Hi, it's 5am and 2024 where I am now. I just wanted to let you know your channel is definitely one of my most favorite things I found last year. Happy New Year, keep doing what you do.
I worked for a Gamecrazy as a GM (eventually), and amassed an insane collection. That was after being a huge Saturn and import enthusiast, and getting my NES in 85. I had almost everything I wanted outside of a Vectrex display. ...yeah, my wife at the time sold it all for $100 when I was deployed in the Army. EX wife. It actually messed me up for a while. I didn't want to collect anymore. I got back into collecting with the Switch. It didn't feel as special at first...until I got kids. Now, it's great knowing I can share it with them.
The rotating shelve is really cool matt. Might be my first time seeing something like that in someone's home. Pretty slick & your collection is amazing matty.
Man, what you said about “Xbox One having the games” early on compared to the PS4 was so true to me at the time. Dead Rising 3, D4, and the Killer Instinct reboot all made me say “I NEED to get an Xbone”. There wasn’t much like that on the PS4 that enticed me at the time. After that things started going more downhill while PS4 got a ton of games.
Yeah people forget that for the first 2-3 years, the Xbox One had a bunch of killer exclusives, more so than the PS4 really. Stuff like Killer Instinct, Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Ryse: Son of Rome, Sunset Overdrive, Ori and the Blind Forest, D4: Dead Dreams Don't Die, Quantum Break, Rare Replay, Crimson Dragon (not a bad game), Forza Horizon 2/3, Forza Motorsport 5, Gears of War 4, etc. It wasn't until 2016 when Uncharted 4 released really that the PS4 really started to fire on all cylinders when it came to exclusives and Xbox One exclusives but the dust.
You hit the GameCube section and just NAILED me with two of my favorite childhood games. Scooby Doo: Night of 100 frights was awesome though I remember never being able to beat it. But when you dug out the Disney Xtreme Skate I couldn't believe it. I remember renting that game MULTIPLE times and absolutely loving it but never purchasing it. As I re-build my orginal xbox collection, both of those have become must haves that I haven't been able to find yet.
13:10 Resistance Collection is just a bundle of the games so there's not too much point in having the set besides collection's sake. Cool to see the collection!
I am jealous, my Ma got me to throw out most my covers of games as she wanted less stuff to squeeze into moving boxes whenever we'd move around. A lot of games I loved ended up lost like my Nintendo 64 which was my first console before Playstation. 😅Noice collection btw. 💯 Some of my first games I completed were the series of Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper. Kingdom Hearts. Games like these helped me through tough times.
@@FeiFongWang Yeah, my Ma did that also, she was quite strict when I was a kid. All my Yugioh and Pokemon stuff were called demons and covered in marker, and she threw them in the bins despite me pleading.

Jade Empire is a game that doesn’t get enough love. I got lucky and found a copy of it at a local retro game shop in the summer of 2020 new in the wrapper for $8. Best $8 I’ve ever spent. Also, opening up a brand new original Xbox game in 2020 is an experience I wish I could have again.
Great content as always, Matty. I just have 2 questions for you - 1) Where does one go about procuring one of those rotating towers 2) Can you please do a video on Uzumaki Chronicles?
That Scooby-Doo on GameCube has a major bug where it won't play on Silver GameCubes. Literally just silver-colored Cubes. Wii, Black Cube, Purple Cube, works. Silver, try to boot, black screen every time. Of course my GameCube is silver, so when I upgraded my PS2 copy to a GameCube copy, I ended up buying a Wii. Went through buying a few copies of that game before realizing it was the system itself and not the disc.
I cannot express in words how jealous I am of your Trails collection… It’s, like, crying tears of blood jealousy. Also, Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights is a certified banger. It’s THE hidden gem game I played as a kid. Wish I still had it
My collection is pushing 8k right now, and I'm not making content. What the hell am I doing with my life. Your channel is so much fun and is enjoyed by so many people. I wish that I was creative enough to have started a RUclips channel. I would have loved to collaborate with you one day.
I disagree. Maybe some of the PS2 one's, but everything newer is worthless. Those disc's have incomplete games on them that require internet connections and updates. PS2 and older is true retro gaming where the prices go up. PS3 and newer is modern gaming where the prices only go down. Oh, but Matty's setup is cool.
@@williamcarswell3012 yes, that is correct. It is okay to be wrong. And newer games will not have the kind of price swings that older games do. That's a fact that you can disagree with if you choose to be wrong. Not too many games PS3 and newer valued over $100 unless they are special releases. They go down in price after release and rarely ever go back up.

Get the complete edition on ps4 because its cheaper comes with all dlc and has a free upgrade to ps5 format if you care about graphics and faster load times its an all rounder
You have inspired me to finally go hunting for the PS3 collections and start my PS3 collection in general lol. I have always been an Xbox guy, so any cross platform games i always get on the Xbox. Because more often than not, for every generation, the Xbox version looks and runs better, most of the time. So all i have collected from Sony are the exclusives.
Sounds about right. How are they going to make any money if they paid you fairly for crap you want to get off your hands? Go read about how pawn shops work, and sell your crap on the individual market.
Cool collection, reminds me of my old setup. I had rows of nes, snes, GameCube, Dreamcast and ps1 games, which I sold to pay rent. I do collect for Wii, switch, PlayStation 3-4-5, and Xbox one (and 360 that will play on my one s) in my house I had two full rooms of games, then my wife and I both lost our jobs, ditched the house, and sold the games to survive, until we started working. That was 10 years ago. I was gonna collect all the ps5 games, but a lot are not great. My switch is mostly Mario and donkey Kong. May get Lies Of P when price goes down. Where are your cartridge games.
Great collection Matty! Definitely need some more ratchet and clank 😉 Also i havent seen or thought of using a spinning shelf, makes a lot of sense! Are those more recent shelves? Would love to get some for my collection
We played so much local multiplayer on Star Fox Assault growing up. I remember all my friends with Xbox and PlayStation were surprised with how much fun it was.
The only reason I have a big video game collection like this is because I never got rid of my childhood games and I started to collect games in large quantities over 15 years ago when prices were affordable. It is really hard to collect these days unless you have a ton of money you can afford to spend on video games. Prices are way too high these days to easily build a collection like this.
It is easier to buy all the games than it is to play all the games. The OG speed runners are people who only owned one game. Take it from someone who has collected far too much. Damn you, Matty! After your video I had to go buy azure strikers gun volt! Loved your collection, dude. I too played every minute of lost odyssey and loved it.
I need to inventory my video game collection. I am estimating I have over 4000 games. My insurance company recommends I do a complete inventory of my video game, comic book, and action figure collections and upgrade my renters insurance to a collectors insurance policy, as my renters insurance won't cover much if I lost my entire collection to a disaster. A friend of mine lost his 30+ years of collecting to a house fire last year and lost everything. That is one of my greatest fears.
If you're considering recommendations, Matty, I would suggest Tenchu Stealth Assassins for PS1, The Bouncer for PS2, and Resonance of Fate for PS3/Xbox360. I spent an ungodly amount of time on these games back in the day.
As far as having a physical copy even if the game gets digitized, is do you have every game downloaded and ready to go right now? What if you lose wifi or the servers crash or something? That digital is gone or unavailabe for a time. That disc aint going anywhere, or at least it shouldnt. If an apocalypse happens especially. Those discs will be worth more than gold
Matty please make a Mega Man Legends 1-2 & The Misadventures of Tron Bonne video 🙏 Great collection, you have influenced my ever growing physical collection 😂
Matty it was so nice to hear you say "Most ppl hated ff13, but NOT ME" 13 series in my opinion is some of the best games in the ff series along with 7, 10 and 12, alot of the music in 13 is some of my fav game music of all time. I enjoyed the combat system, and throughout the series the characters grew on me, 13-2 and lightning returns are my fav out of all the 3 though.
Great collection! I still recommend DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 1 cuz of the PS2 memory card perks you get for playing 2 & 3 afterwards. The spines is so funny to me because it’s definitely a region thing. In the 🇬🇧 the PS2 spines were plain white with black text, and with the PS2 being my favourite system, I don’t mind the uniform, one colour spines for a system. The one thing I hate about the PS2 🇺🇸 spines is that the Playstation logo in the top corner having a random white square background where 🇬🇧 spines make way more sense having the Playstation logo with a black background.
Retro rebound, consider The Bouncer for your PS2 collection. Square Enix style visuals in a brawler game that scratches a similar itch as the brawler PS2 game (Urban Rain) you featured in this video.
You showed a lot of awesome stuff in this video but I didn't know Fighterz had a steelbook. It's actually my favorite fighting game of all time so you know I immediately jumped on eBay and found me a full in box copy with steelbook.
Thanks. Happy new year! I don't understand why people say physical collecting takes too much space. I have around 50 discs and it barely takes any space. 50 might be too much for me, but not in terms of physical space, i just barely have time to play them. And if you compare them to board games they doesn't take any space at all) Seriously, man. Review Star Wars Rebellion and Twilight Imperium.
I know youre rarely bored 🔥🔥🔥💥🏌♂️😌 i have a ps2, ps4, ps5, 360, switch, definitely thankful for the gems each of my systems have, im getting a series x soon too cause stalker 2 is a must that i play
It's funny how you brought up Spider-Man's cutscenes because I grew up with the PS1 and I did not like the way the N64 did it but up until the PS4 Spider-Man game came out it was still my all-time favorite Spider-Man me and my cousin beat that game like 20 times growing up so much fun
Scooby Doo Cyber Chase is great on the ps1 please go back and give it a shot i remember playing it when i was like 4 or 5 and might be a little biased but played it this year still was fun as a crash bandicoot adjacent game.
I don’t think your PS5 was chewing up your discs. My copy of Neo TWEWY looked exactly the same but I played on PS4. So I think some discs might just be defective
If you need a hidden gem PS1 game it’s Skullmonkeys. It’s a claymation side scroller and it’s one of my favorite games of all time. It’s extremely unique and there’s really nothing like it
You can only play expanded Star Wars Battlefront II if you had Xbox Live back in the day and made that purchase. $5 for four levels and 2 characters..... DLC used to be priced fairly.... The Yavin base in SW:KOTOR was also $5.
@@MrAjking808 agree to disagree. I will present Borderlands 3 as my example. Upon release there were 3 versions of the game available to buy off the shelf. $60 regular game, $90 Deluxe edition, $120 Super Deluxe edition. What was the difference? So the SDE came with the DE bonuses and the season pass, which cost $50 through the online store. So, Deluxe and Super Deluxe were both rip offs. Then the game added more DLC beyond that to punish their loyal fan base with more wealth extraction. What even is that Science of Borderlands thing? Is it a real world Spy network? Because it seems like a real world spy network.... You argue that things were easier in the PS2 era. Yes. By today's standards. So that argument is moot. Game companies are incredibly greedy. You think spending $5 to change the color of your characters shirt is a fair price? Get real, buddy. It is greed.
Matty you have to replay Drakengard 1. You said it was before Yoko Taro did crazy stuff, but it's the craziest of all imo. You clearly didn't pick up a lot of the story, which is understandable because you were a kid, but there's some absolutely wild stuff in there like your party consisting of a cannibal, a pedo, and dragon f****er. I'd love to see you do some videos on Drakengard and Nier on this channel (I know you did a spoilercast with Dustin and an Automata review, but still!).

Happy New Year, Mr. S. Thanks for the outstanding coverage.
Very entertaining and informing! Happy x-mas and New year from Norway! Tip: have your videogames standing from a to z!
Can't believe you don't have GTA Chinatown Wars!!! One of the best GTAs EVER!!!
My ps4/ps5 collection is out of control. And growing. But I love it.
I never thought to use a rotating tower to store games. Nice towers
Matty it was so nice to hear you say "Most ppl hated ff13, but NOT ME"
13 series in my opinion is some of the best games in the ff series along with 7, 10 and 12, alot of the music in 13 is some of my fav game music of all time.
Saw spectrobes on the DS. Loved that game as a kid! you should do a video on it and the Wii game one day!
Link to the rotating tower? It’s EXACTLY what I’m looking for to fit my collection.
W Game collection!
Can you let us know where the spinning dvd/game tower is from that seems like a great space solution
Retro rebound, consider The Bouncer for your PS2 collection.
Square Enix style visuals in a brawler game that scratches a similar itch as the brawler PS2 game (Urban Rain) you featured in this video.
Video game collection > bit coin.
You showed a lot of awesome stuff in this video but I didn't know Fighterz had a steelbook. It's actually my favorite fighting game of all time so you know I immediately jumped on eBay and found me a full in box copy with steelbook.
Dude where did you find that shelf that is awesome?
I saw you had Nickelodeon Party Blast! So underrated. Had it on PC as a kid!
MechAssault 1 and 2 on the original Xbox were great, a reboot of those two and Crimson Skies would be awesome.
lets go bro 🙏
Thanks. Happy new year!
I don't understand why people say physical collecting takes too much space. I have around 50 discs and it barely takes any space. 50 might be too much for me, but not in terms of physical space, i just barely have time to play them. And if you compare them to board games they doesn't take any space at all)
Seriously, man.
Where’d u get ur rotating gaming shelf
Scooby Doo Cyber Chase is great on the ps1 please go back and give it a shot i remember playing it when i was like 4 or 5 and might be a little biased but played it this year still was fun as a crash bandicoot adjacent game.
great variety here im all about that
I don’t think your PS5 was chewing up your discs.
It is priced fairly lol .. we’re not in the ps2 era where everything was easier to make
@@MrAjking808 agree to disagree.
Thanks for being so honest (as you always are) about your process. Best of luck in the new year with your channels and your game.
Just catching up on stuff I missed. Very nice collection.
Love these kinds of videos 🤓
