One of the best Hardcore bands ever. One of my all time favorite records. Definitely one of the funnest shows. Influenced so many bands for over three decades. SXE, but accepted everyone. Scene unity comes first. Never missed them when they played in SLC. 46, and still a Hardcore kid. Like Kevin says "I'm gonna stay young until I die"!
+Reid Ellis "SXE, but accepted everyone. Scene unity comes first". You nailed it! :) At that time (I'm also 46) SXE was all about staying clean from drugs and booze, caring and showing respect to your partner. Nothing to do with the set of rules that it has become for many people in recent years. And yes one of the best hc bands, for sure my favourite. Countless time have I listened to this record!
Nice, I remember buying my 1st 7 sec 7 inch in 84, wow blew my mind and still has me skanking around in the living room, my 5,7 yr old daughters & my 15 , 17 yr old boys look at dad like he's some crazy old fat ass 56 yr old but I don't care cause I'm gonna stay young till the day I die!
Right up there with Ramones s/t, The Clash s/t, Black Flag "Nervous Breakdown" 7 inch, Descendents "Milo Goes To College", Agnostic Front "Victim In Pain", fIREHOSE "Ragin' Full On".... IMO
i saw 7seconds at least 30 times in the mid '80s in reno at Daughter Judys. They played almost every weekend w/ other great '80s bands (TSOL, Bad Brains, Doggy Style, DRI, etc). KICKS ASS!!!
Demonspawn VI I may have seen 'em w/ MT, not sure tho.... I saw 'em w/ many bands and don't remember all of them. It was about 30 years ago......I think DKs came thru at one point (not at Daughter Judys) but I may have been in a diff city at the time.....
Demonspawn VI Alternative Tentacles is Jello Biafra's records label. I know that cuz Leftover Crack's second studio album "Fuck World Trade" was released on AT in 2004. They were the band that got me into music, really. Back in 1999. Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine is also on AT. Really great!
Demonspawn VI Yup! Some great ones on there. I listened to F-Minus, Skarp, Nausea, Subhumans, Black Flag. I'll have to check out Witch Hunt, D.O.A and Nuerosis.
+Demonspawn VI oh YA!! D.O.A. is great. I'm listening to "Something Better Change". Very nice Canadian punk rock! Reminds me of the Anti-Nowhere League!!
Reminds me of my thasher sk8 days in the mid an late 80's , taking Bay Area Rapid Transit , and the Aunt Claire all over the Bay Area . Berkeley , Alameda , San Fran , Richmond , El Cerrito , Albany , Pinole Valley , Oakland , San Leandro , Hayward , Fremont , just to end back at the Gilman Street Project for the punk scene 🐒💥🌪🌊
Mind blown tha this has 324k views! One of my favorite bands. My teenager was going through my vinyl yesterday & said, "dang dad, you really were into this 7 Seconds band"...I have every record they put out through New Wind. All first pressings. I admit that after New Wind I lost interest because of the new sound... but I'm happy they came around & returned to their roots!
went to see them in philly many years ago, and they were about done, and my friend and I started screaming PLAY TRUST! and they did.... best moment ever
I remember first hearing this album maybe 25 years ago. One of those memories that burns itself into your brain. Simpler times, just skating, skipping school and listening to punk and hardcore.
Trust is a excellent love song , says way more than most R&B , and cos its coming from young punk kids it just kinda feels more sincere. I bet any one who hates this music and loves soppy mainstream wanky love songs and poetry would love the lyrics to this song if they just read them without the music.
Seen these guys at the Cubby Bear in Chicago years ago I think it was 7 seconds, Murphys Law and Lost Cause. Great bill great fun and great music. Also seen these guys at the Fireside Bowl. Another great show.
I stumbled on this album when I was stationed in Germany in a Frankfurt record store. Saw the band live in 1988 or 1989 at Bogart's in Cincinnati and the lead singer, Kevin Seconds was talking to me and said the band was all-new guys and didn't know anything off this album!
Yeah I saw that.. it was weird cause they only released a few songs as singles and then I saw the whole album! It's sooo good! I was only 3 years old when it was originally released, so I missed out on that fabulous era. So much better than anything that passes for punk rock these days!
so there i was ( a year and half ago ) , lost cos didt use fuckin maps , and i saw a bundle shop ( 2nd hand clothing etc) and saw a well wicked 7seconds tee great condition tee shirt on high rack . hopped out and bought that shit. i was never lost . hc for life !!!!
I was in high school. I was skating at a local spot and a dude named "Adam" asked if I was going to the gig. I didn't about 'the gig' but I said "yeah, I'm going, need a a ride?" That was my first 7Seconds show of about 50 or so. They played at Daughter Judys almost every Friday or Sat nite with bands like TSOL, DRI, Bad Brains, Doggy Style, and local bands like The Yobs and The Others. Yeah I'm a Reno local.
