She’s being an actual rapper, rapping is competitive.
Recently Soyeon appeared on a RUclips show where she confessed to not only being responsible for Gidle’s music production, but also their creative direction AND marketing. She quite literally manages everything about Gidle and all Cube does is provide resources and funding (funding that Soyeon’s work brings to the company). I can understand her frustration with Cube considering she’s basically responsible for keeping the lights on in that company. She wouldn’t have said that unprovoked. Obviously Cube mistreats the group despite the fact that they’re the companies most successful and reliable group ever and one of the top groups in the industry. It seems that Cube may take Soyeon and the other members for granted and there’s a lack of respect from the higher ups towards them. If I were them I would be jumping ship as soon as I possibly could!

Even though Soyeon is lumped in with idols, she's an artist who writes her own music, so she can choose however she wants to portray the truth. And about her members having a difficult time hitting the high notes, that's because they couldn't hit the range. How is that equivalent to not being able to sing? You have a variety of singers who can sing low ranges, high ranges, and a wide range. Just because they couldn't hit the particular range doesn't mean that the rest of the members couldn't sing. And Soyeon is dissing singers who can't even hit a note that they should be able to hit in their comfortable range, which is shameful if you're a singer. The fact that she has standards and isn't afraid to tell the truth shows me that she's an honest and bold person, which to some might be perceived as not being "good" whatever that even means.

Despite everything, I'm still not 100 percent convinced that Idle really leaves cube. Cube has secured a lot of rights related to Idle and it's not as easy as you might think to set up your own label. Maybe they'll stick with Cube but Soyeon can negotiate better terms, who knows. Let´s wait and see, my only hope is they stay together.
Considering the past comments about their contract ending (e.g. Yuqi joking about 'only two years left'), the whole Soojin scandal which visibly tore them up inside, Shuhua saying she wants to make her own company countless times, and now this... IDLE (especially Soyeon) are popular enough they'd be at least semi-successful in making their own company, as long as they treat their members/trainees even just marginally better than CUBE. They've been considering leaving for years already. There's no way in hell they'll renew for another 5-7 years.

I think that the only reason Cube put out a statemnet that all of the members will resign the contracts was to keep the investers from leaving them, since Cube is going broke. Cube handled this issue unprofessionaly. Soyeon was just trying to tell the truth through the lyrics of the song.
Why would anybody assume (g)idle was certainly going to reup with CUBE? It’s been obvious that (g)idle has been mostly fending for themselves at CUBE, with borderline negligent company support for years.

soyeon holds cube and gidle together. she is not just a performer, she is a primary producer for the group with plenty of her own connections outside of cube. if her words affect the company poorly, it's because it's true 🙃 cube might bend over backwards to keep them for their contract renewal but they should've been bending over backwards already, other companies will fight for the girls too and will treat them better. cube knows their time as a company is limited and any investors sticking with them are just making a bad financial decision at this point lol

why doesn't she just open her own company? like, i know it's not a given but she has her own name in the industry and finding investors shouldn't be hard for someone like her. she manages everything on her own anyway, plus she's one of the rare idols who really seems to care about what music she puts out, so having her own company would give her more creative liberty and all, which i do not think that any other company ever will. As for the rap part, I agree with what she says, but I also agree that it's quiet hypocritical and even, dare I say, BOLD considering Shuhua's abilities. I love her with my whole heart but it doesn't keep me from noticing that she's barely shown any improvement since debut and she quiet literally sounds tone deaf, and they KNOW it (SY giving her simple lyrics, and barely giving her any lines back when there was 6 of them, Minnie and Miyeon nearly always supporting her during the encores and live performances...). At least the so called "dancers" are good with dancing and facial expressions, Shuhua only very recently got good at those (since Nxde era precisely). Honestly, making the investors tremble with a couple of bars? That's what I call a power move.
No one ever bought a ticket or an album to see or hear some industry corporate suits. The idols create the value. Yes, it takes years of training that the companies must eat to put them in position to succeed, but if the suits do their jobs correctly, the idols will see them repaid and well-rewarded. As far as Soyeon's rap, understand that rap as a genre is an expression of ego, not humility. If you don't like that, stay away from rappers.

CUBE Entertainment can't thrive without Soyeon. Letting her or the rest of (G)I-DLE go would be a huge mistake. While this isn't to diminish the talents of other idols under CUBE, Soyeon is undeniably one of the most influential and artistic women in K-pop. Her unique style and creativity are key reasons why CUBE is even close to being a top-tier company. It's frustrating to see that the company still hasn't grasped the importance of valuing their artists. There will never be another Soyeon!

Honestly I agree with soyeon on the lyrics 1:15 . Most idols nowadays can't sing a line without autotune playing in the back. The companies push the female idols as innocent young girls for older men's fantasy which is really creepy. The only group up to date who never for once disappointed me is G IDLE. Like the group is full of talented singers, dancers and most importantly performers. No matter what happens I have never seen G IDLE performing casually in concerts. They might not be the best singers, dancers or rappers but they definitely are one of the most sincere and dedicated professionals who do their job perfectly on stage. Love these girls. And yes they should leave CUBE.

Cube knew those lyrics was in that song, do people realize they practice and rehearse these performances especially concert performances right in front of the company..So Cube knew she had the contract lyric in the song.
I honestly don't think that fans, including myself, are surprised that i-dle don't want to renew their contract. All the other members have brought it up multiple times how their contract ends in x amount of time. Or how they would like to go to another company. Or just shading Cube in general. It's sad that there's a possibility of them not renewing, but I'm not surprised. They have been mistreated and neglected by Cube multiple times I just hope that they continue to be i-dle no matter what company they sign to.
To those who are defending the company, they won’t give you a prize for it, you’re no more than a number, so stop it, let’s remember that the K-pop industry is famous for their unfair practices towards their artists, Soyeon is not and will not ever be the villain when it comes to defending herself from the company.
We will love all of these Super Ladies no matter what corporation they are with or if they choose to all go solo! When the girls pay for a large percentage of some of the productions out of their own pocket, Cube's investors should be holding management responsible, not the artist(s)!

Yuqi did her solo & tours in the year-off when nothing was happenin with Idle due to the soojin "scandal" and "pandemic". That year china had zero pandemic restrictions and was virus-free and functioning normally with unrestricted internal travel, cinema, shows, concerts etc. So Yuki took advantage. Now cube makes more digi sales in china from Idle than anywhere as 1.5 billion ppl makes a diff.

Everything those people complain about is what i love about Soyeon and gidle... :) i hope they won't change and keep going, even if it means to part ways with cube.
You can see that CUBE panicked because it went viral. It's all about investors, even if G-IDLE are leaving CUBE, they have artists to work with, they just need to stay stable. This week global investment market experienced a big crash, in which every stock was affected.
I think CUBE is playing it safe because of variety of reasons, but even if I can understand that logic, I don't like that company. I want Soyeon to leave with girls somewhere, where they can expand to a bigger music scene.
Actually, most stocks were up this week globally, and the dollar fell more again as US looks increasingly insolvent. I don't follow cube stock but if it was down this week, that was against the overall trend. But I'd not invest in Cube anymore than I would the US as they're both broke now lol
I mean… has no one thought of Soyeon maybe try to plummet the company stock price, then buy up with other members more stocks of the company and hold a decent % to gain some control while staying in cube?

Somehow I hope that as soon as GIdle from Cube (won't renew their contract) everyone will get back together with Soojin and become ot6 again in another company. but you can only hope that it might happen (or that G Idle would do a collab with Soojin under another company) they are all just ideas that you don't know if they will ever come true. What? Blackpink don’t say anything bad lol. Not about other artists, in the same industry too. Soyeon literally just called other idols clowns, tone deaf, and little kids, implying she thinks she’s better than them. Blackpink has never insulted other groups. The difference also is, blackpink is the most popular group, so that rap in the girls is justified. Gidle is not even close
@@Viewerfor didnt mean it like that. Blackpink flexes alot, which people can find offensive. Then again it depends on lyrics and tone of the rap. I see no issues with Soyeon's rap. Maybe it comes shocking, because of who raps it, but its pretty normal to me.
@@Viewerfor Sorry seems my response didn't come through. I meant the flex in Blackpink's songs, while true what you said, what Soyeon did was a scene diss, something widely common in hip-hop culture. Sure it came as shocking, given it was an idol who came up with the lyrics, but it is widely common nonetheless. Of course Blackpink has all the bragging rights.
@@kain361 soyeons rap kinda sounded like she’s not a good person tbh. Since she refers to others as clowns and stuff, it just rubs me the wrong way. I think blackpink does tend to brag, but not as extreme as that one rap verse of soyeons. The other thing tho, is blackpink doesn’t normally write their songs like soyeon. Therefore, the brags are more yg, than blackpink themselves. (Given there’s exceptions for certain songs). Black pinks still mostly about love, heartbreak, etc.
