Basically (I found this by accident) -your right hand the part that u use to palm mute is slightly being rested on the string.... Very slightly when you do that tap.... It's a easier to show than to talk about it but yeah..... Be sort of "lazy" with it and rest on it slightly and just mess around with it
@@boogabooga8171 thanks for the observation !! What I failed to mention is that the harmonic is coming from Chuck either fretting the 7th or 8th fret and tapping at or around the 12th. What I couldn’t figure out is how he hit that specific pitch there. Even though my harmonic tapping does suck, I could have been resting ever so slightly when attempting it. Appreciate it 🙏
That little tapping part in the beginning after the riff is so tricky for me, idk how to do it. Also, I really love your analyses on Chuck’s work, I really hope to see an analysis of Choke On It. That’s another underrated track. (Rq, what do you use for your pedals and amp? I mainly use a Metal Zone for Death which is great for early Death but not post Symbolic.)
Right on bro, stick with it and I'm sure you'll play it properly sooner than later. I use a Line6 Helix, I'll be making an updated video on his Tone, but essentially, I use a marshall jcm800 with T75 cab, and I scoop the mids, bump the bass and try and attack the guitar like he does.

I usually use a Metal Zone (Scooped mids) for Rozz’s tone and a Rectifier amp with an even level EQ (then a Ge-7 for slightly boosted mids and highs) for Chuck’s later material. It works great but I do know that he used Marshalls which is a great choice. I use Marshall for pretty much everything outside of Death Metal. Kind of crazy how many ways you can mimic a specific guitar tone! (Btw, I currently use a Peavey Vypyr Pro 100 so I’m able to switch between amp modes. Although I’m switching to JCM800 when I have the money.)
