and the Atlantic Canadian Aviation Museums were different things to do in the area
NCL seems to choose inconvenient docks. I personally believe they do this to discourage passengers from booking independent excursions.
Tough day in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I went there last fall, took the morning tour out to Peggy's Cove & the light house, and then spent the afternoon on the hop on hop off pink bus. It poured in the afternoon. I enjoyed every minute though, but the cold I caught....kept me down for a few days. Next time I will do the waterfront!
That area is like the port for Limon' Costa Rico. At least that's what it reminded me of.
💚 Jay straight up chanelling Mr Haney @ 2:36! lol!
They are probably too young to get that reference, but I did! 😂
@@tammy_oh_nevermind 🍷cheers to being middle aged & knowing crap other people don't
@@traciechakraborty3829 Sometimes enjoyable; sometimes alarming lol!
@@marjielalonde3875 I rather know than not know. prob why google and wiki are my fave reads.
That things that were painted with an octopus are called bollards. I had Tim horton's in Montreal, Beavertails in St John New Brunswick, and Cows in Charlottetown PEI. I was on a cruise and St John and Charlottetown were stops. Montreal was at the end of the cruise.
i remember Angelique from Breakaway cruise she is great
Me too! She was good!
We love some Tim Hortons
On my Prima cruise we were docked in that industrial port but there was some major problem assembling the gangway. IIRC we were delayed disembarking for well over an hour! Might have been two hours.
I just had a BLT egg bagel on Sunday!
Killaloe... is pronounced Kill - la - loo in Ireland... that's where the name comes from no doubt.
We Canadians used to call napkins serviettes. Most of us call Tim Hortons ‘Timmies’ as in I need a timmies to get my day started. Lots of folks like a ‘double double’ which is coffee with two creams and two sugars. It’s not what is used to be, sadly. Sold out to another corporation.
Hmm, maybe bring umbrellas next time and hike rain or shine? I think you've sold everyone on beavertails, as you keep picking them every visit. :)
So so sad about that cherry pie!
NCL seems to dock far from town. We were on NCL one year in St. Petersburg and the ship docked next to a homeless encampment. The traffic from ship to town was dreadful. 😂
Thanks for another great video! Dee, what shoes do you pack for all your walking? These look like water type shoes. Are they comfortable for all the walking you do? I’m looking for a walking type shoe that’s not bulky like sneakers. Thanks!
Typically either Merrells for more intense walking, but an easier walking day like this one would be Skechers GoWalk, a slip-on loafer style show that's treated us well!! :D
Question: First, excellent video series as always. If all was normal and you were at the normal pier, how long of a walk would it be to the Beaver Tails? Thank you!
From Pier 21/22, it's about 3/4 mile to the glory of the BeaverTails!! :D
Thank you so much for your fast reply. Does the Hop On Hop Off bus take you there as well?
It does, actually! That seems to be a good option.
Oh that’s wonderful news. Thank you very much! It’s all your fault that I am on a mission for a Beavertail. I’ve watched all your videos over the years and have taken so many notes on advice and things to see, do and places to eat.
Thank you so very much for all that you are doing for our cruising community. You are both truly wonderful people. My husband and I mainly cruise on Princess and I hope to meet you one day on a ship. Our next cruise is 16 days in August to Greenland on Caribbean Princess.
Very happy and safe sailing to you both!
Jay your pie was a cherry jelly pie.ha,ha.
When we were there last year, we had a guy playing the bagpipes!! And the spoon lady was there too! AND we did the Harbor Hopper tour too, when the driver entered the water he drove real fast, AND we got soaked, I could see him in his mirror and he was laughing really hard…lol so were we… 💦💦😳
10:13 - Pigeons ARE doves, FYI
The shuttle situation was a bummer. At least it wasnt scorching hot. I know my kids would be whining so just the adults would have to go to Canada.
If you dock in the industrial port, do they have handicap shuttle buses that will take you over to the other port?
They must! You weren't allowed to walk through the industrial area, so they'd be required to provide transportation that was suitable for all guests.
King of Donairs or Tony's in Halifax are much better if you want a real donair. Also Lequille pizza in Annapolis Royal (Nova Scotias original capital) has amazing donairs.
Great Video. What was the exchange rate like U.S/UK?
Looking at the rates today, 1 CAD is equivalent to 0.76 USD or 0.60 GBP.
@@parodeejay I'm hopeless at math so wich is the most expensive?
I guess that makes GBP the strongest currency, closely followed by USD, and CAD is the weakest of the three, unless I processed that incorrectly, ha ha... ~Jay
@@parodeejay Thanks Jay, Sorry i'm a bit dumb
If you have ever had Squab for dinner, then you have had Pigeon. Because Squab sounds better than Pigeon.
Rush Rules
I learned something new about Jay today, he doesn’t know how to ride a bike 😢wen yal come back to Hawaii we can rent bikes to ride around Hilo. Than u can say u learned in Hawaii! 🤙🏼
What month was this
As a Canadian I hate to think that people think Tim Hortons is representative of Canadian food. Its gross! But I know a lot of people like it.
Funny... same thing with Dunkin' Donuts or similar in the states... it's quick and easy, but you wouldn't necessarily call it good, ha ha... but we go there all the time!! :P ~Jay
Did I miss Part 1 and 2?
Apparently so! They exist!! :P
I will go hunting for them!
Found them-I was looking for the actual labels: #1, #2. Duh.
What is a beaver tail
We have bear claws
Very similar, from my understanding. Fried dough with toppings!! :D
@@parodeejay if I got video correct
Prima from Florida stops nova Scotia then Iceland
I am intrigued by Margaritaville cruise
Hear good cabin $500
No elevator is there option for better food
Can live with burgers pizza
That cherry pie did not look good, and I like cherry pie. I enjoy your videos.
pigeons have lice
7:15 - Just a little local tip, tourists mispronounce "donairs". The first syllable isn't pronounced like the man's name, "Don", it's pronounced like the first syllable of "donate", with a long "O", or the name of a female deer. "DOH-nair", not "DON-air". It's okay, we know what you mean and we love tourists, but if you find yourself in Halifax again, you can sound like a local if you want LOL
11:32 - much much closer here and at 12:30. Still sounding a little too close to "done-air" instead of "dough-nair" but I think I spoke too soon earlier, you'll pass as a Bluenoser any day
12:51 - You NAIL it here man, that's it!
Hey Jay, the "rope mooring thingamajiggy's" are called bollards. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bollard
Also, for the "donair", it is the sauce that differentiates from the "gyro" (pronounced, hero, with a rolling r) basically, for the sauce, 1 can, sweetened condensed milk, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 cup white vinegar, mixed in slowly. This paired with the spicy beef, makes for an amazing savory dish. The spicy donair beef is made with just ground beef with the spices. A traditional gyro is made with beef, lamb, and spices. Many youtube videos show how to make donairs at home.
