America has no serious industrial policy and should blame itself for its ineptitude.

Would China be the economic power it now is if American corporations never outsourced so much manufacturing from America to China? If China's economic gravity is derived from its manufacturing base then why doesn't the USA put in place a policy to revive and strengthen its manufacturing?

I think the Chinese are not interested in replacing the US. The Chinese have a lot of problems to solve internally. Also, they have a lot of investment and most importantly a lot of families in the US soil! Chinese (Han Chinese) don't have a history of invading other countries unless they are harassed. For a long time, they devoted them to poetry, painting, art and so on until the Mongolian invaded them. The humiliation went to the top during the Qing Dynasty when 8 countries got together trying to eat it up. They now know that they need to technical sound to avoid being invaded again.

World Peace.....It seemed to me you did not state the "8 countries got together trying to eat it up" correctly. The history I learned is, the 8 countries were responding to a war declaration by the Qing Government on 11 countries, while 3 countries did not send troops to join the fight. After the fight, America proposed to the other 10 countries that they do not ask for land as compensation and all obliged. This meant, no country had ever tried to "eat up" China in the 8 country invasion of China.
