- This may be the last time I'll be making a tutorial video for Ghost of Tsushima. Juggling back and forth between working at home, helping and loving my girlfriend, feeding all my pets, dancing on my down time, I finally pushed through to make the tutorial I told so many people I'd make. I hope you find all these tips to be helpful and useful for whatever you're trying to accomplish in this game. All that's needed to be said I've already said in the video.

Here's an update of what's no longer in the game since the recent updates:
-Reload Animation Cancel Variation (Fire arrow swap)
-Iyo's Eye Cancel (the method in this video no longer works)
-Date & Time Setting Exploit
-Rolling invisibility exploit
-Way of the Flame no longer counts as a Ghost Weapon. WotF doesn't stack with the Ghost Weapon Damage property. Also you can no longer use WotF when dueling Iyo in Raid Ch.3 or Trials of Iyo

I tried grokking Gooshy's video on the moon master cancel but his explanation and demonstration was insufficient for me to do it properly. It really helped with the camera on your controller actually seeing it done. I nailed it in a couple of minutes after this. Thanks so much man!

I spent all night focusing on both reload cancels, parry headshots, and the WotF cancel. And man can i feel a difference in the amount of Ults and damage output! I almost gave up too lol. Felt weird getting the rythms down at first. Good video! Thanks for the training!

Moon Master Cancel: Hold (Triangle), release and press (Triangle) and (Circle) two times simultaneously and after that only circle. You need to get the timing down to not cancel to fast without activating the hitbox or to slow where you will do the normal spin. There is no need to hold your Controller with claw and do horse galopping. Had a lot of troubles with mmc but since I discovered this other variant I mastered it. I hope this will help people who still can’t do mmc. :)
Interesting. I’ll have to give this a shot. I can only sometimes get the mmc. Rarely. So you don’t cancel the first spin and then triangle and circle?
I still struggle with this but I do like your method with out claw position.

honestly the way i do mmc is the opposite position joey puts his hand in. ive always found it easier to click triangle with my middle finger than my index, but its personal preference !

Someone on Facebook asked a good question about the date & time exploit. This doesn't apply to daily challenges. Like let's say you change it to the next day and you already used your free reroll on daily challenges, that free reroll won't be available until there's a full 24 hour cycle. Also if you turn back time to when the shadow of the colossus/God of War etc skins were available, this trick unfortunately does not work to get those skins
Just wanna say thanks! I used the katana cancel for the first time the other night and it really helped. Missing my Back Button Attachment though. I did my original playthrough on the PS4 with it and really wish the PS5 had one.
I miss it too. Hopefully we get an elite controller or something. They really missed an opportunity not putting them on the Dualsense
@@SomeUnkindledAsh Yeah and I'm not even interested in it for "elite" reasons the way these kinds of things are marketed. Like, not for an edge on my competition or whatever, just ease of use. Certain button presses would be less tiring if they could be remapped, or things like pressing the analog sticks in is something I'd rather not do too often.
I couldn't wait for them to release one and found extreme rate ps5 back buttons. They also have several other controller attachments to change the look of your controller. Personally it is enough to make me happy without having to spend alot of money or time. You do have to take your controller apart though to install. Look extreme rats ps5 back buttons on RUclips if you're interested. Tutorial videos are on there for it too. It's not too hard to do and it has a warranty

@@VonZuben I agree, I don't use it for fps games, or to be competitive. I usually map the buttons to l3 and r3 because I just don't like clicking joysticks

i cant seem to do the moon cancel no matter how hard i try. i dont know what im doing wrong. i try to do it exactly like you show in this video, and it just doesnt seem to do any damage

I might be a bit dumb I never heard you say what inputs you have to do in order to do the way of the flame cancel
Nvm I got it you did say it but I thought it wasn’t that simple :)
I recommend just practicing the parrys, you can just pick ronin and wipe out everyone except the spear guys and just practice the timing and if you get low on health just drop a heal. I got over 100 parrys in a row before without missing. It’s really hard and took my 5 plus hour to do, after 50 in a row my palms get sweaty! I haven’t played GOT in over a month! Wonder if I lost my skills! Also, liquid showed me there is a small box during the hwachas when you can just roll right through. He said you just wait a frame or something and roll out of it every time. I asked cause I would always see him rolling and never get hit by the hwachas

Haha never too old for button presses, but maybe sleight of hand 😅 moon Master was definitely tough for me to get consistent with, but with enough practice and understanding I was able to get it
@@joeyAdominguez it’s just out of 10, one works I gave up 😂 I really need to learn that esp. I main assassin and sometimes when I vanish I need to weaken some enemies to assassinate them with moon cancel it’s amazing that you’re still vanished!
@@Don-4EveR crazy right? It's super useful. In due time if you keep practicing you'll eventually get mm cancel. Not gonna lie it took me a day or two to get it down the way I have it now

I got the reload cancels down tonight, and i saw a guy running top of leaderboad doing Moon cancels. Just takes practice and rythm!

@@stix1096 finding ways to cheese the game and cancel animations is not what I consider "skill" this isn't a fighter with a deep combo system and has cancels into a ult or super your just for real trying to glitch jin out

You probably won't reply but what are you doing at the 1:40 mark? You change your hand up to press a different button. Then there's another part you where it looks like you alternate between r1 and square. No idea what's going on. Other part of your video makes sense
That's actually something I'd call a "switch grip" that I do so I can transition from what I call the "fighting game grip" to the "normal grip" of the controller. I do that switch grip to transition from moon Master cancel into dash attack cancel. I still do that, but not very often anymore since I don't really rely on dash attack cancel because in my opinion DA cancel is the least consistent cancel in terms of timing

To confirm at 1:40 you're pressing circle and a direction to Dodge hence you moving your hand? Makes more sense why my Dodge wasn't working ahah. Forgot the input.
What about 2:16 though? It looks like you're pressing square/r1. And once again thank you I appreciate it.
You say, triangle circle, finished off by square. But why do I see you pushing square and r1 or r2 at same time as square? Do we need to push any of the r buttons?

On ps5 here, am able to trigger this moon cancel 1/6 attempts if I am lucky. I already mastered the bow cancel and it wrecks. But this is too Hard
I wonder if some of these cancels I've seen are impossible on ps4 pro since it ain't as smooth

I feel like I’m doing it right but the second and third hit boxes aren’t coming out, but the animation looks the same as how you’re doing it
It's funny because recently for me my first hit box doesn't come out sometimes. Note to you and me: don't press the inputs too fast, it should work out. Also keep in mind how close enemies are to you

So this weeks's modifier is slow revives. If I change the dates on my PS4 to change the modifier then pair up with other people, who hasn't changed their dates, will I still revive slowly? And will they still revive slowly?
Sorry for a late response, but actually no the world modifier will be different, it wouldn't be Slowed Revives but could be anything else. If you pair up with randoms there may be others time skipping too, but if you have a party of 4 with you, you can time skip yourself and the other 3 wouldn't need to change their times on their ps4/ps5, only the one person with the different time must select the game mode whether Raid or survival. People tend to use time skipping if they consistently want that one extra 110 Ki piece of gear when completing any nightmare mode if they have all their skins for each class unlocked already

You'll need moon Master as a perk for a moon stanced katana. However if it's a legendary katana like stone striker or masamunes edge, you can put on moon stance, and you could do moon Master cancel since sucker punch updated the game to have moon Master as a default for legendaries if moon stance is equipped

Do I necessarily have to hold my controller like that when doing MMC or was just he just holding it that way just for the webcam?
you can choose not to, but that's how I still do mmc now to this day. I can't do the thumb slide method. whatever method works best for you, by all means. you can watch sdk's moon master cancel videos for more help. just type sdk moon master cancel, should be the first videos you see

Is this only possible in legends?
For each of the animation cancels, I usually say somewhere towards the end of each cancel if you can do either one in the main story and/or in Legends.
Does the date-time trick still work? I changed the date on my console but the nightmare challenges still appear completed. I want to know if this was patched or I'm doing something wrong.

You could use custom button assignments in your Playstation’s Accessibility Settings. Could make R1 = triangle and R2 = circle. It will swap the buttons about so your triangle will be the abilities button etc.
Or just buy back paddles for your controller.

It’s cool and all but it’s kinda cheating if it isn’t part of the game mechanics
while these techniques are cool to discover, they are all game breaking exploits that cheat the intent of how its supposed to be played and should all be patched out to keep the game fair.
they all negate the threat of enemies and unbalance the game.
being able to change the date to play the unintended weekly is just as bad but in a different way.
in a future content update they could incorporate a version of the animation cancels to make the game fun, much like capcom did with sf2ww's unintended normal to special cancels.
Don’t call exploits. techs to make it sound better lol. Youre just abusing mechanics.
Exploits and cheating are not the way of the samurai or the ghost!

None of these are even cheats. The worst exploit this game has ever seen in my opinion was the infinite times the hunter could use explosive/staggering arrow. None of these animation cancels are close to being broken as the infinite ability use in the previous patch. You dont have to use any of these animation cancels, go ahead, just keep doing things like your average random you bump into

@@HZGamingVR ain't no hahaha #facts that's just your opinion. Relationships with developers and gamers has never been the best, really a strong disconnect for some games. Look at for example super smash bros melee, versus the new smash bros ultimate. Developers absolutely HATE melee and its community of gamers who still play it because of all the "exploits" in movement and animation cancels that are in the game of ssbm. Despite their efforts, smash ultimate nor any other future smash game will ever have the same fluidity of melee. I dont think there's a strong disconnect with Ghost of Tsushima developers and its players, sure if there's ever a future patch maybe they'll patch Iyo's eye cancel, but maybe not the katana cancels. Animation cancels are what makes games more interesting to go outside of what developers intended and gives the game more depth in its movement outside of its original design. You can play super smash bros melee without doing any wave dashes, dash dances, shield drops, platform cancels, wave shines, but you'll be behind the competitive meta of the game. Same goes for this game, you can choose not to do the reload cancels, katana cancels, iyo's eye cancel, but you'll be behind on the competitive meta to even place on top of the nightmare leaderboards that are posted every week. There's always two sides to a spectrum. There's nothing wrong playing the game as intended by the developers, but if you stream that or post RUclips videos with that typical gameplay, good luck getting views Mr professional IT, and kudos to you if you do. I can live without doing the animation cancels, but there will always be an exploit no matter what the developers will try to do
Play the Game correctly you Exploit Bums! Otherwise, do not Call yourself Great Warriors...
