Bro you’re literally super cleaning the engine. People fill up sludged motors all the time with diesel and let them sit overnight, they just don’t run the car on it.
Fun fact: filling your engines oil system with diesel is actually the best way to clean it out, however some have seals and gaskets that don't like diesel so ideally have someone with the same car try it first 😂

BUT diesel is one of the fuel grade oils that is left after gasoline and other spirit fuels are extracted from crude, after all the fuel oils and lubrication oils are filtered out, what is left is asphalt tar. Diesel will not light with a match, because its an oil not a volatile fuel.

The car ran as long as it did, because you never drained the oil filter of oil, which mixed with the diesel oil, so it still had that going for it. Either way, it won't run for long, as, Yes, diesel fuel is an oil, but it's much too thin, & doesn't have the correct characteristics to be an engine oil, & neither does it have the additives, nor the properties for higher temperature stability. As the engine heats up, the diesel will get thinner & thinner, & tend to remove the lubrication from the piston rings, & then, it'll be a quasi-diesel engine, because it'll be burning that diesel oil!
