    i had like 5.6 second 0-60’s than i put big nittos on my orange 2014 sel that actually made it slower than I added some nice brimmer craft wheels than put a kn cold air intake on it , ngk spark plugs, a 60 hp chip , it’s always on e85. it’ll climb right up to 150 on my heads up display probably wouldn’t go over 165 nice impressive for a big front wheel drive car it’s a highway machine with the bigger tires it’s comfy to drive . certainly keepsup with scatpacks till 100. runs really good for 163k miles gotten a lot of driving out of this car just change the oil and oil filter often and pay attention to the coolant spark plugs and my purple 2011 taurus sel has 250k miles original everything

    Same I have a 2015 SEL and I gotta say even at 259,000 this car runs strong very strong it moves like it just came off the assembly line lol for real I suppose it's very true you take care of your car and your car takes care of you which I never miss an oil change went with aftermarket air filter and I don't use just regular gas all the time I mean putting the good shit once in a while so it doesn't burn my wallet is worth it when you wanna blow them cobwebs outa those dual exhaust pipes

    • @BMFO

      Down here in FL e85’s cheap enough to make up for the little bit of mileage you lose, so I’m pretty much the opposite and only run a tank of 87 during oil changes, e85 otherwise. Keep er healthy 🫡

      Excellente! yes, these things are amazing. Truth is I got Ford and a Taurus because I knew these were built solid (I mean the trans and engine lol) but little plastics and rubbers falling off is totally doable vs having to always be replacing an engine or having transmission rebuilt. when ever i run her on e85 strangely I can feel a little more power but my MPG goes down... probably because I then drive hard. Even at 10 years old and 118k I can still get 29mpg on i95 and 19 in the city WITH hard take offs from the red lights

      heck yeah they're fast, and I'm glad you're on the Taurus team.... WELCOME!
      You will get used to it but what you can do is go into Sport mode manual then as your driving press the + button on shifter (SEL and Limited) or pull the right handle on the steering wheel (SHO) just before or at 5,500/6,000. I've had so many people tell me I'm an idiot for redlining, but you have to remember the cars today (ESPECIALLY FORD) limits the engine so much. but yeah, I hope you get to have fun in it. mine is slower in the video because I have my car mechanic things in the trunk and they're heavy

    • @Jerone5740
      @Jerone5740  2 года назад

      There may be a device that can do it with the stock ECU but I believe the best way to have no speed governor OR to be able to adjust the top speed is to replace ECU and with a tune you can have your car go wild!!
      Always make sure that your vehicle components are in good shape as you add speed and or HP. The tunning shop rejected putting a turbo on my Taurus due to some minor things I've failed to address, so after I deal with everything I will go back and let them check engine out again.

      @@dy395 oh that's pretty cool! I hope the car does you well, mine has been good (no complete engine or transmission failures) but as far as tunes for our cars I'm not sure of any brands but I would do further research and be sure to use a brand that is trustworthy and has warranty. If I ever were to get a tune on my Taurus it would be done locally and Blow By Racing would be one of my top picks because I pass them on the way to work and home and when I went in to find pricing they were very nice to me but at the time told me I had to get spark plugs and other things done to the car first so it can be in tip top shape. I've already replaced the plugs and what's not but got busy with work. I feel local shop dyno and tune will be my choice because I would be able to visit the shop if I were to have an issue. But tunes that are done with flash drives to OBD2 and the driver has to run the vehicle on the street is just not for me, and if something goes wrong you have to email the tune place. Everyone is different, that's just me. 👨🏾‍🔧

    This is one of the ugliest gauge clusters ford has ever made. Also seems slow. Impala and charger seem quicker

      thats good to hear. actually ive seen worse in the Ford line up or even the Taurus SE has a worse cluster. I do like the NEW Chevy Surburban cluster... lets pray the engine and trans last as long as Ford

      heck yeah it should be a hell lot faster... as it should have the twin turbo ecoBoost engine. on my job we have to road test vehicles after servicing them and damn i gotta admit the interceptor versions of the Taurus I get to work on are monsters
