Thank you for sharing your process with us. The bowl turned out beautiful. I haven't done any ceramics in a long time, and watching you work makes me eager to pick it back up again.
Thank you for sharing! I love your pot and the filming of its creation. I am in awe of your skill in using slip on the leather hard pot, keeping the shape of the vessel intact.
It's a brilliant idea of using a few strands of hand broom to create the pattern and the bowl looks gorgeous. Any chance you can share the dimension of the bowl, please? Thanks!
Hello from Iwate. Thank you for sharing your skills with us. I have two questions, if I may... 1) Is the slip the same as はけめ? and 2) Is the final glaze とうめい(transparent)?
I have to say how beautiful the bowls are! I just love that and should try that next time..!! By the way, do you use normal sharpening whetstone to smooth the footring at the end or there’s different type of whetstone just for ceramics?
@@ShinobuHashimoto Thank you so much its been running through my head for days. I love your work. I have only been working on the wheel but you have inspired me to try hand building. I visited Japan a few years ago - wonderful country, beautiful people. Carolyn , London

The tone of the pressed hammered steel bearing in the wheel tells the story of a work of art beneath the work of art. Beautiful.

Nice bowl, soft tones of greys, blacks with graduated lines works well.
Thank you.
even if i cant understand, i can follow along with your actions. you are very graceful. anyone would be lucky to apprentice under you.

Curious about why he used a banding wheel to throw and trim -- for the imperfect look? :)
This video shows that pottery can be made using only simple tools.
I have to say how beautiful the bowls are! I just love that and should try that next time..!! By the way, do you use normal sharpening whetstone to smooth the footring at the end or there’s different type of whetstone just for ceramics?
I use normal sharpening whetstone.
SHINOBU HASHIMOTO Thanks! Your advice helps me a lot. :-)
J’adore 😍🥰😘
Nice work
Should be Easier to put wax resist before glazing the bowl?
That's exactly right.
This time, I presented the production method only by hand as much as possible without using electric tools or chemicals.
Wonderful video. Clear gloss glaze??
Yes, it used clear glaze.
when i try to apply slip to leather dried mug it cracks, can you give me some tip, like how to you know when to apply slip
When you slip, it is good to be undried.
Slip on dry clay often cracks.
Thank you

Perfectly imperfect
