Decent video, just a few notes:
- When it comes to the timing for block receiving (4:39), the timing is affected by what stage the spike is at in the combo system. Because (as far as I can tell) 3x nice spikes can't be returned by a block, there are 3 other timings (0x, 1x, and 2x nice) that you need to get used to, as the block will come back quicker the more powerful your teammate's spike is.
- You didn't really go into detail on quick spikes, only how to perform them, (which the game itself tells you, in a loading screen tip). Their primary use is punishing a blocker for being out of position, whereas the shot becomes easier for the receiver to bump (because it comes from much further away). Because of this, the best way to use them is to only go for them when you notice that the blocker isn't in the correct position for a block, and won't have time to get into position before the spike.
- When it comes to block timing, you advise jumping when you see the opponent jump for the spike (6:18), however this can sometimes lead to bad timing, as the spiker has a lot more air time than the blocker. This usually means that if the spiker jumps somewhat early, and you jump right after them, your jump will be too early and you'll be on the way down as they spike it. I've found that it's usually better to time your block with the ball's position instead, as it gives a better indication of the timeframe that the spiker has to hit the ball.
- When it comes to aiming your spikes, something you didn't mention was incorporating the power of your spike into your decision making. Knowing what combo your spike is at is important, because for example, knowing that your spike is going to be a 3x nice spike means that you can risk trying to hit it at the blocker to try and get a block out, whereas a 2x nice or lower spike could be returned by the blocker.
I’ve been looking for videos talking about mechanics and strategy like this, and your comment is all I’ve found so far. I’ve been grinding volleyball and I’ve been thinking about all this stuff too, I don’t really have much to add, you hit all the points.
For a while I wished we could do tougher serves instead of basically giving a free ball (I play volleyball in real life so I might use some weird terms). But then I realized that every time your team is receiving a serve besides the start of the match, it means you just lost a point, so the free ball serve is giving you a chance to get a purple hit and get the point back. I’ll probably come back to this comment section later when I think of other things to talk about but good luck on the grind🙏🏼
I love this! And I completely agree! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to incorporate this but considering the combo count is exactly why it’s important to know in both receiving and blocking to anticipate the speed. There is one thing I like to note that the3x (purple) spikes can’t but receive, BUT the blocker can reduce the speed of the ball significantly giving the receiver time to dig the ball even if it’s in the other corner. Besides that I love this comment! Thank you so much!
@@luccachantre9580 I was thinking this too! For a good while I was experimenting with the timing of the serve to hopefully get a different
Serving in the far corners force the adverse players to spike from the right or left. That makes it easier to receive as the blocker cover the line.
Most sports 🏈 ⚽️ 🏀 especially soccer basketball you always wanna keep your eye on the ball 🏀 not your opponent , cause that is how you end up getting juked (spin moves) you focus on the ball not as much as the opponent (pump fakes)
My best tip would be to learn the basics of volleyball, blocking should eliminate the opposing spoilers options (NOT JUST FULLY BLOCK THEM) this allows your teammate to read the balls direction easier.
This ^ 😊
So true, you want to take away as much room from the hotter as possible. For example, if a hitter is close to the antenna, it would be ideal to close off his cross court option so he can only hit line, which would be easy to dig up if the receiver is paying close attention
Best tip is to join volleyball team to enjoy real life
I’m having difficulty aiming my spikes. I feel like I’m trying very hard to go to a specific side because it’s open but most of them wind up going to the side the defender is on.
Literally the same
You can aim with your stick for where you want the ball to go if you weren’t already using that,
@@jakenewman2135 how do you do that? u mean i need to press the analog stick? or just aim when i want the ball by using motion control?
@@PinoyGamingTribe like aim with the stick, as you would in a first person shooter. Don’t need to press it in, just tilt it to whichever side of the court you want it to go
@@jakenewman2135 oh! i thought you need to spike that ball with motion controller so you need the analog stick
Another little tip. When the opposing team is about to spike and you don’t know where to place yourself you can look at the hand of the spiker, the ball will majority of the time come back on the opposite side of the hand they spiked with. If that makes sense 😭
👍💕
Wow, this video is amazing! It helped me a lot ❤️
No offense but it's a disgrace to call this the ultimate guide, you didnt cover perfect serves, side attacks, how to aim your spikes and other hidden techniques
Nice video 😃
Can u do something like this about Tennis? Sometimes my enemies do weird stuff (like curving the ball or playing a fast ball) and I want to do this too 😁👍
Omg thank you for this video this is the best one I've seen and it was really helpful!!!
I'm glad I could help you out! :D
What no one is telling is that to perform a true QUICK spike, you jump just as the ball is about to level with the top part of the net. You spike the moment you jump, kinda like a mario spike.
I calibrate my joy-con but when i spike it sometimes it goes the opposite direction and thats really my only issue idk if i'm swinging too fast too far too wide.
Go into a cpu game if you want and try different ways of swinging with your joycon, I did that for chambara and I learned the way I was swinging left and right was unnecessary you just hold have to hold your joyconflat basically and swipe left or right not full on swing it
I still haven’t even unlocked pro league, and I definitely have played over ten matches of volley ball
I love just how many hidden techniques are in the game
My favourite sport is Badminton
ikr ! Thats what I love so much about it! I haven't played too much badminton but the only thing I know is the drop shot :(
@@AirKirby oh ok I see no worries
You gotta hit the shuttle as high as your racket goes and dont hit it too early or you’ll eventually trip
wow the irl volleyball skills translates to the game
actually tho 😂
I saw this and thought wow this funny cool RUclipsr also plays volleyball :) then read the title and saw Nintendo switch sports
question, how are you viewing the switch with a VR headset and how can i do that myself with a quest 2?
What about serving? I’ve hit one fast serve but was never able to do it again
i think it would be a lot more fun if they added the option to dump
Imagine jump serves or floats 😫
That was a great video but I already reach the A rank a while ago so i m continuing my journey to get all sports’ s a rank and I m halfway through bc I already did bowling volley and tennis good luck to every one who want to do as well
how do you aim the ball when spiking consistently, for me it often just doesnt work for some reason
So I’m ngl sometimes it does aim the opposite direction but to get it as consistently as you can I swing “slower” but not slow to the point where you miss the ball. You have to react faster so you can swing earlier and slower compared to fast and later. That way you give the controller more time to process your input. At least in my experience if I swing way to fast it has like a 70% chance it will actually go in the direction I aimed at. Hope this helps!
Try titling your control :)
I recommend keeping your controller flat in your hand, make sure a flat side is facing you. When you swipe for a spike, swipe left, right, or center to try and direct your shot.
How do you aim the ball to go where you want it to
How do you get a perfect/spike serve though?
I played today and there’s side spike and a purple hit on the beginning throw thing
Can u explain the aiming in this game I try to hit left but it never goes left despite me moving my controller to the left side
Im planning on making a video on this because I get this comment alot but TL:DR swing slower and do like chops to the side instead of swinging downward at an angle
@@AirKirby thank you so much i love volleyball as an irl player for like 8 years. This is my only source cuz no one where i moved plays
Hmm I am at rank C+ but I didn’t know how to manage the spike direction, I tried swing from top right to bottom left and that spike does not go to the left of court, how do I make the ball go where I wanted it to go?
Its a diagonal thing
Move your joycons when to where you want to hit it
Most sports 🏈 ⚽️ 🏀 especially soccer basketball you always wanna keep your eye on the ball 🏀 not your opponent , cause that is how you end up getting juked (spin moves) you focus on the ball not as much as the opponent (pump fakes)
PLEASE DO PSRT 2 ON HARDCORE WORLD
does anyone know the controls for dribbling the ball?
Yes yes but how do you aim the ball
broo i played u in a game i was "date tech" and me and my tm8 beat u lol
Nice
what about aim when spiking?
Does that thing on your head hope you play better? Is that some sort of cheat device
Bro are you playing this in VR? If so, how?!
A25 pro as of tonight and then I found this video lol 😂
Congrats!
Omg I love your smile🥹
fwiw i've found blocking to be real easy if you just watch the opponent spikers feet and as soon as they start jumping you jump
no, thats not how u do it
Can u cough coop vs online for gain rank?
im not too sure but before i got pro I only played duo online and I didn't get it until I solo'ed so I'm assuming not ? someone can correct me if I am wrong
One question how are u playing on a vr headset 😂
LOL
@@AirKirby no but seriously can you link me a tutorial please?
How do you play this in VR??!! :O
hes just looking at a virtual screen of the game through vr, not actually playing in vr. kinda weird to explain but the headset is basically a monitor strapped to his face
I would like to point out I was in this he teamed with me
Twice
Chambara plx
Dw guys if you want to learn tactics just watch the Haikyuu anime
LOL ACTUALLY THO
Bruh dont want to be a weeb 💀
Damn such a high quality vid and only 400 subs we gotta change this 😤
Isn't there another way of hitting the ball during a spike? I keep seeing people drop and then sweep their leg instead of spiking, what even?
EDIT: You can sweep the ball by not jumping, wait for the ball to be about above your character's head
wait what really? is it useful? oh im just gonna try it out
hmm i tried it twice and only got wobbly spikes maybe i didnt really get the hang of it
The quick is not this specific it's just an early jump
Yup!
Why is he playing Switch Sports with a VR Headset?
The matchmaking for me is soo bad on volleyball.
do not use both hands. only use hand that is holding joycon
no reason to use both hands
using both hands make u more tired fast and play worse
moral of story: do not use both hands
please do not use both hands
last but not least: do not use both hands
one more time: do not use both hands.
Bruh everyone knows how to do this.
Surprisingly I didnt really see it too much in online at least at the start
I learned it by playing against people who used this technique on me…
