Oh, and you’re right about them having an impact on our society, they already have Chinese millionaires/billionaires doing whatever they want. We’re all focused on Russia meddling with our democracy, but everyone is ignoring how prevalent China has become. Macau (Special Administration Region) is also a democratic country thanks to the Portuguese. I’m sure mainland China will go after them in the near future, too. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter how much Hong Kong will protest, because mainland China has too much influence and power, I’m sure they’ll get what they want in the end. You can’t get rid of the communists inside the system. Even Jackie Chan is involved with the communist party inside Beijing. The female actress who is staring in the new Mulan movie was obviously brainwashed and forced by Disney to spread propaganda. How do we know if Disney wasn’t paid off by China? Surely they were, Disney is a fascist company who loves anyone for money, lol (the irony!) Taiwan was owned by the Japanese (during WW2) for a while, then afterwards they were put into martial law and this was called the “white terror”. The martial law lasted 38 years, which is beaten by the Syrian government that lasted 48 years. The reason why this all started was because of the Kuomintang (they were also supported by the Nazis), who are nationalist that were kicked out by the the communists (people’s Republic of China) during the Chinese Revolution. They then retreated to Taiwan and were renamed Republic of China (ROC). The martial law was enacted because the government was fearful of any communist resistance. So this means there’s still 2 political factions: one wants to stay independent, and the other wants to be unified with China. Taiwan is still considered territory of China, and this because the “Treaty of Taipei” claiming they’re of Chinese nationality. Therefore, Taiwan can’t be “independent” because China excludes itself from the UN, so Taiwan is basically stuck in limbo (this is referred to the One-China policy, in which Taiwan is still essentially part of mainland China).
