We're benchmarking and (somewhat) reviewing the GTX 1080 Ti Armor by MSI, which we purchased following finding several negative reviews on retail sites. This test looks at noise, thermals, and overall performance, then sticks a Kraken G12 on it.

Links to Amazon and Newegg are typically monetized on our channel (affiliate links) and may return a commission of sales to us from the retailer. This is unrelated to the product manufacturer. Any advertisements or sponsorships are disclosed within the video ("this video is brought to you by") and above the fold in the description. We do not ever produce paid content or "sponsored content" (meaning that the content is our idea and is not funded externally aside from whatever ad placement is in the beginning) and we do not ever charge manufacturers for coverage.
The amount of work that go into these videos/articles is just baffling. You guys do an amazing job. Can't wait for the Computex coverage
A cooler worse than the reference cooler? Hey everyone point and laugh with me lol
How long until MSI demands that GN changes the thumbnail? :-P
lol Steve between this and the bloatware and VRM videos I'm sure MSI is loving you. Totally deserved though. It's refreshing to see people calling this shit out.
Why would MSI put out such a garbage card anyways? That's the real qestion here.
Now if they had have called this card the MSI 1080 ti MOD, then there would be praise all round for supplying a card suitable for the modding community without adding unnecessary costs.
if you dont mind a loud pc, then its an oke card i guess, i hate noise, i put my gb 1080ti aorus at 0.8v and 1750 mhz, this way its super silent, 1200 rpm fans
So... my only question is why don't they advertise this as a custom water cooled card? It'd get Steve's appraisal.
Same with 480/580 Armor - you are better off buying
I hope someone will keep sending him products to test when the vendors stop sending him stuff for calling them out on their marketing scams
I love how thorough and well made these videos are, keep it up!
THANK YOU!! I've been waiting on the EK WBs to come out for the MSI cards and was planning on buying the Armor version since I wasn't going to use the cooler anyway and wanted to make sure that the PCB was in-fact the same as the Gaming X performance wise. Of course, now I am considering just getting the Sea Hawk version with the EK WB included as it's cheaper than even the Armor + WB + Backplate separately.
man i love this channel it seems to be by far the most in depth with respect to testing :D any chance you guys would do some test comparing the temp/ performance gains/ losses in regard to cases with a 90 degree rotated mobo tray like the silverstone raven line and the cooler master maker pro.
I love the depth of your content. so meticulous and with the person shelling out hard earned cash in mind.
I'm in love with these charts thanks man keep it coming
this is the best tech channel on youtube. everything is explained in such a detailed way. subbed
I've got a question, I've got an Aero 1080 8gb MSI card on an x370 SLI Plus MB from MSI and a Coolermaster 120 radiator set up, where would I plug in the Pump for the GPU on the motherboard If i went with the NZXT liquid cooler converter, just in a regular 4 pin meant for a fan?
One of the most detailed gaming hardware channels on RUclips. You guys deserve more views, imo.
Hello. Is it possible to use 1080Ti cooler from Gigabyte, Asus, etc, on Armor 1080 Ti? Are the PCB layout the same on 1080 Ti with open air cooler?
Appreciate the direct, high quality content. Subbed.
