My PlayStation 5 Physical Games Collection So Far (80+ Games and Total Value)

- It’s time to do something I’ve never done before. Spend way too much time talking about physical video games. PlayStation 5 is about half way through its lifecycle and despite the misconceptions, I’ve already amassed a sizable amount of games. All printed on those spicy Ultra HD Blu-rays. So let’s take a tour through what I’ve bought so far, and have a casual talk about these games and this console cycle thus far. There might even be a rant or two sprinkled into this conversation. And thats what gives the whole thing that little extra BAM. Delicious and nutritious.

Gamestop be like "How does 10 dollars worth in store credit sound?"
Lol. That company is a failure
I know this is a joke but you'd be surprised to know I just got Madden 24 for $48 of trade in credit this last weekend. $33 standard pro credit plus they have a deal with 50% extra credit for ps5 games. So I traded it in toward FFVII Rebirth and only paid about $25. Especially since Madden will be worthless in a couple of months.
i work at gamestop this is true cash is the scam in store credit is ok some times. a guy came in a trades in two ps5 and and got 760 in store credit@@richardbaseball2006
And that is just for the console itself
@@richardbaseball2006 Its those trade in deals that you describe that people should be taking advantage of. I know its a meme that Gamestop gives you pennies for everything but there are select times when they give highly competitive prices for things. When big new releases come out they will usually offer significant extra percentages if you trade towards that new release. When new consoles come out they typically offer something like 50% off the price if you trade in the previous console. And during holidays they tend to offer higher trade in values. If you go in on some random day of the week to try and trade in your backlog you'll probably get ripped off, but if you just wait to trade your stuff in during certain windows you'll often get a better deal than if you were to sell them on ebay.
I would LOVE if you did this for your other systems as well (at least the ones were the collection is big enough). Just a long ramble style video like this one.
That would be a three hour video haha.
PS3 please 🙏
I started collecting games because of Mystic, 2 years ago, after owning 0 physical games. Haven't looked back. Thanks for these vids, brotha.
Part of the problem
I did it because of Scott the Woz xD
I love every collection video.
What problem exactly??@@KryMoore
@@Kazifu_Gaming Overpriced games because someone saw a RUclips video.
@@KryMoore what are you on about? Games are more expensive digitally
22:20 you said this so well. You should make this into a short and people should share it everywhere. This is the most important aspect of physical media right now. Forget about archiving, forget about collectibility. The ability to resell your copy to recoup the cost simply isn’t an option (nor is it ever likely to be) with digital store fronts.
Amazing collection too BTW. You are easily the best resource for PlayStation on RUclips by far.
1:25 Another aspect that is even more ignored is renting. Around this point in the video, Mystic shows off Alan Wake 1. Alan Wake 2 is digital only. If you buy Alan Wake 2 and don't like it, then guess what, you can't return it because you played it. GameFly is still around and is the last bastion left for game rentals. If it weren't for GameFly, I would never have purchased games like Scarlet Nexus. I got to try games that I was cautious about because they are outside of my normal genre, and it was also a great way to try out many PS5 games back when I first got it.
@@dapperfan44 Good point. The lack of physical straight up eliminates the possibility of a trial or rental market.
Though I didnt see this vid until about 12 hours after it posted you beat me to the time stamp. Yeah he nails it with physical. There is so much more versatility in a physical purchase and I will always advocate for that. Imagine spending near $2600 like the total value is at by the end of this video and going...well, after all my digital purchases I have $0 worth of games. I value my money too much to do that. Some digital is ok but a digital only gamer is getting stomped financially.
@@MegatechBody It really does, and it's sad that so many people don't see this. I was devastated when Red Box stopped loaning out games.
That's a dope collection of PS5 games
Physical media for the win
Indeed.
Nice subscription feed btw got some good taste.
Less exclusives than the Virtual Boy.

It's depressing looking at the PS3 library compared to the PS5 library. We really didn't realize how we good we had it during the PS3 era.
PS5 is barely 3 years old. How can you compare, when all those same developers are still cookin? PS5 will get PS6 games til 2030
@@Alien_isolationist 2006-2009 was when Sony was already breaking into its second wind and golden years with Uncharted 2 and overall PS3 rebranding. Now, Sony is already saying PS5 sales have peaked and we are in the latter years of decline for the hardware generation, and admitting openly that 2024 will be barren from their end. It's night and day difference, dude, and it's actually worse the more you add the additional context, not better
Too true! Not only more first party games by three years in, but more experimental too.
even 3 years later I don't see the ps5 games passing the library of ps3 and especially ps4 library!@solationist ps3 & ps4 >>>>>> ps5
@@jjtheman523 yes, the pandemic put things on hold, plus games take longer with more intensive graphics, these things are true, but just because you don't see it doesn't mean I don't. PS5 will outsell PS4 easily, & likely even PS2....& I believe 2025 we will see a myriad of new games that have been in development by numerous publishers. Until then, im looking forward to FF7, Stellar Blade & Silent Hill, & Outlaws.
I also have around 80 PS5 physical games, many more are JRPGs and such but I really enjoy seeing videos like this. I cant imagine having 80 all digital titles and then being forced to realize that all that money I spent is a sunk cost I can never get back no matter what I do. Physical gives you choices and great value. It may not work for everyones lifestyle but it should be a consideration when you want to get a game.
When you were speaking about the small bits you do during the 30 Plats in 30 Days videos, they are some of my favorite parts of those videos, it shows more personality from you and shows just how creative you can get with an already creative idea like 30 plats. Keep those up, love all the content!
I love to see these kinds of collection update videos Ryan. Would love to see more collection/conversation based videos exactly like this one in the future. Keep them uploads coming bro!
WOW, horrible RUclips zoom mechanics aside, it seems like each row is 25 games, and he has 4.
Therefore I’m positive that Ryan’s Physical PS5 collection is bigger than my digital collection.

Guess what Imma be watching with my dinner 😤👌
That’s a lot of games bro

Ryan I really enjoyed your video last year and this year I enjoyed this count and market value of your sweet collection! I don't have the biggest PS5 collection yet having my PS5 over a year, but I do own some of the hottest titles that you have in your collection that makes me feel good. I seriously love your advocacy for physical media and am totally with you about that. You just can't beat being able to hold great titles in your hands!
Bro has my dream life.
I also prefer physical but sometimes digital gets better prices or just not finding it in stores.
That and having a huge library with bookshelves packed with collectables is my dream.
Stop supporting the d3ath of physical media & live your dream. Just say no to digital, & wait for a sale...
@@Alien_isolationist no I still prefer physical, but I'm not gonna waste money if the digital is cheaper by a lot.
I buy most my ps5 games physical if it's the same price as digital or cheaper (basically 95% of my collection), to me price is a huge factor as I don't have money to afford the more expensive prices
@@azrael_morningstarCommon Sense👍🏾

lets hope its not the end of Physical Games
If it is then time to start collecting backwards again
push back for the gaming community is zero to none,
It baffles me that a huge portion of the commuinty is advocating for death of physical media.
The same case that was with paid online multiplayer, there was no push back look at what we got today.
Road 96 is freakin sick. Highly underrated! Awesome collection dude.
This was an awesome watch. Great collection!
I have 92 physical PS5 games myself, trying to slow down so I can play them haha
You are committing a moral sin not playing the Royal content for persona 5, by far the best arc and in my opinion the best story ever told in any game period
Loving this video Ryan. Thank you for sharing your awesome collection with us!
Enjoy listening and watching. Keep up the good work.
When you play Elden Ring, we want a full playthrough playlist, please.
Man your collection is vast love these kind of videos also the unboxing your game mail videos are awesome.
I'm glad you talked about loving Bugsnax. I also love that game that came. It has a lot of heart, surprisingly deep, and great characters.
My rule for collecting physical is it has to have either inserts, some sort of special packaging, or a game I really think I'll love otherwise I'm just gonna get the digital. But 85% of my collection is physical😅
Me watching this with a 60+ long backlog to find new games to add to the backlog:
Hmmm interesting 🤔 *takes notes*
EDIT: Oh well. Ordered Fort Solis, Coffee Talk 1 + 2, Prince of Persia: The lost crown and Venba 🫠
😂 with my little note pad and pen IN REAL LIFE
I even collect old school
@@FawstAdventures 10 minutes in and already out Coffee Talk 1+2 onto my list. Seem like great fun and art style, with a easy platinum as well
Only 60 games? Pff. I have like over 300+ games that I have in my backlog which I will never finish.

It's a shame Alan Wake 2 doesn't have a physical
And I wont buy it, despite the games quality, until it does.
I can't pay $70 to licence a game. I just can't bring myself to do it lol. $20-25 is my limit for digital copies.
@@falscherkim3033 same here, had it had a physical I would of bought it day one! I won't buy it out of principle.
@@PowderedVoltage This is just the only correct way to go. I will eventualy play Alan Wake II, for sure, maybe full price if we ever get a physical edition (hoping for a retail one and not a limited print bullshit, though) or maybe at 20 bucks when it will come in sale in a year from now. It's up to them about how much money do they want to make from me and many, many others I know they are waiting for a physical release.
The game still haven't make profit btw at the time I'm writing this, even with all those GOTY nominations and awards so
Sure will get a goty edition physical release after all of the dlc is out.
The Pathless is one of my favorite PS5 games, would be great for a Platinum challenge
Great collection! I've started collecting physical games during the pandemic and now owning 320+ games. I think I'm having an addiction.
It’s actually kinda crazy I was just lookin at these types of video man great as always dude keep it up

i have been waiting for this moment for so long and now it's here! Ryan, you're the best! I hope you keep doing this for other consoles. ❤❤❤
This style of videos is my favorite and I could listen you talk about games for hours man. Please do one for PS3 at least!
Always enjoy these type of videos on your channel! and 10/10 shirt btw
Your game collections is my dream. Wish I have a room just to store physical games like you do.
Love your channel Ryan! Love your content!
GREAT point about physical media having value over digital media. I find myself defending that very point quite often. Very well put!
I know it might be a hassle but I would love to see this for every one of your collections!
I love these types of videos! Would totally love to have a deep dive of your other systems
Very nice collection I’m chasing you down with just over 50 lol
I currently have 305 physical PS5 games. I played 46 out of those and completed (platinum or 100%) 30 of those. I'm going for full set/full platinum, but I will need some space to be honest hahaha. Nice collection!
Damn now thats some serious commitment. Much respect!
Amazing collection! Keep it growing
Long live to the physical. :)
I tried DESPERATELY to get last of us 1, and 2 special edition. But they don’t send to my country. And seeing it gives a TUG at my heartstrings. Loving the collection!
I love how Ryan said Final Fantasy 16 was his favourite PS5 game. Clearly forgot about his love for Returnal for a second.
Incredible collection, Ryan! Keep it up! We would love more collection videos mixed in there
Nice collection
Soul Hackers 2 is underrated. I'm normally not a big RPG guy and I was hooked. The music is top notch.
Love you Mystic!!
When a CE just comes with a steel book, I usually just get a case only on ebay for 10 bucks and put my disk in it for the shelf.
Most of my recent CEs didn’t come with a disc at all, but it still had the steelbook. Sound logic.
A 44 minute Tuesday upload? Okay! ❤️
There are a lot of options out there still this generation because I own about 60 physical games for ps5 and only about a dozen are the same as what Mystic has. Nice update, man!
I only found out about “Does it Play” in the last month and seriously had no clue that so many games were shipping as in as good of shape as they are.
I've only just started y physical collection I've got over 200 games for my ps5 in digital im just starting my physical collection I've got suicide squad and jedi survivor only 2 physical games I've got wish I bought helldivers and ff7 rebirth physical but I preordered ff7 rebirth months ago and helldivers was a drunken bordem purchase which I'm actually happy about lol
So awesome that you did this mystic. I really like collection videos. Showing off the physical games 😊. My big collection is the switch. I have 224 games and it is still growing. Gylt is a good one to have for ps5. It got a pegi physical release. It recently got confirmed for switch and physical also. Very excited. I believe it was once a stadia exclusive game. I have the shantae games on ps5 also. Shantae advanced risky revolution is the next one. It's getting a physical gba release but it is also coming to switch and ps5.
I want Gylt but my ocd can't have a non NTSC release in my collection. I hope they release a NA version of Gylt on switch even though currently I dont see one...
@@joeyisabsb1 I believe it's only a pegi release. I understand. All gamers are different. I'm getting it for switch for sure. It's always awesome to get a new physical game.
I’d love to see this for other consoles. I enjoy this type of content so much and love seeing others collection. It also helps me find things to add to my personal collection.
If you want to know, the Shantae series order is:
Shantae
Shantae: Risky's Revenge
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
Shantae: Half Genie Hero
Shantae and the Seven Sirens
Also, there is an originally cancelled, now being fully developed, game in the series that is also coming out on a bunch of platforms, called Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, which takes place in between the first two games.
It is coming out on GBA, as well as PS5 and Switch, later this year.
Now we need a collection video for every console and handheld!
I'd love to see your other collections. Always interesting to see what games people own
As a movie collector I love slipcovers, steelbooks, box sets etc and I wish game publishers would do them more often
Lovely stuff! I speak on behalf of everyone in the comments when I say we need this for every other platform 😅
Keep up the good work. I love your videos. They are awesome.❤
WE ENJOY IT and we want it for every playstation system!
I honestly dont want to see the day that youre selling all of it, such a beautiful collection
Thats DOPE ps5 collection 🔥 thanks homie for inspiring me to collection since im a big playstation fan
Actually got my alan wake9(ps5) copy for $20 last year.. crazy how it went up in price
I'm not so into the Sony PlayStation 5 first party games that much but the 3rd party games are amazing. Tekken 8, The King of Fighters 15 and more. Wonderful PlayStation collection. I hope you do retro game collections covering PS1, Nintendo GameBoy and more. Cool video. ^_^
I used to collect physical games but nowadays i have been unintentionally drifting away from it espeically since ps4 generation...i had been collecting lots of physical ps4 games but then again i would also purchase tons of digital games on psn when they went on sale. So i would come home tired from work and turned on my ps4 usually and then i would browse in the library what games i could play...all digital and physical games get lumped together in the library and at first i didnt care i would have to go fetch my discs from the other room to put in my ps4 to play the games but slowly over the years i got tired of the process and i started to dread that dreaded disc icon beside the game and i would skip that game and play some another digital game that didnt require me to get up and get the discs from another room especially not when i was really tired from work...so after i got ps5, i went all digital because well its convenient and i hate it when the physical games take just as much space as digital games on hard drive and you still have to insert discs to play them. Also ps5 makes a loud noise periodically when playing physical games...so now i have a grand total of 2 physical ps5 games and i only bought them because gamestop was selling them for 5 dollars each and i wanted to see what physical ps5 games looked like and spoiler alert, they are boring..those two games were callisto protocol and scarlet nexus. Yeah i like physical games but i think i prefer digital games now...also its not fun collecting games for these modern systems anymore with no manuals...flimsy plastic cases and discs that probably require 50 gb plus patch to download as soon as you insert them.
that last part you wrote is complete misinformation. Mystic went out of his way to include at the end of a video a source (doesitplay) that completely debunks what you just said and proves that games come complete on disc and dont even require patches to be perfectly playable, and you still wrote this. good riddance.
Know you've said you're not big on Dirt games but DiRT2 is legit one of the best games of its gen.
I thought DiRT 5 was also fantastic and quite underrated
@@briantreanor960I loved the Playgrounds mode in Dirt 5. User generated levels just make games better
I'd love to see the other collections!
A question about discs: is it normal for them to come out of the PS5 very warm? Not quite enough to burn my hand, but almost.
My disc's tend to run pretty warm when I take them out too! Not sure why, I take mine apart and clean it once a month and take good care of it but it still keeps them warm.
No Way I was just watching your mystery games unboxing videos!!
Physical media is getting really annoying to collect, “limited prints” or not getting a physical copy at all. I’m over it.
Or only getting physical in certain regions. Who'd ever think the British Empire colonizing what is now modern-day Singapore in 1819 is the only reason why some of these games have English physical releases.
yes but that also means some games are worth more than others and it's cool if you own a game worth some decent money
@@Chelaximinteresting, how come ?

Thx for the shoutout, m8!
Beautiful collection! Lol, dude.. I still have games in the shrink wrap/plastic for PS3 too. I wish I had room for a physical collection these days. Majority of my PS4 games are digital. All my PS5 games are digital until FFVII: Rebirth drops.
Going to have to check this out for game ideas 🙏
Impressive collection. Love Hades as well.
I’d like to see your entire switch collection
Im relatively new to PS5 and i've found it super beneficial to check if a game has a PS4-PS5 upgrade. Since christmas i've brought maybe 8-9 new games as a PS4 edition and saved £15-£30 per game depending on the title. Only own 1 PS5 disk of my 30-35 PS disk collection. Got maybe 30-40 games on my radar to tick off across the next 2-3 years (100% every game) which should be fun and interesting
Ordering my ps5 next month so excited
Mystic, I just want to let you know that while the story for returnal is technically “up to interpretation”, if you piece together all the clues throughout the whole game and do a little research, they make it pretty easy to tell what the whole story actually is
That’s one FANTASTIC PS5 Collection Bro! 😃 ✌️ AWESOME!!!
I preordered baldur's gate 3, too. That $20 for shipping caught me off guard. I guest it makes since tho, maybe considering where it's got to come from.
I have 20 so far my guy! Nice collection!
Awesome physical collection 😎. I don’t have any physical games in my library. I do however have close to 3000 games on digital.
I would really enjoy watching a longform video or a series of you getting Platinum for Elden Ring
Great but how many have you played and finished 😂😅 love your channel!
Loved this video, can you do another PS4 one?
Hopefully there is a disk drive in the next one. Been a long time struggle for me to get myself to only buy what I want to play when I want to play it, and watching these kind of videos don’t help, I have like 50 or more sealed games that were on the I will eventually want to play list. Out of a little over 1000 games that is like 5 percent of my collection just sitting there.
I got my PS5 (optical drive) day one and so far have purchased four, count 'em, FOUR games for the system (not including a handful of PS4 games I missed out on last gen).
I thank a combination of Sony for essentially releasing almost nothing worth playing so far this gen and Microsoft for making Game Pass so compelling - thanks guys.
If you decide to showcase your game collections for your other consoles, you can make them a multi-part series.
For example, you can show off 30-40 video games in one video. Then do part two, etc.
Persona 5 and Horizon were the reason I got my ps4.
I played a lot back then, but the game is really long, so I didnt finished.
A few years later, I came back to it, finished, fell in love again, bought Royal and made the platinum.
I agree with the sub thing bringing down the price of sealed games in 10 20 or even 30 years but, emulators have existed for a while and older games are still ridiculously priced for even cosmetically destroyed games.
On the other hand way more of these things are being printed now too, only time will tell.
I was staying on top of Limited Run until about a year ago, had some personal stuff going on but sitting on 173 physical ps5 games
Will try and catch up now, solid collection though
Amazing.... please please please do this for ps4/ps3... I could watch these all day
Ryan, me and you are the same, I buy games when they first come out or on sale and keep them sealed until I play them.
This video made me check my ps5 games. I didn’t realize I was close to 200 games and like Ryan, I have many sealed, not on purpose just a thing called life takes over 😔 one day I’ll just open them
Crazy to see how different the value of certain games is, depending on the country you live in. In Germany Alan Wake is literally worth 5 and you can get it new in ever store for 15 or even 10 if its on sale.
Another certified Mystic classic 💯
Gran Turismo 7 can be played offline, but you are limited to just playing music rally. However, Polyphony updated Gran Turismo Sport to have to have an offline saving just a couple of weeks ago when the servers shut down for the game. So offline play for the game is subject to change.
Hopefully when GT7 shutters, we aren't just left with music rally. I don't know what's left with GT Sport, but I heard that game was pretty much entirely structured around multiplayer
Wild how many of these you can still buy on PS4. Has the generation even started?
PS4 might as well be the ever-console, considering stuff is still being designed usually with that spec in mind, as well as Xbox Series S, Switch, and Steam Deck. Very few games actually need that power, certainly not retro re-releases or 2D indie games. With that peak install base, I don't see much need to drop it unless you really have to.
Plenty of impressive cross-gen games like Armored Core 6, Exoprimal, Guardians of the Galaxy, Tales of Arise, Resident Evil 4 and Village, Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasty XIV: Dawntrail, Lies of P, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon 2, God of War Ragnarok... can go on and on
