My 07 is barely at 125k miles.
Mine is currently at 165,000 - it will definitely keep going up
I do a lot of off roading and long trips in remote areas.. Hybrid I don't believe would be able to handle that..
Also I can't believe that the 2 Tacoma plants in Mexico will be forced to give up on the standard V6 engines..The hybrid part couldn't work well in the Northern parts of Mexico...0 charging units available...
What are your thoughts on that hybrid you mentioned?
I think if people are going to be wheeling heavily, it's going to be tough for them to take in and modify a hybrid Taco. Heavy mudding, sand and dirt will definitely not mix very well with the cooling of an electric motor or the storage of battery cells.
Yea, I'm not sure if the Mexico plants will be forced to close, they might just integrate an electric motor manufacturing line on-site. Who knows? I can speculate that maybe the gas motor portion would charge the batteries at idle and at regen braking similar to their current lines of hybrids
I still got my 2010 replaced the front struts & controller arm ima wait few more years b4 throwing in on another one it will probably get there anyways plus they replaced the back springs for a recall which were lookin fine but ya ima wait a few more b4 throwing down some dough on another one that's my plan for now to many things changing right now in cars hyb elec hydro etch just waiiiiit!!!!!
Yea, your truck will definitely last several more years after the release of the 4th gen. A few more years after that (5th gen), they'll probably go fully electric!

If my 09 wasn’t an access cab and a stick(driving a stick in traffic got old after 12 years) I would have kept it. Glad I got final year of the third gen though. I don’t want a hybrid. I’m just a curmudgeon about it I guess 😂
😂 I'm not as familiar with hybrid power trains, it's going to be much more complicated especially since it will be heavy on the software, hardware and programming. As much as I do love stickshift, driving stickshift in college did suck. Uphill NJ traffic coming from NYC was a terrible 5 year commute. I can only imagine 12 years!

@@KFloTacoma I’ve heard that’s what makes the Toyota Hilux so indestructible in other places outside of the US.
Diesel motors are overengineered for the crazy amount of compression, that's why I wish the hiluxes were here or at least give the tacomas a hilux motor option
