Hey everyone, I say at the end of the video that this might just be me talking out of my ass and none of this is gonna happen. I just wanted to make this video so I could talk about my opinion. I’ve read a lot of comments and I was kinda too hard on GameStop in the video. I rewatched some clips and other people’s videos and the pricing isn’t horrible. GameStop doesn’t have the best reputation for prices and that’s what I was going off of rather than the actual retro prices. I hope you all can enjoy the video and if you have any more comments about how GameStop is doing good, just leave a comment letting me know because I would really appreciate. Thank you
Literally go to the retro section of their website and look at their pricing, also seen lots of social media posts of good deals they found. I don't see how adding liquidity to the used game market at reasonable prices will destroy it. I think they are preserving physical media and giving more people the opportunity to play. This isn't about the expensive graded stuff, their biggest issue is definitely quality control though. Most competitors have trash pricing and quality control, I think they can become the go to for retro with some work on quality.
@@Retrofied417 Xbox 360 mw3 for $5 and all the assassins creed games for the 360 up to rogue (first 7 assassins creed games) for $5 each so 40 bucks for 8 games where each of those games would’ve costed me 15 on websites like eBay and Mercari. The deals are out there it’s just patience and finding deals when you least expect it
How is GameStop going to ruin retro games when the collector's market and stuff like Wata games have already ruined retro gaming? Can't possibly get any worse then $2,000,000 for the most common NES game.
@@OGRUclipsEnjoyer You’re right about that. I think since it’s become a bigger hobby companies use the fact that people don’t know the prices to their advantage and make the prices crazy.
@@boingaon That’s why I feel like older games are the best thing to collect. Like Pops and stuff made to be collectibles are still being produced and never will have that like limited supply
A employee told be it's a "griff shop" at GameStop. I don't see any ruining of it with the stores budget. Mixing hot topic and other novelties together is embracing it not ruining it. I know it shrinks the shelves but still there's games and though it depends on if the AAA companies are sending more or less over. There were times of lack 3DS at the start. Heck even PS5 has one possibly two shelve cabinets compare to the four or five.
I used to consider GameStop as a place to try my luck at finding something good like maybe a Wii nun chuck for example. With this change to retro they have concentrated everything into select storms and moved inventory away from the non retro stores. So now I don't even walk into GameStop anymore and especially don't buy anything that otherwise may have caught my eye that's not necessarily retro.

Gamestop can't ruin something people did a long time ago the minute some one decided to buy an old game for over 40 bucks ruined it

Nuh-uh. Gamestop has never barged into my living room and disrupted me while playing Metal Slug 🤷
Are you sure they haven’t? That happens to me a lot while playing Metal Slug

EB Games, the Gamestop of australia spun off a second brand called Zing, smartest thing they could have ever done.
