I feel like you just critiqued him for being him the whole time. That’s like critiquing the weeknd for making sad/graphic ass r&b or a rock band for continuing to make rock.
Josh true. but he made an album 22 tracks long and 18/22 are all about the same thing and follow the same exact pattern. after 3 or 4 it begins to get boring
He critiqued him for following the same formula without actually delving deeper into what makes him feel that way or how he’s feeling. There are more layers to be uncovered rather than just “I’m depressed I take drugs” that could and should be explored. Along with other styles that he has used in the past that he can bring up more. I am a fan of juice and he has tons of old songs on his soundcloud where he explores different styles that I would love to see introduced in a future project.
Fred I mean I understand for sure and it’d be great to see those styles come back. As well as him diving deeper and making more personal music. But as of now that’s not what he wants to do. So I feel it’s not fair to criticize him for creating his music in the way he feels he should at the moment.
Brody Leibforth that’s understandable and I agree, I don’t find every song appealing. But I still find it to be a good album and it’s not like he used no variety at all. If you looks back to the weeknds past (easiest comparison for me), he did a lot of similar stuff, but at the same time different and my point is that this guy would most likely still criticize him for following his own style.

Cole if you want trap and vice versa. His still growing which if you compare to his first releases is a huge way point in this album. Just MO
