@@AlanOnBass65 yes. Their are a few losers on the Yoyoka channel (the 13 year old Japanese girl who plays wonderful drums, many times with her family). I guess that these kind of animals either have nothing to do to get attention or on occasion bitter musicians who probably have little talent and criticize other musicians because it makes them not feel as bad about their lack of success.
@@bertjones3010 yes. I learned a long time ago as a musician that I would rather be criticized and hated than ignored. The late great jazz trumpeter/composer once said " I would rather be criticized for being the world's worst innovator, than their world's best imatator". Your critics will change as you get older, and find new things to criticize you about.
Hovak, i'll keep in touch in regards with Ellen's interview. I sent an email one month ago. Still in the vault but very soon. You and Ellen with me from France. Stay tuned. Love!
Sir, your daughter is absolutely precious. She's a talented gem who is destined for the stars. I am 47 and have played various other instruments but I've always wanted to play the bass. My first bass arrived today. I found the video of your daughter playing Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder and she has inspired me to learn it too. The duet you guys did together was awesome and I enjoyed both of you playing. Enjoy those moments because they grow up so fast. Her laugh is infectious and I hope she continues to enjoy playing her music. Take care!
My goodness you are more adult than an most adults. Love listening to you and all your goodness. Bless you sweetheart and you have a wonderful father for fullfilling your interests.🤩
Ellen is so cute, so filled with joy and so gifted. I don't know if anyone else picked up on it, she began her explanation on how she got started with the word "basically."
As far as female bassist go, if you don't know who Julie Slick is, she is amazing. She is my favorite bass player. She has toured with Adrian Blew, been a part of several other projects, and has her own band called Echo Test. Worth checking out. Love Ellen and her passion for learning and her spunky personality. Keep on being a great star, you will light up the sky... ;)
Love you and your awesome family!! Well done, Mom & Dad!!! Ellen is not only super talented but extremely well-rounded...simply joyful to listen to her play and speak about her playing.
When I get depressed, I watch your videos. Your energy and genuine happiness picks me up, makes my day. You make me cry, may you get all the blessings life has for you.
Ellen, you are a very large inspiration to me and a lot of people. i cant play drums anymore due to my health, but i am going to start playing bass guitar because of watching you. never give up, and never lose your smile.
@ 8:15 or so...I think i hear Ellen answer, "I am from Armenia'. ?? ... is that right?.... Wow! Guess Hovak moved the family at some very-early point in Ellen's life; So glad you guys got to the States! I'm from Las Vegas. Grew up there ( many decades ago) In Reno, NV now. Blessings and Cheers to you Both! Love this Channel!
One of the nicest channels on RUclips...The Father and Daughter thing...The talent...Ellen 's great but l enjoy watching her dad play as well...very smooth across the fret board...he makes it look easy...
I started piano two years ago, but Bass is a part of my destiny. I sing 2Bass, and I have admired many players, including Chris Squier. I love that Ricky sound.
Ellen, You are so Blessed. I'm 50 and have been playing Bass since I was 14, I used to play a lot Live, and in studios in LA, although I have not played professionally in a long time. But watching you is inspiring and I so look forward to watching your career explode as I know it will. You are also Blessed to have a father who is so Amazing and who is showing you the best life, and encouraging you to be the best that you can be. you are both so positive, I pray for you both and look forward to more videos.
What always amazed me about Tal was that she had only been playing bass for maybe 3.5 - 4 years, prior to doing that Crossroads concert with Jeff Beck. Same with Ellen...she plays so well for being so young and for not having been playing for very long. I can only imagine how much better she'll be in 4 years.
Your dad must be such a sweet soul, the delicate way he's carrying U on the world stage is inspiring, as your passion for BASS is! Great example of modern living getting the most out of today's technology without all the garbage of social networking, bravi! Much love from Italy!
Ellen you have the magic that only the best can experience- the joy you express and ease of playing and amazing feel shine - you are a real player! Wishing you all the best! As a former child musician who did not have parental guidance- kudos to your Dad! Blessings on your musical journey.
It's great to see Ellen and her dad teaching her about all the quality of music but for the father do you like Scott Henderson the guitarist I got to meet him in Cleveland Ohio
They have a relationship that not every father/daughter share. Music connects you in a deeper-way. It's the universal language, and one of life greatest gifts. These 2 are so wonderful together, and Ellen is a really good bass player. oNe LovE from NYC
friendly, funny, she can explain it well and can play bass guitar well, and of course the daddy is also very friendly and musical and good relationship with his daughter greetz Luc from Belgium
